        “ is there where i ---- oh okay. ”  she slipped into the cold, hard chair, eyes widening innocently at the two officers across the table. she wasn’t under arrest; they just had a few questions for her so why did her skin feel on fire under their scrutinizing gaze? small hands squeezing and wringing each other underneath table nervously, tightening up her shoulders as they began.

        stared. as hurried feet roamed the now busy hallways, as loud chatter bounced from wall to wall, slipping through the closed door. stared. as thunderous noises faded - faded - vanished, signifying everyone was now most likely at dinner. staring, until eyes burned and lungs begged for air and heartbeat thrummed deafeningly in ears now that all was still. tears teasing waterline as she just stared, realizing the canvas in front remained blank. realizing there wasn’t anything her mind could conjure but questions going unanswered, nothing her heart could feel but agonizing pain at so much death, so much uncertainty regarding a little brother and things her hands could not do now but shake continuously, releasing brush in favor of reaching forward, thin fingers grasping paper and ripping from easel, tearing over and over, equally angry and exhausted. were her parents there that night ? would they come back for her brother ? was she going to die before she really started living ? how could she hide that night, leaving others to die instead ? 

     her head was whirling, until all of a sudden, it stopped. focused on a slight noise the turning doorknob and squeak of shoes.  nessa balled the literal hundreds of pieces of paper into both hands, calmly tossing into the bin to her right before hopping off her stool. “what’s for dinner?” she’ll ask cheerfully, finally turning with her trademark sunny smile that didn’t quite reach the forlorn look in her eyes.

Was that BECKY G I just saw walking down the hallways? Oh wait, no - that was VANESSA “NESSA” FLORES. The CIS FEMALE is a 22 year old RAVENCLAW who is in YEAR 11. parents are ......... def among those that are pieces of shit-take mushrooms, and before vday massacre, she had her suspicions about their allegiance. now it’s confirmed, as they’ve disappeared after that night and left her little brother luca all alone 

because of that, she returned home unsure of whether she’d be able to return to hogwarts at first when the break was over, considering he’s only eight. but one of her friend’s parents promised to take care of him at least until she graduates, but she’s always traveling home on the weekends to check up on him and also so he doesn’t get super sad bc lmao he’s little, he doesn’t realize the truly awful people that their parents were 

constantly living in fear that they’re going to come back and take him with them tbh or appear one night while she’s sleeping to kill her; honestly loses so much sleep lately

nessa realizes she’s the only family that luca has now, so her decision to join the order falters because if something happens to her, he has no one, though she really wants to fight!

before, she was a sunshine type person. trullyyyyyy a soft person who liked anything to do with art and photography, but now she’s so heckin stressedddd that it’s more of a facade because what right does she have to be upset when others have lost someone forever?????
