How I imagine Sgaeyl was during Vi's threshing.
Sgaeyl: my love I think you need to come check out this cadet. She's ballsy and perfect for you.
Tairn: I wasn't planning on bonding again.
Sgaeyl: no seriously I think you need this rider. Plus my human gets all weird around her and I want to mess with him.
Tairn: Sgaeyl I'm not going to bond a rider just to mess with your moody teenager.
Sgaeyl: OK but Andarna is in danger and this tiny girl is fending her off alone while injured.
Tairn: ....I'm on my way.
Hi! I saw your post asking about a GSR fanfic with Grissom’s brother and was wondering if you found it??? It’s so rare to find fanfics that give Grissom a sibling and I would love to read it!
I don’t think I did. It’s been a while. I don’t read/write CSI fanfic now. Since Nov of 22’ I have moved onto writing for a different fandom
Dust buddies a tale in three parts aka the memes Shirley sends the UNIT WhatsApp group
I think the master probably showed up to Jo Grant's wedding in a paper thing disguise and when asked who he was answered 'oh let's just say I'm... An old friend'. When Jo was like 'i know it's you' he was like 'nooo you don't'
Everyone from UNIT wanted to kick him out but Jo was like no leave him be you'll ruin the reception so they just watched him suspiciously all day waiting for him to start shit but he never did.
I say he didn't try anything. He probably did some minor acts of mischief eg moving around the name cards to fuck w the seating arrangements. Helped himself to way too many canapes. That kind of thing.
#added some daffodils to the table arrangment on the brig's table just to watch his eye twitch #changed the date on the marriage certificate as one last hurrah of the unit dating controversy

Tegan plops down next to Ace, “what do you think Kate wanted to talk to us about?”
“I don’t know, it has been what 6 months since we met Yaz and Graham.” Tegan looks at her friend as she says the guy's name. Her friend is trying but failing to hold back a smile. “And last saw the Doctor. Graham even asked if I had contact info of anyone who traveled with the Doctor.”
“So you and Graham have been talking?”
“Yes, it’s nice.”
“Ace.” Kate comes into the room and Tegan stops asking her question.
“Do any of you want to go on another mission?”
“Not right now, my son finally got in contact with me and we are going to meet up in a few days.
“I guess I can, is it a solo mission?”
“I need to ask Graham and Dan.”
“I have already worked with Graham, we work well together. I don’t know Dan all that well.” Tegan looks at her friend's wheels turning in her head.
“Graham is already here, helping set up a kitchen with food for those who like meat and those that don’t.”
“Does he know that you are vegan,” Tegan asks her friend.
“Yes, we have met for a meal a few times.”
“How many?”
“Almost every week since we met.”
“Thank you both, I’ll go and ask Graham if he wants to go on a mission with you. Ace, you should tell your COO that you will be gone for a few months.” Kate says, to get their attention.
“What are Graham and I going to be doing?”
“There is a neighborhood up north that seems to be getting a lot of activity. You and Graham are going to pose as a married couple.”
“Oh.”
“It should be fine Ace, I saw you with him when we left the TARDIS, there was a connection there.” Kate looks at them, “you two can leave now.”
Ace gets up to leave first, “Tegan, you know Ace better than I do. Is there something going on between them?”
“I don’t know. I will get to the bottom of it. Ace may be good at keeping secrets from most people but not from me.” Tegan heads out. “Ace, wait up.”
She turns around, “what?”
“Ace, do you like Graham?”
She turns around and starts walking away, “no.”
“Admit it! You’re in love with Graham.”
“I am telling you I am not in lov,” Graham walks up to them, handing Ace a cup of tea.
“Hiya Ace.”
Ace looks at the smile on his lips then into his blue eyes. “I love you.”
“Wait what,” Graham asked, a little confused.
“Crap,” Ace whispers under her breath.
With a laugh Tegan adds, “called it.” She starts to walk away as Graham opens and closes his mouth at a loss for words.
“Graham,” Ace reaches for him. “Are you ok?”
“I’m a little lost. You love me?”
“It just came out.”
“So you don’t,” he looks away.
“That’s not it, I didn’t know until you walked up just now, I got the feeling.”
“Graham,” Kate calls for him.
“One second Kate,” Graham cups Ace’s cheek and brings her mouth to his as their lips meet both close their eyes. When he steps away, “I love you too. Ryan needs to come home to meet you.” He smiles before heading Kate’s office. Ace stands there still holding her cup.
Once into Kate's office, “I guess with what I just saw your answer will be yes.”
“What is it?”
“Ace has agreed and as you are one of the four that are actively working here, Tegan said no. Ace asked for you to be asked.”
“Ok?”
“Would you want to go on a long mission with her?”
