1 ) i have adhd. i also have poor vision, and though i wear contacts and glasses, i still have astigmatism in both eyes. that being said, altogether, it makes reading things on tumblr difficult at times. i will not follow or interact with anyone with egregiously over the top and excessive formatting. this includes: writing in all caps, excessive amount of spaces between words / punctuation ( and by that i mean 5 or more spaces between words, especially with tiny text ), excessive use of html colors ( like every other word ), using those "fancy fonts" every other word ( those aesthetic fonts are not real fonts. they are CODE and are not screen reader friendly ), and worst of all, doing all of this at once. please just keep accessibility in mind. thank you.
2 ) please do not take inspiration from any of my blog graphics / style without asking me first. thank you. the answer is always yes if you just ask first. if i find out later, especially indirectly, that this has happened, i'm just going to block you.
3 ) also, i don't hardblock often . like, ever, usually. if i blocked you, don't come try finding out about it, and please be an adult and not vague me lol. the only people i really block in the rpc is if you're racist 🫶 and no amount of "bubububuuuuuubbutBUT i'm not racist" is going to save you. it's in your actions. bye now! i also block back, now, if i notice you blocking me on any other blog, but you followed one of them. that's extremely weird behavior. i don't care if it's a misunderstanding. i block first and ask questions never. i also block if the vibes are bad. i've never been wrong about anyone i've had to block. take that as you will. in a similar vein, do not fucking follow me if you write incest, rape, csa, underage nsfw, any kind of disgusting bullshit. idgaf if you make it sound pretty with a dead dove do not eat label. get the fuck away from me. do not follow me if you are okay with that shit. do not follow me if you are happily mutuals with people who write that shit. fuck you. in a related vein, if you're not asian but you're using an asian name as your alias or whatever, i'm not following you and you can go ahead and block me at this point. no point in reading further. you're weird.
4 ) my eclipse verse is my band au. it is not a HEARTSTEEL au. it is not a skin line au. it is a verse i created in 2019 for my own private use / enjoyment; please do not diminish my work like this by watering it down as a heartsteel au. obviously, heartsteel existing has caused me to make some adjustments to it, but the members of eclipse existed prior to heartsteel, and it's something i've been developing privately for five years now. please do not use or mention my verse outside of interactions with me without my permission. i welcome people interacting with me through eclipse, as it's my modern / music au, and i want people to interact with me through it. but anyways, it is a private au and i would appreciate if people did not copy, steal, or lift from it, or use it for interactions without my consent, especially if not involving morgana. this verse is my sole creation and this is not up for negotiation. if you have me blocked or we are in mutual blocks, i don't care if my friends / mutuals are writing in my verse and you really want to also reference this content for the drama / angst: please don't! this is my private au. like genuinely, if we are not mutuals and have not plotted in this verse personally, do not use or make any reference to my verse. it is not a heartsteel au and it does not exist to you. i don't care if this sounds mean or intense. i worked hard on this verse, and it's my very personal and comfort project.
HEARTSTEEL's dropped a lot of thinly veiled diss tracks directed toward ECLIPSE. This time, this one comes on the heels of ECLIPSE finding a new, but temporary, lead guitarist to join them on their upcoming world tour. / ao3 link
Last night I heard a song, it brought back all these awful feelings / I never listened long enough but now I get the meaning / I was your broken record, soundtrack to your starry ceiling / Our track was skipping, starting over, is it worth repeating?
Morgana feels something sink down to rock bottom in her gut as the lyrics begin to sink in on her tenth repetition of HEARTSTEEL's new track. Ezreal's voice, crystal clear, but it's Kayn behind each word like it's being etched into stone with the harshness of a knife.
She thinks back to ECLIPSE's second full-length album, the six-track EP that came a year after that, the last pieces of music still carrying Kayn's voice, the scream of his guitar. Memories of all the late nights the five of them spent together, a scattering of empty heart attacks piling into a too-small recycling bin and four boxes of indulgently greasy pizza as they worked tirelessly into ungodly hours until morning to perfect every note and every chord, come flooding back. Their proudest creations yet, because it came with the blood, sweat, and tears of what was supposed to be it, their final ensemble. ECLIPSE was finally whole, Kayn being the perfect piece to fill the void they'd always known needed filling.
What they didn't account for, though, was a sixth being a package deal to their fifth.
Aatrox had been the first to sense it — sense him. An ancient, primordial soul encased into the body of a guitar like a relic from the past, a dissonance between the history they not only knew but had seen, lived, and the world as they knew it now. Varus had known him once, too. Rhaast. Morgana had heard only the stories, back then from afar, and again in recent decades when she and Aatrox agreed to put their violent past behind them.
