Hi, I’m desperately trying to get away from my abuser. There’s more information on my blog, if anyone wants to kick some change my way to put towards a plane ticket, my google wallet is [email protected]. thanks ❤
Using religion
As an excuse to abuse your kid. What do you guys think?
@dragonslou There is no logical excuse as to why anyone should abuse their children. Religion, a designated outlet of peace and Faith, becomes contradictory if the parent is using it as a tool to hurt. Therefore they're not as religious as they put out. But no there is no excuse to hurt someone under the guise of religion, whether the victim takes part in it or not. It's still abuse

A physically healthy place isn't always a mentally healthy place
17 year old in new York. I have a very hard time at home and have been dreaming of moving out for years. By June, this is becoming a reality. I'm going to a community college and planning to move into a freinds house and their mom. Their mom is totally fine with it and I have a back up plan for if things go sour. My main concern is this.
When I graduate high school (which is when I plan to move out) AND a month into college ibwill be 17. Since I'm so close to age of majority, will my case be taken seriously if my parents decide to call the police? I've heard numerous things about emancipation (which is very hard), the possibility of police bringing me back or not and other legal matters. Honestly I'm more concerned about what could happen to my friend and their mom for possibly 'harboring a runaway' . If the law betrays me, I can't wait until I'm 18 and will have to be the worst possible kid in the house and get kicked out.
My main question is, what would likely happen legally if I moved out at 17 without parental consent, in new York, as a high school graduate?
Wow!! I can't believe it's been a year now!! Thank you all for being so supportive and using this platform to relate and help others as well as yourselves. This wouldn't have been possible without you and your wonderful brains
what do I do with my break? from a college student, for a college student.
get plenty of rest, but not too much. you should be getting 6-8 hours of sleep. don’t mess up your sleeping schedule with staying up late and/or sleeping for too long. wake up at a reasonable time.
catch up on tv shows/watch Netflix. you’ve worked hard this semester, reward yourself and fulfill your craving of Netflix and tv shows.
assigned readings. if you know of any assigned readings, make sure you do them asap. that way you can be prepared and relax for the rest of the break.
read for fun. make sure you are finding joy in reading books that you enjoy or genuinely have an interest in. reading for an assignment or a grade can be exhausting so remember how it feels to read for fun.
clean and reorganize. (if you’re anything like me, i actually enjoy cleaning and reorganizing. I literally clean and reorganize every other day.) redo your desk space, your pencil cases, your bag, anything! also go ahead and start planning next semester’s schedule.
catch up with old friends and keep in touch with new ones. being on break is fun. you have a bunch of time so why not reconnect with friends you didn’t get to see at college or were too busy to see during your semester. also keep in touch with those new friends. (I know I definitely miss my roommates and my friends a bunch already so I’ve been facetiming and snapchatting them a bunch!)
exercise. make sure you’re taking care of yourself during break and maintaining your physical health and eating healthy!
self care. take this time to make sure not only your physical health is well, but focus on your mental health. focus on yourself and what you need.
create something. art, music, anything! don’t lose your creative side and reconnect with it while you have time.
try picking up a new hobby or learning something new. and if you already have a wide array of hobbies, focus on those. learn something new, it doesn’t have to be academic, it could be learning an instrument or how to bake or writing. virtually anything you’re interested in!
I hope everyone enjoys their breaks and happy holidays! I know I’m already enjoying my break, but I can’t wait to get back to school and really start up my studyblr with all of my notes and school work.

GOOD LUCK ON FINALS KIDDOS!!
One of my close freinds died in an accident yesterday
And my mom doesnt give a flying fuck
I just failed my second road test, tips?
Hi I failed my second road test and feel awful about it. I had a panic attack and drove completely different than i usually would, resulting in me voluntarily pulling over to avoid a crash because i was so nervous :(. Normally im a very good driver and understand the rules of the road but i get so anxious during the road test, any tips?
Opinion?
What is your opinion on people moving into their Significant others house after high school. (This is in the significant others parents house, with consent)
Its okay to go to community college
Because you cant afford anywhere else
Because you dont have the grades or didnt get accepted anywhere else
Even if you can afford other places
Even if you do have the scores for elsewhere
Because you want an associates
To transfer
Whatever the reason
It doesn't make you pathetic, ill planned, or cheap. Enjoy college no matter where and understand with good work ethic and motivation, you'll end up where you need to be.
So a couple days ago I finally got to disclose how i felt (somewhat) to my mother without repercussions
And you know what? She still justified it
That's the thing about a narssistic parent. Even if they know they're wrong they care more about being right than doing right
Im so happy today! Im filling out these lengthy ass work papers so i can get started on my first job! This is wonderful and very relieving because now I can fund for a car AND I have the golden ticket to be able to leave my house! Because of this I will leave threads for kids looking for financial education and job info (how to work a register, how the union works, work papers explained, credit debit checking oh my etc) once I get the hang of it. Have a wonderful day/ night : )
PSA for people (especially teens) looking for jobs
Do NOT be afraid to call the place you submitted your application
Retail/grocery etc can be very disorganized and employees who collect your application can leave it where a manager will never see it or totally forget its there
Call back and ask if they got your application if they don’t call you in a couple weeks, not only might this snag you a job but it’ll make you look better to the employers
Sincerely, someone who is filling out papers for their job because their friend told them to call back after months of stubbornly not doing it
Edit: my grandma and boyfriends mom called back (back in the day) and thats how they got their first job
Tfw youve applied to five places and cant get a job and you have to find one before graduation or you cant move out due to no income
