Today I saw a particular comment that said that last year Steven Moffatt spent an hour-long conversation with fans explaining why the Doctor was MADLY in love with Clara
And then I remembered this line in the episode that Modern / Original Clara was introduced. "If he truly is mad then this is his madness."
Doctor Who forshadowed how mad the Doctor would go for Clara. From madly loving her to madly trying to save her for 4,5 billions of years.
This is the ship of dreams!
Doctor Who Death in Heaven | 8.12
Clara's same face different person every incarnation versus the Doctor's different face same person every incarnation save me
I always forget that Missy set the Doctor up with Clara. In terms of the master’s plans, I think it’s up there with one of the best. She was really just like “I’m going to set my ex up with this babysitter, and create a relationship so toxic it threatens reality” and that’s exactly what happened. Flawless execution. No notes.

"When I was a child and she was a child..."
Of course Alexander Ward would quote Annabelle Lee when describing his childhood with Thimble. I hope I was able to capture the storybook quality of the Golden Orchard/childhood nostalgia against the starkness of their recent reunion! I love these two. Of course they've left me with my heart in my throat after the most recent episode 🙃
I was pretty ambivalent about shipping in this campaign so far, but the emotional stalemate that Julien and Occtis are locked into is so juicy. Guy who obfuscates his caring for other people behind several layers of strategy and indifference bc he can't afford to care about anyone new right now vs Guy who is so used to being treated with indifference that he needs to be told explicitly and repeatedly that someone cares about him to believe it. Delicious.
What's really sad, and Bolaire did touch on it, but the two people who wanted to see the play the most, who had spoken about it numerous times, never got to see it. Wick may still get to see it if Hal is able to put it on again after the opening night, but Bolaire most certainly can't. But I would have loved Bolaire and Wick to have been able to sit next to each other and geek out at watching it.
Sam and Taliesin would have acted the SHIT out of theatre nerds.
Julien's hand tightening on his sword as he looked at Primus and him looking back at a crying Occtis was him choosing between attacking Primus and prioritizing Occtis's safety and comfort.
And he chose Occtis.
The ring of fire resistance is the gift that keeps on giving
No context, I just wanted them to kiss and be shocked about being into it
My theory for Azune's name pronunciation:
In Spanish most countries pronounce z as an s. So Asune. Or. Of we want to ve really unhinged. In Spain spanish, z is pronounced th. So his name is actually Athune.
If he lets himself, I think Julien is about to have some uncomfortable realizations about his emotions surrounding Occtis.
He vehemently denied caring about him, and then proceeded to follow him back into Obrimus Manor to keep him safe, and THEN explicitly chose comforting him over a fight with Occtis's father (though let's be real the decision not to engage was also based on Matt knowing Power Word Kill places Primus so far out of their reach it would have been suicide to try and fight him).
When speaking to his mother, Julien told her his goal right now is to kill every Tachonis, but he keeps putting himself in danger for this specific one, following him back into dangerous places despite Maya's request for him not to die in a dark hole. One episode previous his mother's request kept him from going to help Teor, but for Occtis he'll go back in.
After they reunited at Hal's Julien (who has no healing) asked for someone to heal Occtis, even though Julien was also hurt. "Tend to your exhausted charge, please." is what he says to Thaisha, but she looks past Occtis to Mara, who she takes and heals. I really don't think Julien cared if Mara got healed I think he was asking her to heal Occtis.
So, he's putting himself in dangerous situations to keep Occtis safe, and going out of his way to ask for healing for Occtis over himself. Yeah, Julien could have some uncomfortable conversations with himself.

A dead little noble boy and his knight who definitely isn’t his protector and who he certainly doesn’t care about.
