Day 18:What/Who I'm thinking about today!

Today I went to a couple used video stores and got a couple dvd's and other movie memorabilia like magnets and stickers! But I have been trying to start my dvd collection again because I not only like having them to watch but to collect them and show off...I still have a lot from my childhood which I'm grateful that I don't have to start my collection from scratch, but now that I have grown and seen a lot more movies and have a bit of a different taste, I have been collecting more of my newer interests and new favorites. Also it's the best feeling seeing a movie you have been looking for forever and seeing it in the wild, which did happen to me today! But I'm excited for summer because I'll have more money to spend on dvd's! Also just talking about dvd's in general, it has been such a lost art! I have so many memories of watching the behind the scenes/cool dvd special features. Like sometimes the dvd's would have fun games, like I specifically remember the movie "Aladdin" had a magic carpet ride game that you would play with your tv remote! I loved when dvd's did that! I know Final Destination 3 also has that, which I have in my collection. But lastly the general dvd home page would be so fun and creative and I miss seeing them. It would make the movie feel so much more immersive and engaging. Merp I love dvd's. Also I now I said this kind of before but I love showing off my collection. I think my collection is so random and I plan to keep it that way!

Day 17:What/Who I'm thinking about today

Today I'm thinking about my favorite limited series, "Sharp Objects" (2017). I haven't read the book yet but I did plan to this summer because of how much I enjoyed the show. This show is one of those piece's of media that I think about everyday. The characters in this story are so real and I like how human they are. They make mistakes and they aren't likable but we can relate to them, especially Camille. Camille is like another Laura Palmer but if she survived, that's probley why I like her so much. Also I love the aesthetic of this show. I hate to say it but I am the type who is drawn to a piece of media because of aesthetic but I lot of the time they are very good besides their aesthetics. Also this show made me have an obsession with Eliza Scanlen, she was insane in this show, that I had to watch everything she's in. I watched this show back in winter of this year and here was my review. "You know when you have something on your watchlist that you don't want to start because you have a feeling it's gonna be peak and you want to watch it at the right time. This limited series was not what I expected. It's defiantly one of those series that will stick with me for a while. The highlight of this show was not only the insanely dark plot, driven by highly executed performances but the editing style the show took made the show 100% more haunting. Plus maybe this is just me but I'm already the type of person to watch a show about someone haunting the narrative ( twin peaks💔) and this show has been one of my favorites to tackled this trope. So if your looking for a show with a dark narrative, a wide range of cast, a great editing style, the urge to roller skate, huge mommy issues, alcohol from a water bottle, Ethel Cain preacher's daughter, and something that will keep you thinking at night, go watch". Had a lot to say and still did cause this show really test your limits...and I love it! I will be buying roller-skates this summer and channel my thought daughter. If you have not seen the show please go watch it. I also currently watching "Big Little Lies", which is by the same director and that show has been just as insane, if not more.

Day 15:What/Who I’m thinking about today

Today I’m going to chilis with my girls…anyone who knows me knows that I’m chilis number one fan and even have a chilis necklace that I got from my English teacher who used to work at chilis to prove it! Every time I enter chilis I feel like I’n entering heaven. I want to share I message I sent to my friends to prove my loyalty.. I stated “ I’m reminded of her warm touch as I held the bar entering a place only some call home. Once entered the smell of good quality food and good times overwhelmed me. The host glances up at me then immediately drops what she doing to direct the king to his throne. Walking down the hall I’m greeted with laughter and smiles from the chilis customers. Once seated the hosted placed my warrior cup of iced lemonade into my hand. The waiter from across the room noticed my arrival. She gives me the nod of approval. She knows my order, there was no time to waste. My triple dipper with 4 south western egg rolls, 3 honey chipotle crispers, 2 big mouth bites with 2 side cups of ranch and 1 avocado ranch filled to perfection was placed in my hands. Power, dignity, peace. As I take the first bite I’m transported into a euphoric state of mind. My body starts to float as I descend into a place where only chili warriors go to heaven. But not to be dramatic or anything”… my friends have never questioned my love to her since. About to get my back blown out at chilis! I love life 🤩

Day 14:What/Who I'm thinking about today

Today I'm thinking about my sprit animal...Fred Figglehorn. To anyone who has met me can already guess that I watch Fred religiously as a kid....cause it clearly shows. But you know what, the people who watched Fred growing up are low key hot baddies now so it was all just part of the character development. And you know what, hell yeah I still watch Fred....is he annoying, yeah but I don't care. I'm the type of person who would laugh at a fart like it's not hard to make me laugh. That's partly why I loved him so much as a kid. His humor was so stupid but I love it. I also loved his movies. The first one is the best one, no arguing there. The party scene in the first movie will always live in my head rent free. Also what do you mean your dad is John Cena...Last thing, when I watched the movies/the tv show, I would then read fan fic's of Kevin/Fred ships...and what about it. The first and only enemies to lovers. Fred you are the only youtuber in my heart...xox

Day 13:What/Who Im thinking about today

In honor of today being Mother's Day, I was thinking about my favorite film about mothers, the 1994 horror comedy "Serial Mom", one of my all time favorites, directed by John Waters. I would say that "Serial Mom" is my favorite out of Waters work, but I haven't seen all of his films yet so that's still up in the air. But this movie is so campy and cunt. To the characters (Kathleen Turner literally being mother in this), to the fun plot of a "house wife" mom gone crazy, to baby Matthew Lillard. Love this movie and we need to talk about it more..for my sake.

Day 12: What/Who I'm thinking about

Today I'm thinking about road trips. I freaking love road trips and this summer I'm going on a small 7 hour one with my friend! I just love the idea of driving with my friends and listen to music. Trust me I have been on some other road trips and they weren't fun cause one no wanted to have fun...like omg lighten up!!!! Need summer to come now...sick of waiting. Also some of my favorite movies are road trip movies, like Wild at Heart, Thelma and Louise, and Little Miss Sunshine!

