Hey guys - I think some of you may have seen this coming with just how far I’ve fallen behind and how little I can get out these days - but I’m going to be taking a small step back from the rpc here so that I may attempt to focus more free time on finishing the novel that’s basically been in my mind for YEARS now ~ I’ll be moving to a new blog (with the same name) but will be low activity/friends only - I’ll make a post later so see who wishes to still interact. This has nothing to do with you guys, it’s all on my shoulders that things came to this. I don’t wish to leave fully, but I can also no longer keep up with the demand that I once did. Things offline are getting…complicated to put it best, and with the way my health is and how much everything up in the air, I really just need better management over my free time. It may seem a little ‘immature’ to be almost 33 and still holding onto that childhood dream of being an author - but I’m serious about this - my health has robbed me of a lot at such a young age but this is something that I CAN still aim for, something that I can control, and I am sorry for all this coming out the blue. Yesterday was an emotional mess, and it just helped to highlight the number of sources that had me stressing out in one way or another.

Again, I’m sorry that it’s come to this. I’ve enjoyed writing so much with you all - I really have, but it’s not fair to be asking people to wait literally months for a reply. I’ll also be cutting down muse list - that’ll come in another post later too - I am rather emotional about all this, as stupid as that may seem. It’s been fun seeing so many different takes on so many different characters and I thank you for allowing me to be part of the experience. As for my OC’s - they’ll be a little more open but still on low activity but they allow me that creative freedom that will help whenever I hit a part of the novel that I get stuck on for a while ^^;

this download folder contains four hundred and seventy four icons of vanitas , taken from the first ten chapters of the vanitas no carte manga . this is every single appearance he makes within the first ten chapters as icons . icons have been edited slightly to clean up their appearance - such as removing text where it isn’t needed etc . the character being iconed is over the age of eighteen . bear this in mind if using as a faceclaim !

It was kind of strange, how quickly Xingqiu had taken all of this in stride… After all, it wasn’t every day that one found out that their best friend was a vampire, or any sort of cursed being, really. Especially not when said friend was dedicated to getting rid of such creatures most of the time.

And yet, when he’d figured it out, he hadn’t been bothered by it at all. In fact, he’d gladly offered up a place for his friend to hide, making sure that it would have books, if only so that Chongyun wouldn’t be bored when he needed to hide out. Though, that also just gave him more reason to visit during the day. Why wouldn’t he want to?

Between books, and getting to spend time with his friend, he had no reason to avoid any of this.

So that was how he’d found himself there, spending some time reading with his friend. Unfortunately, a misplaced finger had given him a papercut… And it wasn’t long after that he felt himself knocked to the ground, fingers holding him and digging into his skin. That was enough to make him wince, before he looked up, making eye contact with Chongyun.

For a brief moment, he seemed startled, and froze… But after a moment, he reached up, placing his hands on the other’s shoulders. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart as he spoke. Getting worked up would only make the situation worse… So he had to stay calm.

“…Yun. You need to stop. If you’re hungry, then I’ll let you bite me. But only if you calm down first… Okay?”

It hadn’t been too long since this curse had fallen on him, but long enough that he had started to get used to the routine that Xingqui had helped to create with him. Keeping his calm was as difficult as ever - it felt as though his emotions were always trying to run away from him, but when he was around Xingqui - it somewhat helped.

And yet, here was the evidence as to why he shouldn’t be around his friend as much as he was. He’d lost control over such a small amount of blood. Maybe it had something to do with how long he tried to wait between feeds. It still felt like such an unnatural thing to want to do - yet he knew it was the only way to survive.

How was he supposed to survive like this? How could he live being a creature that he once hunted?

A few more snarls were heard before he froze, hands shaking against the others shoulders as he fought against the urges as best as he could, but it was too late. He’d waited too long between feeds and now he was starving.

