So, if you were curious of the meaning of dito at doon, it basically is the the Tagalog translation for here and there.
If you were curious about the meaning behind it, the simplified version is: the beauty of understanding the difference between here and there.
If you were curious about the meaning of that meaning, well uh, it’s pretty deep. Well, as I think about it, it depends on how you perceive “deep” to be. It might not even be as deep as I thought it would be... the thing about what’s here and there, is that we are always aware about what’s here that we don’t realize what’s there. We find ourselves so wrapped up in the norms of where we are, that we forget to update ourselves of what could be worse out there. Understanding that there is a world out there that lives and breathes and acts differently than where we are is so important. Having the knowledge that there is something happening that is way worse than our life is one of the best things you could do. But doing something about it, that’s truly beautiful.
I don’t want to be so caught up with what’s surrounding me anymore, I want to extend my knowledge and understand that there are places, people, lives that are not having their best, and I need to spread awareness about that. I need to be aware the difference between here, and there. Dito, at doon.

Education Problems
Do I have to wake up early? Do I neeeeed to? *floops back down onto the bed wishing that I won’t go to school* —me every weekday before school.
I guess we all aren’t motivated to go to school sometimes. And sometimes we just don’t value the power that education really has and what privilege we have. I’m not going to lie, I have many times. It’s normal, it’s okay if you have. We all have. The thing is, I really think we should change our mind set of school. Whether you believe or not, some kids actually can’t go to school !!! Not because it’s cool, or they ditched, or they thought it was a waste of time. Though there are many reasons why they are hindered to their education, it’s not just because they don’t want to.
Michelle Obama says “Education is the single most important civil rights issue we face today.” Gosh, I ponder sometimes why this still happens in the world today. Education is such an amazing jewel that you can pride in. Though how much I get stressed, crazy, when I’m at school, but ya know, there’s something in me that reminds me that it’s worth it.
My parents emigrated from the Philippines to Canada, and the quality of life in the Philippines is lower than Canada’s. And with that, my parents are always prone to watch these Filipino documentaries about families that have been living below the poverty line with different stories to tell. And so, when you eat at the table, all you can do is eat and witness sad documentaries. One documentary I watched in particular was about these children my age trekking this dangerous hill to get to their school. The problem was that their school was located over the hill. And there were different ways to transport from their village to the school. It was either they could pay for a tricycle, (which is sort of like a taxi but less luxurious), or they can walk the same path where the tricycles go, or they could climb the dangerous hill, which would take less time. The thing is, they couldn’t afford to pay for a tricycle every single day, and walking would take a very long time and energy, so the teachers and students helped one another to climb that hill. But that hill was so tall, that it was a risk. Anyone can get an injury if they made a wrong move as they climbed.
As you see, that’s one reason to hinder a child to go to school. Distance. In some provinces, not many schools are planted, which only limits the students that attend. Not only distance can limit a person from going to school, there is so much more.
The thing is, I want to change that. I want to help. I just don’t know how.. because I don’t have money to donate, just because I’m 14. But all I can do is to talk about. To tell people about it. I know that’s not enough, but I envision to do more. Just not sure what to do… yet.

But seriously though, everyone deserves to have an education. Everyone.
You Did Good, Very Good
I’ve been watching this show, called Girl Meets World. Probably a few of you know, maybe just because it’s a Disney show, but I personally love it because it’s about 2 high school freshmen confused and new with the real world. And I guess I can say I relate to it. I’m going through the same things they’re going through. But what makes it truly special is that the fact that they always end up tying in a relatable and helpful lesson that can someway or another affect us in whatever stage in life you’re at.
There’s a part in a show where the younger boy Auggie recently heard that their nearby beach is polluted with so much garbage that people can’t even walk around anymore. So once he heard the news, he immediately ran to his mom and said “You, me, now at the beach.” At first she was surprised at the sudden outburst, but when he explained why, they set out to go tomorrow morning. And they did. They went out at 4 am to pick up some of the garbage that was scattered everywhere. When they got home, the boy and his mom joined the father and their other child for dinner. When the boy told what he did, he explained that the beach was so big, he cleaned only a small part of it for now. His sister asked, “What good does that make?”. At first, he asked his mom if they just wasted their time, but she explained that he made a difference. That what he did was good, very good.
What that boy did is not less or more valuable than a world leader saving people from terrible wars. Both the same value, one is just bigger than the other. Both help bring us a step closer to a better world. Both is good, and both made change.
People do things everyday that bring us closer to a better world, many are never really noticed just because of the size and the impact that it has on people, but everyone deserves a hug for what they do, for being a great person. So thank you, thank you for doing something that helps us. Though how small or big it is, you did good, very good.
