SHARED sensE partagé
by Diane Wiltshire in collaboration with Fabio Dolce and Mixed Reality Lab.
We are our bodies, inhabiting overlapping spaces. Intangible human interactions are at the centre of this collaborative work. Artist, Diane Wiltshire has created wearable devices and everyday technology to translate body data into multi sensory experiences.
In collaboration with Fabio Dolce, who's choreography subverts the usual relationships between partner and audience, the work creates an immersive interplay between the dancer's contact and active audience participation. Audience members will be encouraged to stand. Contains nudity.

Thanks to all the participants that have allowed their data to be collected for #SAM. below are some of their comments.
“it was liberating”
“mesmerised, to be inside the dance”
“ enthralled, privileged, vulnerable”
“it was a bit intimidating to start with”
“… it made me feel like I had created a new sense, actually.”
“I felt so in-tune with the dancer”
“One of the dancers looked at me and I though, oh fuck I’m involved in this”
“I might regret saying this but it was erotic”
Great to work with Denada-dance.com. Thanks to Carlos, Fabio and Marivi.

BOM is forging a new model of practice at the intersection of art, technology and science with social impact
Thanks to Birmingham Open Media for host the #SAM experiment for the last 2 weeks. We had over 35 participants that allowed their heartbeat and sweat to be collected. Thanks to everyone that came. For the next month, I will be in the Lab at Nottingham University, where I am an artist in residence for the Mixed Reality Lab. We will be looking at the data and be developing new wearable tech for the next experiment. Sound and Movement or #SAM is a collaboration between Diane Wiltshire and DeNada theatre dance. The performance will be in September.

This is the first part of a blog for the British Council, about my time in Indonesia showing my project ‘Sentiment’. Thanks to BOM, Birmingham Open Media.
As part of the Digital Design Weekend, Diane Wiltshire, a fellow at Birmingham Open Media (BOM), showcased her interactive art experience 'Sentiment', a special vest that you wear along with noise-cancelling headphones. As you listen to real life stories, you are also able to feel the emotions of those people speaking by the vibrations touching your skin through the vest.
Thanks to everyone involved in getting Sentiment to Indonesia for the Digital Design Weekend.