She'd wanted them to work through it, like they all did with one another, but some things could not be healed with time. Some evils were too great to be conquered, a sentiment Morgana did not — still does not — agree with, but Rhaast brought with him a volatility and instability into someone already susceptible. Have faith, she had said to the others, and out of respect Aatrox and Varus agreed; Sylas didn't care one way or another.
It never got better, though. Rhaast grew stronger, feeding from Kayn's paranoia, insecurities, his every fear and his deepest desires to simply be enough. In the end, it was three against one.
So Kayn left.
You sang along and I still lie awake at night / I can't stop thinking about the way you said… / I hope you hear this song over and over again / I hope it burns a hole right through your fucking head / And while you're out there dancing to someone new / I hope you hear this song, I hope it kills you too / I hope you hate this song (Hate this song) / Like I hate you (Like I hate you)
Morgana rolls over in her Alaskan King bed, bare legs spreading over the smooth satin sheets as she stares up at the ceiling fan spinning cyclically, the chains rattling softly in the silent room. Pressing her head against the mountain of pillows behind her, she adjusts her headset, grimacing in the dark. Something bittersweet twists her lips and Morgana can't help the dry, unamused laugh that escapes her.
The song is so pointed, and she knows the entire world has already figured it out too. The song is hours old, a fresh single straight from the studio, according to HEARTSTEEL's latest tweet. Morgana doesn't want to know what people are saying online in the reviews. All the vocal coaches and music experts reacting on YouTube, the comments on social media forums and videos. By no means is she thin-skinned but she isn't sure she can take it.
The rift between ECLIPSE and HEARTSTEEL is cataclysmic, despite their otherwise good relationship with one another, in particular Morgana's friendliness with its members. Kayn's exit had been devastating, a turbulent storm crashing into the hardcore music industry raising one conspiracy after another to explain his sudden departure when he seemed to fit into ECLIPSE's mould so well; right on the heels of their new EP at the time, too. They wished him well in his endeavors in public, of course, and, well—
Well. Kayn had something to say to that. Of course he did, and Morgana didn't blame him. Still doesn't. Not on good fucking terms, she remembered him writing on Twitter. Sylas wanted to go full nuclear, unload ever clip there ever could have been, any documented evidence of any alleged categorical abuse to hold against them and prove 'Kayn is the fucking problem.'
He wasn't, never had been, and Morgana is still staunchly steadfast in believing that, still championing his defense behind closed doors, silencing the rest of her band for trying to disparage Kayn while she was present.
"If you're going to say something about him," Morgana had said, "then don't do it in front of me. I can't stop you from being upset over everything that happened. I hate how everything turned out, that it had to come to this, but it's not his fault. He's only human. Can you imagine? Having to endure something that is tearing apart your soul?"
Varus, at least, had shut up for the moment, remembering his history. Sylas was still incensed, and Aatrox… Surely there is a part of him that remembers he, too, was once like Kayn, like Varus, like Rhaast.
Morgana could never hate Kayn. She could never hate anything he creates. Kayn is as gifted as any of them, and as cruel as this song is, Morgana has to admit it's good. Incredible, even. Catchy, too easy to keep on repeat, even if she only had it on loop to brand its lyrics against her soul. Some form of penance, torture, she doesn't know.
It couldn't be a coincidence, though, this song being released now. It's been well over a year, and all this time, despite the demands of her record label and agents and bandmates insisting they find a new lead guitarist, Morgana kept refusing. But everyone wanted a world tour: the fans, the band, management, even herself.
Can't tour without someone on lead guitar when Morgana has the stage presence she does, their manager had said, and Morgana had known they were right.
It was a shot in the dark asking someone as legendary as Vladimir to join them, even on a temporary basis, but it turned out he was a fan and agreed. The boys were ecstatic, and Morgana was relieved, and they made the announcement last night, a minute before midnight.
It's been six hours since, and Morgana had been rudely awakened by a barrage of heedless buzzing from a flurry of texts in the ECLIPSE group chat, and a few dozen phone calls from Sylas in particular, some few from Aatrox, all enraged, furious. Six in the morning — the sun has barely had a chance to creep over the horizon, the morning haze still tinting the sky a fresco of soft pastel oranges and blues, decidedly too early to be awake, and unequivocally too early for a 12-gauge hole burning in her chest.
