Mori had raised the perfect demon to replace him - he’d no doubt had never expected such a demon to turn against the hand to have raised him but after all that Mori had done to the other, was it that much of a surprise? Any sympathy for Dazai’s place or for the death of the one who he held so close to his heart, had vanished the moment that this city had become the nightmarish world that Dazai had turned it into. With his help. They were still the strongest duo - still the brains who ordered around the weapon to destroy all who would stand in his way, forever using those Chuuya was close to as hostages to make sure that he would keep on fighting in Dazai’s dark war. His hands were stained with the blood of so many and yet the bastard wanted more. He wanted to rip away everything - wanted to make sure that Chuuya had no one else to turn to other than him. Didn’t mean that he was just going to roll over and be the dog he’d always wished for thou. He clicked his tongue in sheer frustration. “Is that all you’re good for? Threatening others to make sure people stay in line? If you kill everyone around you, just who’s going to fight in this war of yours? Touch Ane-san and I swear I’ll have your head!”, he’d snapped that out but had taken a step back, the red glow of his ability outlining his form but otherwise he did nothing. His mind raced as he tried to think on some way that could prevent this from happening. Why did they have to die? Was it only due to their connection with him? Was he truly about to lead them to their deaths when he’d fought so hard to keep them all protected in the first place?

“What the heck have they ever done? They’re of no fucking threat to you or your plans”, whatever those plans were. What was it? No doubt something to do with the book. Everyone seemed to be after that stupid thing. Or maybe it really was just as simple a thing of Mori having pushed Dazai a step too far and he’d just snapped. Whatever the reason was, he couldn’t claim innocence. He’d ripped so many enemies apart at the orders to be snapped out in his direction and yet - “...can’t you just let them go?...you don’t need them...you have plenty of others to keep me under your fucking thumb”