With a bit of force, he’d leaned in close against Xingqui’s neck, fangs lightly digging into his skin. He still was trying to fight against the urge, but soon enough he’d bitten into flesh, a low growl of pleasure heard as the blood flooded his senses.

Despite every nerve in his body telling him to fight back or to run, Venti forced himself to remain perfectly still. He had to resist the urge to squirm as the hold on him tightened, even resisting the want to move his head so he could speak again. There was no doubt he was in trouble… From Kaeya’s reaction, it seemed like his blood tasted good… Though maybe that was just a reaction to truly keep him from breaking free.

That being said, as Kaeya stopped and spoke again, Venti let out another sound that sounded vaguely like a denial. Sure, he had a loud mouth at times, but he could keep secrets as well. And a shake of his head made it clear that he wouldn’t be planning to tell anyone. Frankly, all he wanted was for Kaeya to let him go… But the other didn’t seem too inclined to do that at the moment, that was for sure…

Maybe he really should try to be less curious about this sort of stuff…

“Hmm? I’m not sure if I could trust such a loud mouth with such a secret”, a soft hum was heard before he nuzzled once more against the side of Venti’s neck. He wanted to know as to why his blood tasted the way it did - what was so different about the bard? Other than the amount of wine he could consume.

“I think I’ll keep you”, he whispered lightly against the side of one ear, tongue slowly licking along the side of his neck once more before he bit down again. The intention was simply to make him pass out - to make it easier to take him somewhere that was secure.

     “Geese? Worse? That’s highly debatable, but that’s a discussion for later.” She smiled before looking back at her phone. She could launch into a whole explanation on the topic, but now wasn’t the time for one of her ‘ducks are evil’ speeches. The story had loaded it up and it was time to get to reading. She began to read the story out loud, using the best dramatic voice she could muster up.

    The story was.. interesting to say the least. Someone unwillingly summoned a ‘demon duck’ by feeding some ducks bread at ungodly hours. The demon duck of course became the worst possible nightmare and was on some kind of murderous rampage.

     “….Everything was quiet, but then I heard it. Quacking! It was only getting louder and louder. I looked behind me for just a second and saw the red beady eyes of that god-damned demon duck! It was out for blood…” It was hard for her to even tale seriously, but she still tried to read as dramatically as she could for the fun of it.

    Finally, the narrator in the story manages escape and vows to never go near ducks at night or any time for that matter. However they still feel a sense that they are being watched and even maybe hear a quack from time to time.

    “Okay, ducks are freaking terrifying but that has to be the weirdest thing I have ever read… Still there’s a lesson in this! Never feed those things at such late hours if you come across them at night, okay? I know it’s not real, but just in case…” She knew she was being a bit silly and it would likely never happen, but a few precautions when it came to ducks never hurt.

“Have you ever played a game called untitled goose game?”, he took a swig from his can of doctor pepper, humming happily as he continued, “Cause that game shows pretty well just how evil those birds can be”, he fell silent as she started to tell the story, not really able to stop his laughter from time to time, given how ridiculous the entire thing sounded. Creepypasta’s tended to be rather strange, but this one seemed as though it was trying to win some type of award for doing so.

“Wait wait - why don’t we put it to the test? Wouldn’t you like to release a demon duck upon all our enemies?”, he grinned slightly, giving her a gentle nudge, “Imagine their faces when all they can hear is the warning quacks of a duck! They wouldn’t know to be afraid! Until the duck is upon them and it’s too late!”. He laughed slightly, leaning against her side before leaning over to kiss her cheek, “Okay, I shall take extra care not to feed birds past the hour of....hmm what hour would be dangerous? Or would it just be once it’s dark? There are plenty of variables to work out here...”

But he didn’t wish for Anikka to be scared, so perhaps he should lay off a little. “Want to try that game I mentioned?”

The blond teen kept his arm wrapped around the other. There was a light, happy blush upon his cheeks as he just felt so warm and happy with her at his side… Her touch made his heart skip a beat, and the fact that she wanted to be this close to him… She wasn’t afraid something bad would happen. Neither was he.

