All relationships can survive mistakes, but they cannot survive patterns. Repeated behavior isn't a mistake, it's a decision, apologies lose meaning when the actions never change.
When a person becomes wise, the first thing they give up is showing off. They no longer feel the need to prove their intelligence, success, strength, or worth to anyone. Wisdom is knowing that validation gained from others is momentary, but self-love lasts much longer. The deeper a person understands life, the less interested they become in impressing people. They realize that true confidence is subtle and does not need an audience to exist. A wise person lets their actions speak while their ego gets silent. They understand that those who have truly found themselves no longer need to advertise who they are. And the most powerful people in the room are the ones who have nothing left to prove.
You become your highest self when you invest in what no one can ever steal: your mindset, your character, your integrity, your honesty, your discipline, and your capacity to stay kind.

How about you mind your own damn business
“and at some point I thought to myself: ‘no person deserves this,’ and I realized that includes even me.”
— Unknown
Your death will come on an ordinary day, in the middle of unfinished plans, and the world will continue on without you. So live a little.
Loneliness does not come from having no people around you, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to you. Loneliness is rarely about empty rooms. It is about carrying words you cannot say and truths you do not feel safe to share. Healing is learning to speak what matters most so you are no longer alone with it. This is the work of letting yourself be seen and known for who you really are. -CARL JUNG
I think that's what happens when you've lived a lonely childhood. You get too attached to people as you get older, in the hope that they'll give you the care and love that you missed out on and never leave you.
Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?
-Gautama Buddha