The ghost of your melody, it haunts me like a fading echo / You cut through the silence like the sirens through my bedroom window / I should be moving on but you don't want to let me let go / I've heard this one a million times but I hope…That when you hear this song over and over again / I hope it burns a hole right through your fucking head / And while you're out there dancing to someone new / I hope you hear this song, I hope it kills you too / I hope you hate this song (Hate this song) / Like I hate you (Like I hate you)
Morgana must have called and texted Kayn a million times that night, the day after, the following week, for the following month. It didn't take long before his service was disconnected, and not much longer for him to block her everywhere else. She never wanted it to end the way it had. She didn't want him to hate her, but maybe that was selfish. She wanted to check on him, really she did; he was their friend, after all, the only one among them Morgana could ever really talk to on a personal level. Morgana is close with them all, she has to be, but it was a different kind of connection with Kayn where she could really share what was on her mind, and listen in return to the bearings upon Kayn's chest.
She remembered every birthday, all his favorite moments, and she never failed to at least try to get a gift his way. She doesn't know if he ever got any of them, and if he did, if he'd kept them. Morgana wouldn't blame him if he dumped everything at the closet thrift store or pawn shop. Maybe it was stupid and too desperate, trying to keep a candle lit when its wick was burning into the wax with nowhere else to go, and maybe she's too soft-hearted for her own good, but Morgana has never known to give up in the face of adversity.
When you hear my voice, I hope it makes you sick / Next time you sing along, you can choke on it, yeah! / Yeah / I hope it makes you sick, sick, sick, sick / I hope it makes you sick / (Hahaha, shit)I hope you hear this song over and over again / I hope it burns a hole right through your fucking head / And while you're out there dancing to someone new / I hope you hear this song / I hope it kills you too / I hope you hate this song / I hope you hate this song / Like I hate you / Like I hate you / I hope you hate this song / I fucking hate this song / Like I hate you / Like I hate you / I hope you hate this song
She thinks about calling him again. She wants to tell him she doesn't hate him, that she's never hated him, will never hate him, that she wishes they could be friends again, that she doesn't care what he thinks of her but she'll never think any less of him.
Morgana's phone chimes again and again and again at her side, buzzing into the mattress with each incessant ping. Reaching blindly, she grasps it in her palm and raises it, lazily unlocking it with her face. She gets as far as the contact book before she remembers it's been almost two years and the number she has had been disconnected, that she has no way to reach out. She laughs. She just laughs, sharp and hollow until her voice cracks into the shadow of a sigh creaking into a soft sob.
It was never about you, she wants to say, and it sounds better in her head than she knows Kayn would take it. It's Rhaast. He's making you worse. Things she's already said, in some variation or another way back then, and he didn't take it well at the time either, and she can't imagine it'd go over better now.
"Are you fucking calling me weak?" Kayn had said, hurt in his eyes. "You think I can't fucking control this?"
Morgana had said nothing, and perhaps the silence was worse than any answer at all. She had faith in him, but she knew better than most what Darkin were, what they could do, how they could corrupt when they claimed a host. Aatrox, Varus, and Rhaast had all been noble warriors, once upon a time, millennia ago.
They'd had millennia more to adjust, to learn, to adapt to the world as it changed. Their world as it is now does not have room for beings like them like they had before, for demons and creatures of the night, or even half-gods like her.
Morgana turns her face into the bed, burying it into the comforter. She wants to scream, but she breathes in deeply, holding her breath in her chest until it starts to hurt. Her phone starts to dim, and she taps the screen quickly, pulling up her messages and quietly leaves ECLIPSE's group chat. She doesn't want to hear it, now. Not now, not ever.
She shuts off her phone. It's still too early, but she's wide awake now, though exhausted from too little sleep and the pensive weight of miserable mourning burdening her shoulders. Morgana slowly slips off from her bed, unplugs the cords of her devices from their sockets — better to live in extreme than to give into temptation.
She does not want to hear from her bandmates today, and she wishes she were dead to the world, just for the day.

eden's bite : where within its walls sin meets salvation, from the sweetened lips of unholy rites, where all your prayers may be heard, your burdens freed from their chains upon your soul —— original vampire muse, original lore, rooted in las vegas, in a realm where the dead walk among us, and nothing is as it seems. multi-fandom, multi-verse, crossovers beloved. 21+, sired by kiki.
i shared this on eden before but i have to share it on the semi-appropriate blog. my friend made this banger song and it's absolutely heartsteel material
anyway i'm going to rewrite my eclipseverse post again and i won't retcon any thing but i'll simply add to it and note that vladimir was a temporary addition, mostly for touring since morgana primarily composes a large majority of the music; and especially with there being a void in the lead guitar position, she only really consults with aatrox / varus / sylas as far as "does this sound good? yes? no? okay" when she writes those chords. it's so much more extra work, and nothing she's not used to because there was a time before kayn joined eclipse where morgana was doing this anyway.
i think i'll think a little deeper as far as timeline goes, because eclipse has been around as long as pentakill in my head, so i'm trying to decide how early kayn comes in because it's hard to tour without a lead guitarist and i feel like they wouldn't have without one.
