People out there blaming Rachel for what happened to Matthew
okay another susan post
So thinking about this scene okay. Itâs so incredibly fascinating to me that Susanâs siblings are not really the ones talking about her in this moment. Peter doesnât bring up the topic of Susan â heâs answering Tirian when he asks where she is. Peter speaks âshortly and gravelyâ, almost like he doesnât want to talk about it, almost like thereâs something heâs not saying. Peter is reluctant to speak about Susan, and Edmund and Lucy donât say anything at all.
Who does speak about Susan here? Eustace, her cousin whoâs significantly younger than her. Jill, his friend from school. Polly, who presumably knows Susan through Digory, but who knows how well? The people who know Susan best â her siblingsâ arenât talking about her. Everything we hear is from the three characters who never actually interact with Susan on the page. The four Friends of Narnia who do actually speak to Susan during the series â Peter, Edmund, Lucy and Digory â donât talk about what sheâs like post-Narnia. And then Peter shuts down the topic and moves the conversation on to the fruit trees. He literally says âDonât letâs talk about that now.â Heâs shutting down the conversation about Susan, and Edmund and Lucy arenât speaking at all. This scene makes me so so crazy cause thereâs so much that isnât being said!!! Sheâs conspicuous through her absence to the point where they wonât even talk about her!!!!!
Les Mis mentioned!

i may be aromantic but i know what love feels like. i have felt love, and feel it every day. love is not only romantic and people seem to forget that. i love so much. i love my pets, my friends and family. i love nature and the sun and moon and stars. i love warmth and cold, rain, snow, and sunshine. i love so. much.
only to be told i have no heart, simply because i don't feel romantic love.

this is called the creative method.
You guys are always like "being crushed by 10,000 tons of rock probably feels good as hell" or "being torn to pieces by hunting dogs would low key fix me" and I feel like those things would actually be unpleasant.
How about "Drinking an ice cold strawberry milkshake probably feels good as hell". Do you guys like that one.

you really wont like the military then buddy
jokes on you, i already hate the military
As an aroace person, the single thing I want to see more in terms of rep is characters who are just... naturally sex-repulsed. Aka, there's no trauma, no history of assault or abuse or torture or whatever. They are just sex-repulsed and always have been and always will be.
And, crucially, for this to not be treated like a Big Deal / not be seen as Weird. Maybe it's just a couple of lines, one brief scene, but it's brought up and stated, and that's it. I wouldn't mind if it's referenced more that once (in fact, I would like it), but I want the narrative to be normal about it. No one tries to "fix" them. They're not the butt of any jokes about being prudish or whatever. Sex just grosses them out, and the world keeps turning.
HAPPY BARRICADE DAY!
the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be apart of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.