Day 11: Who/What I’m thinking about today

I hate how people turned this song into a meme over the years cause this shit slaps. I remember being first obsessed when I saw the music video for this song back in elementary school. And now being in college and becoming very nostalgic towards some of the songs I listened to as a kid, this one was one of the first ones I found myself listening to again. Seriously found myself singing this in the shower while doing the “Disney knees”, and I don’t care!

Day 10: What/Who I'm thinking about today

In honor of today being a bit of a mile stone for these blogs, I want to talk about a celebrity (if you can even call him that), that I love. I only say this because he really isn't that well known, especially in the U.S. I'm referring to the Australia actor, Xavier Samuel....the hottest man I've ever seen. My friends know this but I have seen almost all of his movies/tv shows and even though I really only watch them because of him....I stay because he is overall a really good actor. Look at that he's hot and can do his job...perfect. Sometimes I hate that I'm such a huge fan of him because of the fact that he has only been in a hand full of things, and a lot of them are really bad. But he's never bad in them, even if the movies themselves are impossible to watch. He's most recognized for his role in Twilight Eclipse as Riley Biers. And though he has maybe 10 minutes of screen time, maybe even less in this film, I still fold at the sight of this man. And not to go there and talk about someone's prime cause that feels mean...but if we were to alter this saying I would say that 2009-2018 was his best looking (but that's just a preference). I really started to obsess over this man when I had watch the 2009 indie horror movie, "The Loved Ones". I first watched it back in 2024 and my only takeaway at the time was that I felt that it was a really nasty horror flick with a compelling plot. But then I kept thinking about him in this film and how flipping sexy this man was. Like yeah he was just getting torture like the whole movie but he looked good doing it. (side note watch this film anyways if you haven't cause it's a fun watch) But since then I have watch all his other roles and they aren't as good in my opinion. Recently he was in "Send Help", which I was going to see anyways because Sam Raimi. But they shot that in Australia so no wonder why he was in it. But you know what he's just comfortable there, which I completely understand, I'm just being greedy and I want to see him in more stuff. But I don't know... he's so cute and looking at all of his era's my personal favorites are his long hair because he looks like someones emo boyfriend (should be mine), his short almost curly hair with his tiny mustache (looks like a 70's detective) , which I usually don't like mustaches but he kind of works it tbh. I think one of the reasons why I think he is so hot is not only do I have a thing for guys who can pull off any hair style..especially long hair, but this man's eyes are so pretty. I think if I ever met him and he looked at me I would pass out. But Xavier, please be in more films (horror if you can because your really good at them) and I will continue to support you because your really hot, and can act or whatever. Also I need more people in general to get the hype of this man because there are like no fan edits and this breaks my heart. The amount of potential this guy has for edits is insane and we as a society are failing him. Lock in people. LAST THING I don't play around with this man on pinterest...

Hot Take!!!

So I'm re-listening to a lot of the emo/punk covers of old pop music and you know what, I don't even see it as a guilty pleasure anymore because I think they are so good. I'm talking about the "Umbrella" cover by "All Time Low", "Fuck You" cover by "Sleeping With Sirens, "Since you've Been Gone" cover by "A Day To Remember", and "Just The Way You Are" cover by PTV. The whole punk goes pop album is so good and I'm tried of pretending that I don't listen to them on the daily. Also tbh I don't really think we could do this now a days, not to be that guy, but pop could go more punk back then. It's just unrealistic now. Not saying that I don't like some of the pop music today. I'm just claiming that it feels like it would be hard to try and alter. But that's just how I see it.

Day 9: What/Who I'm thinking about today

Today I'm thinking about garage bands speficly... It's that time of the year where summer is approaching and I really want to go to a garage band. The thing I freaking love about going to a band that plays in a garage is the fact that they had the freaking production value in their garages. To the freaking fairy lights, with their Bud Light LED sign in the back, to the bands family members grilling in the backyard with people playing baggs speficly, while a football game is playing in the background.....flipping goated. But seriously, they're always so much fun and I might have a bit of a biased here but specifically since I'm from the Midwest, they always just hit better here... Also, last PSA sometimes the band members are like some of the worst people you'll ever meet but it's okay cause I'm low-key just taking advantage of their house and a good show.... not all of them of course just some are bad.

Story Time!!!!

SOOOO story time. In my film class we have weekly movie screenings for our hw, where we are required to write a 3-4 paper about a film! I really enjoy these assignments and my professor low key glazes me so I feel goated. But this past week I really out did myself and embarrassed myself for life....(not really because I think it's funny and so does my professor). So I watched the film "Blood Simple", which...great film by the way, and I did have a lot to say in my paper. But in my paper I wrote a little after thought at the end talking about Dan Hedaya's butt chin. And I felt comfortable writing this because my professor allows us to speak freely...well maybe not as freely as to what I'm about to say. So I type very fast and sometime's voice type and I made a really bad type o...I said butt chain instead of butt chin...Our professor always gives us a bit of feedback or a response to our papers. And my jaw dropped when I say that and I quote he said "Ok first, please be careful with your typos. I was like What's a butt chain, and I googled that and was very upset". To be fair he was joking about actually being upset but I was still so embarrassed that he looked that up!!!! When you low key scar your teacher!!! What!!! But it's okay because he thought this story was so funny that he told the whole class...and you know what...I'm funny! So I don't care. Anywho I think it goes without saying that I need to flipping really read through my papers before turning them in. I'm just lucky that it was this teacher and not someone who can't take a joke...or a joke that I didn't even realize I was making...
