(a/n) i'm sorry if this isn't written well :'( i don't really know how to express this topic into words!!
you were half naked, stripped of your comfortable sleepwear, all that was left to cover your body was your tight-fitted sports bra and matching underwear, the cotton fabric wasn't enough to cover your scars—a reminder of your past.
the cold bathroom air slapped at your skin, you clawed at your bare, tainted skin, sighing deeply as your hands trembled to handle the small, metallic blade.
you were about to land the first nail to the coffin, that was, until you felt your whole world stop at the sound of keys jingling, originating from your quaint apartment's front steps.
you tripped over your own foot, stumbling as you fumbled to hide the evidence, the footsteps grew louder and heavier with every held breath.
in your rush, the blade scraped at your skin, trickles of blood formed, dripping down your arm, but you were too careless to notice.
you collapsed on the floor, you felt as if your ankles were bounded by the sins of your past, your hands balled into fists on top of your lap.
the bathroom door swung open. to you, the sound was ear-bleeding and harsh, the person's shadow cascading over you.
rolling your wrist back, you finally notice the fresh cut that was dripping down your arm, a fresh, cutting-edge, crimson cut smeared atop of your matured, sunken scars.
your face dropped when the bathroom light framed no-eul's face just right. illuminating her horrified expression that stayed on her face for a few draining seconds, before wiping it off with a more softer, furrowed look.
"what do you think you're doing..?" no-eul murmured, her voice low and surprisingly motherly. she knelt in front of you, picking you up by the elbows, her eyes scanned over your tattered skin.
you blinked away your tears that streamed down your tainted cheeks, no-eul's action spoke louder than words when she pulled you into her lap on the cold, damp bathroom floor, cradling you.
at that simple action, you broke down in her arms, clinging into the cotton fabric of her hoodie like it was your life line, your lips quivered in regret and underlying sorrow.
no-eul wiped away the bloodstains with the sleeves of her hoodie. though it might seem unsanitary, she wanted to tend to you first.
"i'm sorry.." you squeaked, curling up in her arms.
no-eul let out a deep sigh, her fingers squeezing her nose bridge as she tries to compose herself from the overwhelming emotion she was feeling right now.
"i just wish you could've told me.."
the hum of the bathroom light grew louder as the silence between the both of you lengthen, you hung your head low, resting against no-eul's chest.
the sounds of her heartbeat helped ease your nerves and slow down your erratic breathing.
"tell me everything. tell me what's bothering you, what's making you sad or happy, mad or confused, i.. i want to try and be there for you."
a spark of hope ignited in your soul at her words. you felt an overwhelming surge of love and understanding from your usually reserved girlfriend who was never good at relationships, you can't help but break down again.
hot tears streamed down your face as no-eul cradled you in her arms with such care, as if you were fine porcelain.
her chapped lips rained gentle pecks on your face, kissing the tears away. her voice firm, but not unkind.
"i'm going to get you the help you need. just please stay with me."
that was all you needed to hear.