“Really? There’s gotta be tons of other worlds out there then…” Bennett replied as he leaned his head against her own. The stars above in the sky had to be in the millions, billions even… Maybe somewhere out there, an actual Prinzessin Fischl existed in a world far away from theirs. Maybe she had a boy with terrible luck that loved her as well…

“Maybe they are…” Maybe they’ve been rooting for the two of them. The thought made Bennett smile; maybe somewhere out there, someone was finally thinking the best of him and hoping he would succeed instead of failing by his bad luck. “But I doubt anyone out there is as awesome as you are, Amy.”

VENTI AND AMBER​:

Well, there was something nice in seeing how protective it’s citizens where. The Nation was in good hands - he wished that Amadeus could have had the chance to see just how much his dream had spread in the hearts of all those that they had fought for. With a small hum, he nodded slightly, “Dvalin does send his apologies for all to have occurred. But neither of us are the best at paperwork”.

“Here we are!”, Amber flopped into her seat as the food was delivered to their table, Venti happily tucking into his food, as Amber turned to Jean with a warm smile, “Is there any work that I can do to help you?”

The Acting Grand Master laughed, a light and gentle sound that wasn’t often heard. She was usually too busy to allow herself the joy of seeing her friends and the laughter that followed, and whenever she did laugh, it was usually a restrained and polite chuckle. Jean was about to respond to Venti’s words, amused by his message of Dvalin’s apology and comment on how they were rather bad at paperwork, but Amber returned to the table. Maybe it was best not to talk about Dvalin so openly around someone who didn’t know who Venti truly was…

Jean smiled as Amber returned and gratefully took her plate before starting to eat. A downside to sleeping in on accident was that she had gone without breakfast…so she was actually quite hungry. “Hmm… There is not anything as of right now, but if you have time throughout the day, I may be able to send those who need help with errands and such to you? Only for today, of course. I would not want to burden you, Amber.”

It was a sound that was almost as rare as the greatest song birds. Her laughter was something that he found himself wishing to hear more, but given how hard she pushed herself, he wasn’t too sure on just how to make her take the break that everyone else could see that she deserved, not to mention needed. Working at such a level for so long would only lead to burn out. He was truly impressed by her level of stamina.

“We all know that you need the help so please - allow us to help take some of the work load off your shoulders”, she sighed, it was a statement to have been made many times before and she was sure it would once more be brushed aside, “...but I guess getting you to agree to one day is already an improvement”, she added with a soft smile, Venti humming happily as he enjoyed the best meal he’d had in days.

“Honest thing? And here, I thought you were far more honest than I was. I believe you said that people can only trust half of what I say. Is the same true of you now, Master Diluc?”

Yes, he was making things far more difficult than they needed to be. Even if his heart was practically crying for him to accept the comments, he couldn’t bring himself to do so. Not after everything that had happened. It made more sense to continue to keep Diluc at a careful arm’s length. Not so far away that he would lose track of the other… But not so close that he risked being hurt again. That much, he just couldn’t bring himself to do.

And that much was clear, with how the smile crossed his face. It was clear that he had put up several barriers. So Diluc’s request to just let him in was far easier said than done now. It would be a slow process, if the other truly wanted to make up. And if that was the case… Then surely he would be willing to do what he needed to.

He sighed slightly, still watching outside, not trusting himself to look towards Kaeya at the moment. He hadn’t expected for this to be easy, but it would be nice if he wasn’t constantly being pushed away all the time. “You know me well enough to know the answer to that”, they both had their methods that would be frowned on by others, thou Dilic did make some attempt to stick to the truth, at times he’d need to lie for the safety of another. His side job with Varka, for example, was one that he could never speak of to anyone outside their circle.

And - there he went. That smile that signalled the end of an open conversation. That smile that let him know that he had several walls already raised, with more to follow if Diluc was to press harder. Not that he was going to just give up, but it was going to be a rather tense process for the both of them.

