someone left a really rude comment on my post about abortion with the assumption that i sleep around with men all the time, and like, i considered responding with something rude but i just deleted it because even if it was true, it wouldn't matter. but it's funny to me cause this may be the only time in my whole life i've been accused of such a thing... ever since i was a little girl i paid no attention to sex ed class cause i was sure i'd never be interested in this kind of proximity to boys. ever since i was a little girl my family assumed i'd be the gay representation. i mentioned a dream where i was pregnant and my grandma was like "and how did you pregnant? parthenogenesis?"

THE SOPRANOS 6.08 — Johnny Cakes.
I’ve been meaning to watch the earlier SW movies cuz I think I’d love them but… what do you think about the watch order? I feel like some say it doesn’t matter and some say you gotta do it a certain way lol
i'd watch them in the order of release tbh! so a new hope, empire strikes back, return of the jedi, and then the prequels if you're interested. i think the first movies are great in part cause they keep things simple, and having all the lore from the prequels (on how the jedi order works, how the senate works, how the force actually works and so on) would i think be more distracting than anything else. the main character of the original trilogy is luke, a young farmer from a remote rural location who knows basically no politics and nothing about the force/the jedi order/the sith, i think it's good to be on his wavelength and discover things along with him. i personally will confess to having only seen bits and pieces of the prequels, i found them too annoying to watch fully, but there's definitely a charm to them that i think will be heightened by already having some attachment to this universe/these characters, and wanting to see more of them. even people who hate these movies tend to respect ewan mcgregor as obi-wan, for example. i also always thought people were too mean about hayden christensen, i think he's charming
the sequels from 2015-19, i wouldn't bother at all. there are a lot of things i like in tfa, and lots of people who aren't me loved tlj, and neither group of fans got what they wanted from tros, a movie where the spoilers i saw were so insane that i convinced myself everyone was just lying to me and it wouldn't happen. it's so unfortunate cause i think the new actors were really charming and had great chemistry in tfa, but the movies are so incoherent and disjointed that it feels like a group project made by people who are also getting a divorce and arent on speaking terms. really tragic
i would also recommend the two KOTOR games, even though now they're old and janky. they engage with the politics and philosophies of star wars in fascinating ways, especially KOTOR 2, which i would still consider to be one of the best rpgs ever made... it's just one thing, but i think they make a good case for why there is a light and a dark side of the force, and why the jedi are not just uncomplicated good guys. they're not like "the pacifists and the planet destroyers, morally equivalent", but more like "why are the jedi failing so many of their students? if so many people turn to the dark side, shouldn't we stop seeing it as just personal failures? is the jedi's refusal to be human setting them up for acts of inhumanity?" and so on
