I figured out why casting cis people as trans people really pisses me off. It’s because it’s basically saying, these women are not real women. That these men are really just women pretending. It completely invalidates trans identities. If you’re going to cast anyone as trans women, it should be trans women and the same for trans guys. You wouldn’t cast a cis woman to play a cis man, would you? So why should it be any different when representing the trans community?

A couple of the problems with the media industry is that a lot of movies about trans women/men start or play a main part when they are pre hormones/surgery, and from my experience at least, many if not a majority of OUT trans actors are already on hormones or have had surgery, or both. And man actors who are trans that arn't on hormones or have had surgery arn't out because it can REALLY tank your career trying to get male parts pre-T and vise versa.  Its a very narrow stepping ground that to play a pre-t/e trans person sometimes the only options are cis people. Because also, many trans people dont feel comfortable playing themselves pre transition. Because it means hours of makeup to look like the person you wanted to leave behind and paid so much to do so. Because this area of the film industry isn't fleshed out more then it gets tricky how to go about it.

Yup, its called "informed consent" some places do it, you just have to ask. Though i 100% recommend therapy. A therapist can really help get things sorted so your transition is easier than flying blind. They are usually, if you get one that knows what they're doing, a great way to help you affirm what you want and dont want and just generally get your ducks in a row.

This can happen as your muscles thicken the longer you're on T. I usually don't worry about it unless its a significant amount. Im on 1ml every 2 weeks so if a little comes out i just wipe it off, apply pressure for 5 minutes then go about my day as normal. If you're on a lower dose and a little comes out , i was told guess how much you lost and inject that amount in a second shot. Depends on your Endo i guess

So hey- trans/hormones question. I gained a LOT of weight since starting T. I don’t know if it’s poor eating, my medications, the T or all of them, but i’m roughly 190 now (as opposed to the ~130 of two years ago) My question is: would stopping HRT help me to lose weight? It’s something I’ve been turning over in my head since coming out as non binary. I’m trying to get off the medication that i’m suspicious about but I have a binge eating disorder and cannot change my diet drastically. I’ve been trying to exercise, but my body is terribly weak. So keeping up with exercise, will the T make a difference? Thanks in advance. -Roan

You need to figure out if the weight you've gained is muscle or fat. T makes you want to eat pretty much constantly. So you HAVE to watch that or it can make you get big fast. But i have a good diet and i still gained about 30lbs after starting T. But it was muscle as i went down about 3 pants sizes. T increases metabolism so if you're eating right and exercising you should see results.  But do yourself a favor and just toss the scale in the trash and start measuring yourself. Its a MUCH better way to see if you're where you want to be.

A lot og guys are under the impression that it grows. When what is actually happening as fat is moving out of your neck and going elsewhere. With less fat covering it, it LOOKS like it gets bigger and grows when its actually just been that size all along and you're just now seeing it without all the fat in the way.

Most of the posts i reply to are people asking for advice or just general answers. If i have the answer from my own experiences then it would be a disservice to said person if i withheld that from them. Especially people who want information on transitioning. If i can make someone's coming out/binding/getting hormones/finding a surgeon ect... any easier i will. As for the flower crown tumblrettes that i play with when I'm bored. Thats just because im a bad person who likes to make teenagers unhappy for fun. I can hardly resist myself when i see people who are full of shit. I just wanna drive them crazy. Tumblr is a wonderful place for a psychopath. Didn't know which long posts you meant. I covered both. But now that i know it annoys you i'll be sure to do it more often!ALSO! Congrats! You are my first ever unprovoked anon hate! I've literally been doing a lot of those long posts to GET anon hate. Getting a chest tattoo before top surgery

I’m wondering it it’s okay to get a tattoo before surgery. I know that the stretching of the skin and all that can change the way the tattoo looks, but I want to know if they would postpone surgery or if a new tattoo would prevent me from getting top surgery for a specific amount of time? 

Kind of like how you can’t donate blood for a certain amount of time after you get a new tattoo. I’m not getting a tattoo or top surgery any time soon, but I’d like to and I can’t find an answer to this question anywhere, thanks in advance!!

i got a tattoo on my hand about 2 weeks before surgery and it was an ordeal to find out if THAT was ok. I would say, just dont get a tattoo within a month OR MORE of when your surgery is scheduled. It depends on who is doing it as well. I would ask your surgeon when the time comes what his rules are. Because it verys person to person