As Amadeus took hold of his hand, Venti smiled, paying attention as the letters were wrote into his palm. He hummed quietly at the questions, chuckling softly and giving a small shrug.

“I have a pretty good guess about the people who are taking us there… There aren’t very many ships that can withstand the storm around Inazuma, from what I’ve heard. And I do know the other Archon… Really, I know all of them in some way or another. I suppose you could say that she’s like a little sister to me, in a way.”

It’d been a while since he’d managed to visit, though… And from what he understood, that wasn’t entirely unexpected. After all, Inazuma was mostly closed off, and difficult to reach, even for him. Though, that probably had to do with him being the weakest Archon… If he was stronger, then maybe he’d have an easier time with it.

“But anyways… If the people taking us there are who I think they are… Then we don’t have anything to worry about.”

He somewhat hoped that his voice would recover at some point. There was so much that he wanted to talk to Venti about, so much that he wished to apologise for and yet all he could do was sit there and draw the letters into the palm of his hand. It was rather slow, but at least the other seemed not to mind.

I see. I’ve heard that the storms are pretty wild. Is that due to the Archon there? He hadn’t much thought on the others of The Seven, if he was to be honest. All of his attention had been focused on Venti and the lies that Oei had been feeding him for so long now. It still irritated him. Just how easily he’d been tricked like that.

I’m sorry about the possible added danger that I add to everyone...I’m hoping she simply forgets about me...but she’s the type...that holds grudges.

If that wasn’t already rather clear given how long she’d held onto her hate towards The Seven.

There wasn’t even the usual smell of wine of his breath. Maybe he just had missed the other - rather than having had a nightmare of bad thoughts…

He…certainly wasn’t anticipating this. He was sitting on the highest balcony of Wangshu Inn, as per usual, as he listened to the sounds of the night. There was a certain music to the night, the sounds of the wind and chattering of the animals and people down below…

And then, Venti was there in a gust of wind. Before Xiao could react or say a word, Venti was crawling into his lap and curling up against him. He didn’t smell any wine…he just wanted the affection. Xiao smiled softly as battle-worn fingers ran through black and blue locks, a rare act of affection from the Yaksha.

A soft kiss was placed against Venti’s head before Xiao leaned his chin on the Archon’s shoulder. “…stay the night?” Xiao offered in a low yet soft tone. He’ll be sure to chase all of Venti’s nightmares away…

The blond woman laughed, a light and gentle sound, as she felt lips against her abdomen. The action brought a light blush to her already glowing complexion. All of these acts of affection were so new to her, especially now that they weren’t trying to hide their relationship and with them spending more time together lately…and she loved it.

Jean never knew how touch-starved she actually was. She had always loved romance novels, true, but she never thought she would find her own… She never had the time, nor did she think she could manage to have such a happy story. And even if she did, she wouldn’t find it for a long time…and yet, here she was. She was building a family of her own…

She smiled before cupping Diluc’s face in her hand. Jean then leaned down and placed a kiss to his head. “They are going to love you too,” she told him as one hand cupped the side of his face as her other palm pressed itself against her bump. A soft gasp escaped her as she felt a little kick, which caused her to laugh again. “They certainly do~.!”

The woman rolled her eyes just slightly as arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her closer. This man was going to be the death of her… A menace in the best sense of the word, enough to keep her on her toes and cause her usually dead heart to beat. Arms draped over Ajax’s shoulders as Lia looked at him with a smirk to her black lips.

“The world circles around you, doesn’t it..?” Lia teased with a chuckle. The soft kiss left her wanting more, just as it always did when it came to the Harbinger. Damn, he was so bad for her…but she had it bad for him. “Better than before… I still have my vision~…” she added with an amused smirk. 

