By my nature I am a god. Was there a celestial bureaucracy that I bypassed? Which rules and systems are you referring to? I made a point to speak with an existing god so that I would not intrude. I have not exerted power over any mortal yet. Who dare ᴄʜᴀʟʟᴇɴɢᴇ me, by that measure?

Echo wanders the celestial layer, looking for an ideal place to make her home in this new world. She passes by plains of flowers and towering mountains, snowy valleys and expansive deserts, none of which catch her fancy. She follows a river for a while, through a jungle and beyond to another grassy plain. There is land in abundance here that is not constrained by the limits that she is used to.

She comes across the strange sight of a floating chunk of mountain. A single ethereal waterfall cascades down, glittering and misty as it reaches the ground nearby.  With a wave of her hand she conjures a pearlescent circle of stone where the waterfall lands, causing it to pool as if in a fountain. She smiles as she sits on the side, trailing one hand through the water then watching her reflection dance in the wake. Glancing upward, she flicks her hand again and the water turns pale pink.

Yes, that will do for a start.

Your ''ward'' practically fell to pieces when one of us mentioned his lost love. He seems like an easy egg to crack. Maybe he's just putting on an act and isn't strong enough for this world.

You have no idea how strong he truly is. The heart may often be a vulnerable thing, but it is cruel of you to use it against someone.

I believe he can face any challenges ahead.

I sensed an imbalance, something I am well acquainted with. Perhaps I can stop another from suffering as I did. ...And perhaps not. But I can make the attempt.

As for my ward, he is in no danger at the moment. He needs to find his own way again. I have faith in him without intervening for now.