anyways, with his absence, they see the strain it's putting on morgana; not only for the extra work she's once again doing, but you know, emotionally. kayn was their friend, but rhaast complicated things. you know, with aatrox's and varus's history with rhaast and all.
i feel like sylas goes "i know a guy" and the guy he knows is locke like you know, demacian outcast bros and all. sylas will smith posing like see???? and morgana is sooooo loath to let anyone new in because she's so reserved by nature of being so tender with a soft heart.
oh sidenoteeeeeeee. since my eclipseverse is morgana's biggest verse on this blog (excluding canon obvs)...
i write at least one muse for almost each of riot's music verse groups but since i started morgana's band, eclipse, i've heavily incorporated basically all of them into my lore / worldbuilding. most prevalent is pentakill (kayle being her sister and all), and then heartsteel, kind of. like, eclipse has existed before heartsteel was probably a concept and its original lineup included kayn so while i don't technically write kayn as a muse, he's extremely involved and very important to the eclipseverse lore because it's like... how do you explain him not being part of eclipse and now being in heartsteel without some drama, u know .......... fun stuff :3
anyway tldr like i've been writing this verse a very long time and obviously have my own lore and ideas for everyone involved and THE POINT I'M MAKINGGGGGG is that i'm so so so so so HAPPYYYY to include people in threads and plotting in this verse but i am by no means like trying to push anyone into any role or anything so if you write any music verse character ur not at all obligated to be part of anything or follow anything LIKE THIS IS FOR FUN like all this still exists in my head + my eclipseverse fic but i just really wanna include everyone for funsies so we can write together 🥺🥺🥺
the only exceptions being muses i do write, any reference i make to like ahri / evelynn / senna / sona in musicverse will canonically be my own BUT I'M STILL VERY OPEN to writing with those muses in musicverse!!!!! i'm always dupe friendly 🙂↔️🙂↔️🙂↔️
i need to write up some more verse posts to be a little more crossover friendly but tldr morgana is a demigod in basically all of them but i'm trying to decide which skin verse is best to use as a base for generalized fantasy crossovers like yes yes yes canon runeterra lore is fine but like still somewhat too specific u knowww like at least in skin verses it's like, the details are obvs based in canon but vague enough to do whatever u want like all skins with their own universes are available but, u know?????? anyway i was thinking about either majestic empress, snow moon, or coven ... coven is probably going to be like, a sideline verse tbh rather than a default vague crossover-friendly au...........
anyway i'm gonna do writing on @edensbite + @elegaria until i get morgana reworked to be writing ready.......... i miss her so bad
i need to make my heartsteel + paradie + eden's bite + eclipse playlists on youtube since i don't use spotify anymore and apple is soooo unshareable but heartsteel in my head is so like alt/emo/pop punk tbh like. missed opportunity not making them at LEAST pop punk. IN MY HEAD THEY ARE VERY ALT. THEY ARE TO ME. this and this are peak heartsteel in my image of the riot musicverse.
piggy backing off my own post, now that locke exists, i'm going to rework my eclipse lore a little because he actually fits into eclipse so well it's not even funny like riot is dropping little presents straight into my lap likeeeeeeeeeeee
all time low's / i prevail's " hate this song " is such a HEARTSTEEL era kayn's fuck you song to ECLIPSE
" when you hear my voice, i hope it makes you sick / next time you sing along, you can choke on it / yeah, i hope it makes you sick, sick, sick, sick / oh, i hope it makes you sick / i hope you hear this song over and over again / i hope it burns a hole right through your fucking head / and while you're out there dancing to someone new / i hope you hear this song, i hope it kills you too / i hope you hate this song / like i hate you "
eden's bite : where within its walls sin meets salvation, from the sweetened lips of unholy rites, where all your prayers may be heard, your burdens freed from their chains upon your soul —— original vampire muse, 21+, sired by kiki.
wait i'm cooking so like since i'm the owner of riot's musicverse ( riot if ur lurking and see this bc I KNOW YOU ARE this is a joke btw IT'S A JOKEEEEE ) as a rper of someone in like every band and creator of morgana's band and i've decided the musicverse is a fully modern urban fantasy supernatural universe . . .
ECLIPSE finds kayn before the rhaastification but demons / darkin existing in tandem, doing similar things albeit in different ways but very familiar, and kayn not necessarily selling out the way you would to a demon but making this pact with rhaast to be better and that's what inevitably gets him kicked out from ECLIPSE. not because they're anti-darkin ( aatrox and varus are right there ) but because of aatrox's and varus's history with rhaast + that new variable adding so much volatility to kayn himself and aatrox and varus are like OK THIS GUY'S GOTTA GO