She stole his lips for another kiss, this one lasting a tad bit longer than the previous. “Michail misses you…you should visit more.” Lia then chuckled as the smallest bit of blush dashed across her pale cheeks. “…and he still wants a little sister~”

“Why wouldn’t it?”, of course he didn’t for one second think that the world centred around himself, as he’d much rather those he cared for to be placed front and centred, to receive anything that they could ever wish for - but the comment about Michail wanting a little sister made him blush slightly himself. He grinned and nuzzled into the side of her neck a little, trying to hide the blush that filled his own cheeks. “A little sister? I suppose we can’t let him down then, can we?”

In all honesty…none of this made any sense. None of the other Harbingers, and not even the Tsaritsa, could fathom Tartaglia’s decision in who he loved… Out of everyone in Teyvat, he had feelings for the one person that posed a threat to their plan of destroying Celestia.?? At least Lumine has been relatively staying away from the Fatui lately, but still. His “co-workers” had no reason to harm her now, but that didn’t keep them from judging his tastes.

“Haha, I will~” the redhead replied before stealing another kiss from his beloved. Thinking of names sounded like fun, and it gave him something to do during the time during which he wasn’t doing Harbinger duties or in battle. Maybe he could even ask his family if they had any ideas on what the baby’s name should be…

“Don’t get into any trouble while I’m gone,” he told her with a smile. He would feel far more at ease if she promised to be careful without him here…even if she has proven that she can defend herself.

Sometimes, she couldn’t help but to wonder about how his co-workers must feel about their relationship...but she never allowed herself to linger on those thoughts for long. No matter how much the Fatui had done, how much chaos they spread across the nations - Lumine held onto the belief that there was something behind such actions, even if she couldn’t understand them herself. That wasn’t to saw that she agreed with their actions. What she’d learned in Inazuma about the power of delusions - that had scared her.

A small giggle is heard as she leans up to accept the kiss, shaking her head slightly as she’s told to stay out of trouble. From the king of trouble himself! “I’m only planning on visiting Mondstadt - so hopefully nothing in the world blows up while your gone”. She giggled again. Silently, Diluc sat by the tree, removing Venti to lay in his lap, just so he had more access to the wind, if that might help to speed up the healing process any. It was a little hard to just sit there, watching as the sky turned bright red by the flames that burned away at the very ground. That urge to fight, that urge to protect his Nation, it was building with every second that they were stuck simply watching this destruction. “…so ever going to explain just how you ended up with his Gnosis?”, well there wasn’t much else to do other than to talk, was there? He glanced towards Venti, making sure he wasn’t looking worse, “…I’m just curious as to when you worked out who he was - not that he made it all that difficult, to be honest”

Of course that would eventually come up in conversation… It was kind of strange, after all. Thankfully, that was one thing that he wouldn’t have to lie about… Though, the lie would have come easily if it needed to.

“…After we managed to subdue Dvalin, Celestia tried to take control of him. I guess he figured that it was the thing he needed to get rid of… Because he decided to remove it from his body. No one else was really around to take care of it after he passed out… So that was left to me. A terrible choice, I know.”

That last sentence was clearly sarcastic, and was accompanied by a harsh laugh. Of course, he still didn’t look back at Diluc, instead choosing to stare pointedly at the burning city. The other question was one that he’d rather avoid answering… So he simply kept it short.

“…I had my suspicions on his identity for a while.”

Just, what the heck happened for Celestia to be this intent of destroying all that Venti had tried so hard to protect? If Venti had done something, wouldn’t they have punished the Archon? Rather than this destruction that now played out before them. It was frustrating that the only real option left was to sit there and see if they could get their Archon recovered enough, before they’d be forced to move one again.

“...I guess that thing is what connects him with Celestia then?”, were the Archons chained to Celestia in such a way? It wasn’t something he’d thought about until now. It was known that the Anemo Archon left it’s people alone, only appearing in moments of crisis, yet maybe there was another reason as to why Venti had slept so long? And not just because he liked to be seen as lazy.

He sighed lightly, one hand resting against the small sprite that laid in his lap, “...I think...we should fight back...”
