I think college really taught me how to adjust to all the different things happening concurrently in my life because there’s always something new going on every day. In fact, high school already feels like a decade ago. The stuff that happens to me honestly seems like a joke sometimes but I am slowly learning how to get a kick out of things and just laugh it off and think if that will really matter 5 years from now. This may not come off well but I think I’m slowly starting to not give that much of a fuck about a lot of things. Stuff that used to matter to me I simply just don’t care about anymore.
everything in my life is finally coming together. this is gonna be the year i feel it.

this changed me
Still baffled at the fact that I saw ten kids from my high school in the span of four hours at the city today. It felt great but yet surreal catching up with those people even if it was just for a little bit. I love how everything fell into place in college but I honestly miss high school...just a bit. Things were a lot less complicated. At least, my mind set and whole thought process was. There's a lot of people that I would have liked to stay close to but i guess what happens, happens.

Sophomore year has been one hell of a roller coaster for me so far. I've never been forced to think as much as I have these first three months of school. Theres' just so many different things going on in my life and I'm feeling so many types of way that its too hard to pinpoint it down to one specific emotion. I guess restless or overwhelmed would be closest to what I'm feeling. It seems like so many people around me has got everything figured out - from their social lives to their dating lives to their career goals - but I'm still back to square one. It makes me scared to know i have absolutely no idea what's in store for me.
i still think 2007 was 3 years ago
I honestly don't know where else to put this so I'm just going to say it here.
So today I found out Mr. Shaynak, a teacher from my high school got arrested for sending a full frontal snapchat to one of his 16 year old students. There's no doubt what he did was wrong but is it worth up to 5-7 years in prison like some students are saying? I don't think so. Honestly you can't just blame Shaynak for what happened. The girl may be 16 but as a 16 year old, you are well aware of what's going on. She chose to become snapchat friends with her teacher. She could have easily blocked or denied his requests but she didn't so this goes to show that there are many complications between this girl and Shaynak that either the press aren't reporting or we just don't know. Secondly, a snapchat only lasts about 10 seconds. He did send her a nude but does a 10 second naked picture really count as sexual harassment? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. I don't know if he did anything else to bother her but I just find it rather ridiculous that a picture that disappears after 10 seconds on a social media app can be used as evidence for much larger charges. Maybe its just me but I don't think a dick pic on snapchat deserves a 5-7 year sentence. There are much more serious crimes out in this world that might get a lower sentence. To put someone in jail just because of a 10 second snapchat is absolutely absurd. Did he do any real damaging harm? Did he hurt anybody? Not really. Its unprofessional. He should be fired. He should be fined. But he should not be put in jail for such a long amount of time, in the case that it does happen. Furthermore, I find it rather strange for the girl to take a screenshot of the nude photo if she was really "bothered" and "harassed" and use it against him 2 months later. Why didn't she report him right away? We may never know if the girl was the one that requested him to send her a nude in the first place.
So before any more details about the case are revealed, we shouldn't be so harsh on the teacher. There are many sides that we may not know yet and we can't be one to judge and say he deserves a 5-7 year sentence. You shouldn't wish that upon anybody. How would you feel if one day someone told you, you might have to go to jail because of a snapchat you sent? Its ridiculous, and honestly in my most downright blunt opinion, it really is just a picture. Unless he really did harass you in person, I don't understand how seeing a nude picture can get someone in jail for a long amount of time. Quite frankly, did the snapchat say he wanted something sexually from you? What if he intended to send it to someone else? There are nude pictures all over the internet. Do those people need to be arrested too? and what constitutes feeling harassed? Do you have reports from the psychiatrist saying you are? How do you know who's lying and who's not? Its a controversial issue and I just don't like how strong-headed some of my peers are. All we know are information told to us by the Daily News, which if you don't know is NOT the most accurate nor reliable source.
in the end I'd just like to point out that yes, I think what he did was wrong and he should definitely be reprimanded but no, I don't think it is worth 5 or 7 years of prison, and before you say so and so deserves this or that, please wait for more details to come out.
its been so hard lately. being an adult is no joke and i'm just starting to see this now.
a lot of things have changed in a year and i'm just slowly beginning to digest it all
You hear about stuff like this all the time but once it happens to someone you actually know, you truly begin to see things in perspective. Don't take life for granted. Don't keep things broken or bent. Don't let it be too late. Chase after it. Fix it. You have nothing to lose because luckily for you, this is not the end.
Every year someone from tech would tragically pass away. But it never happened my graduating year, we got lucky right. But today I just found out someone I used to have class with died in a car crash. She’s not even 19 yet and that could have been any one of us.
