Collins is gone.

Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.

Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.

All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.

After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.

It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.

And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.

The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.

Right now, the AFN is currently accepting donations to help Collins First Nation. If you're able to, please consider donating.

ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.

little life update that relates to my extremely slow responses and DMs. it’s all under the cut for those who don’t want to see it:

i was laid off from a promising job in january, on my dad’s anniversary of all days, with no explanation to what i had done wrong to be quietly told to go away basically. since then i have been searching for a job with little to no luck, even fake promises of one job giving me a position.

all of this has fucked with my health. both physically and mentally: i have been nauseous constantly, my anxiety has been through the roof to the point i’ve been back on medication. my confidence in the workforce has plummeted and it has effected my confidence here as an rp partner and friend. let alone my art and other creative passions, as well as basic daily things i’ve got to do.

who they like better: probably his mother. maybe because his father would be away for periods of time fighting evil, so there might have been times where he did not see his father for weeks at a time. but that does not mean he doesn't love his father any less.

who they take after more: his father. many of his skills are probably inherited and taught, his critical thinking and judgement ... i get a feeling this boy would take after van helsing.

personal headcanon: guilio is fluent in multiple languages, with italian being his mother tongue. he is, in general, a natural at languages and often picks them up quickly. he is fluent in italian, latin, ancient greek, english, german, french, spanish ... the list goes on. it makes eavesdropping rather easy for him, when he was both a child and an adult, he uncovered secrets and such. it is probably how he learnt of his own immortality, by eavesdropping on his parents one night.

The war horse stumbles down shaky soil and rears up, tumbling. The ridge of the hill sinks lower than mist. The wolf beasts pounce and gallop, scratching into the black beds of trees. The retinue gushes past like a heavy wave, making red with their spears into wisps of haylike hair and thick greyish hides.

The saddle spins under him, the sea of werewolf grunts, squelching worms wriggling through the earth, intestines rippling innumerable beats, all drum in his ears in a moment of cacophony. Markus is swept off. The vampire sees nothing for the moment, touches nothing but the thrust of his sword into a chest cavity. He sinks like a rock as if eaten by the ocean, a leader cut from the clan, only a brisk stubble of scattered soldiers and animals left of all its flowing and waving, in time to die by teeth and fang.

The pool of mud shatters as his shoulder plate hits. He rolls, an armoured back seethed in water and the helm ripped from his face. His body spins again. His spine cracks, hoof-splashed. One bone lay rain-pocked and cold-bleached till it shone like a twig that the moon had polished. Sunk alone on the turf bottom, his skull smashes in from the back of his head, brain matter driven into the ground and pressed against his two eye sockets to finger fuck through the bone.

That horse, that had its foxy red rump in spring, now in midsummer bent pliant leaves to the south night wind, now black as wet ground with the blood of both sides, and as bare, cantering away.

Why should someone have to turn a feature off that is often used for fun things just because a bully can't keep their bullshit to themselves?

realistically: it shouldn't be turned off. just as you said; the anonymous feature is used for fun things. not for harassment. the previous anon has made it clear that whoever they are is well aware of what has been going on and the anons being sent. every single anon i've seen has been incredibly nasty, from targeting people and their worth to telling people to off themselves. that is NOT what anon is to be used for, i completely agree.

no right human would target others to be so insensitive and cruel. no person would be heartless. people have gotten too comfortable with the idea of hiding behind a feature to be cruel.
