Beauty Essentials – Touche Eclat

We all need a bit of help on Monday morning after a heavy weekend!

Touche Eclat is the most amazing product for eliminating dark circles around the eyes and is one of the key products used to achieve glowing, radiant looking skin. I use it constantly on shoots and daily on myself! It comes ready for use with it’s perfect ‘in built’ brush system, so simply apply to the areas you need it most.

To conceal: Use Touche Eclat underneath your eyes to brighten and lift. Apply it at the darkest part of the eye and blend upwards towards the eye. You might find you need to use a concealer underneath depending on the area you are trying to cover. Try Laura Mercier Perfect Camouflage for the perfect combination. 

To Highlight: Dab a small amount of product onto the top of your cheekbones, brow bones, the top of the cupids bow and center of the chin. You can also add a touch to your eyelids and the inside corner of your eyes. Blend the product with your finger or a brush. Use a patting motion to avoid taking too much product off or moving it around too much. You want to keep the highlights to specific areas of your face or the overall look of the product won’t be as effective.

Maybelline’s answer…..The DreamLumi pen is described as a ‘highlighting concealer’. I have used this product and it does a pretty good job! I actually find it a bit more moisturizing than Touche Eclat, so if you have dry skin this may be a good option for you. At only £6.99 you’re also making a big saving.

Loreals answer…..The Lumi Magique Touch of Light pen comes in at £8.49. This pen is silky soft and provides 24 hours of hydration for you skin. Again a good option for more dry skin-or if you like a super dewy finish! 

MAC’s answer…..Prep and Prime Highlighter pen is priced at £17.50. This gives you a very similar finish and slightly more or a concealing property. You may find this product offers enough concealer to be able to use it on it’s own underneath your eye area. 

The original Touche Eclat is priced at £25.00. Part of your money is going towards more expensive packaging, which sounds like a minus but can actually turn out to be a good thing. The Touche Eclat dispenser delivers small amounts of product at a time using a click system. This can save you a lot of product as it is very hard to dispense too much an end up wasting it.