“Yes.”
“You didn’t even let me finish.” Kate pauses, “you two will be living together, but have to pose as a married couple.”
He looks down at his wedding ring. “I love Ace, but I need to talk to Ryan first.”
“I understand.” Kate watches him with sad eyes. “Want me to tell Ace?”
“I should. She knows all about Grace and how it impacted me when she died.” Graham gets up from the chair and goes to find Ace.
She feels his presence, “Graham,” she turns and faces him, “you said no, why?”
“I didn’t say no, I said I have to talk to Ryan. I love you, I do, but I need him to know I am ready to move on. I want him to learn from me and not anyone else.” He looks deeply into her hazel eyes, his blue eyes cloudy with unshed tears. “I hope you don’t hate me for it.”
“No, if anything it makes me love you more. You are doing what I would do, putting the happiness of someone you love over your own for a time being.” She leans up and kisses his cheek. “Maybe ask if he can come home next weekend and the three of us can have dinner. I want him and you to know, I don’t want to replace Grace. I love hearing about her. Your wedding pictures, the first time I saw them brought tears to my eyes. You could see how much the two of you loved each other.”
“I think that might help him.”
“And you.” She places her hand over his heart, “this right here will always have a piece missing. I am looking to create a second piece, it won’t be a perfect fit, but I hope we can help make it fit.”
“You’re well on your way to it. Please excuse me so I can call Ryan.” Ace steps to the side and Graham hurries away.
Ace turns back to Tegan, “let it out,” she can tell her friend is holding back laughter.
“Before I do, how are you doing?”
“Fine, I understand why Graham wants to talk to Ryan first.”
“Good, now I told you so.”
“You did,” she rolls her eyes.
“So after Ryan is ok that Graham is moving on, what is your first move?”
“We will be meeting with Kate about the mission that we pose as a married couple.”
“So you are going from being good friends that aren’t dating, but secretly love each other, to a married couple.”
“What better way to get to know each other any better, right?” She smiles as she spies Graham talking animatedly on his phone.
….
“I am glad I got a hold of you son.”
“What’s up Grandad?”
“You know how I told you about Ace?”
“I do, do you want me to meet her?”
“I do.”
“You like her.”
“You could say that.”
“What are you saying?”
“I want to tell you in person.”
“I was coming home this weekend anyway, invite her over for dinner.”
“Thank you, I’ll keep you updated about it.”
…..
That weekend, “she wanted to have dinner here?”
“I think Ace wanted to make an impression of you.”
“Both you and Yaz sing her praises. Yaz could tell you liked her.”
“I more than like her. We haven’t been on a date yet though.”
“I doubt that, but once you and Nan were able to, you moved quickly.” Graham knocks on the door, they hear rushing feet and the door is thrusted open.
“Good Evening, Graham, Ryan. Dinner is about ready, everything took longer than usual to prepare.”
“What are you making,” Graham asks.
“Spaghetti, made two sauces, one for the two of you and one for me. I’m hoping I made yours correct. I’m vegan, but made a meat sauce for the two of you.” She tells them as she lets them in.
“I’ll help you finish the sauce,” Graham says as the three of them enter the kitchen. “Red pot?”
“You know it.”
“Can I help,” asks Ryan.
“Maybe set the table, I have some red wine in the fridge, if you want some.”
“I’m fine,” after setting the table, Ryan watches as Graham moves Ace by putting his hands on her hips. She shoots him a smile.
“So Ryan, how’s the vlog going?”
“My one about Spain was really popular. Grandad tells me that you also run a charity.”
“I do, the Professor helped reign in some of my more how would you say anarchist tendencies. It took until I was an adult though. It’s why I fought my board to let me have teens that are one step from Young Offender Institution helping out around the building.”
“Wait, you're Dorothy McShane?”
“I am, Graham never told you?”
“Only that you are Ace, wonderful, have a beautiful heart, and that the Doctor traveled with you when you were a teenager.”
“You really don’t care that I am Dorothy.”
“Being Dorothy is only a part of you. Every part of you is Ace.” He turns back to the stove, turning it off.
….
Throughout the dinner Ryan was watching them, keeping up with small talk. He thinks Graham hasn’t been telling him the whole truth. Once they are home, “so what did you think of her?”
“How long have the two of you been dating?”
“We haven’t officially started dating.”
“The way the two of you were acting tonight, it looked to me that you were dating.”
“We have been spending a lot of time together. I just didn’t want to move farther without you knowing.”
“Why?”
“I didn’t want Ace to be treated like I was.”
“Grandad, you made a few comments about my dysgraphia that were ableist. I also didn’t have an adult male influence on me, until I got to know you.”
“I wish I met your Nan when you were a kid. Our time together was too short.”
“What are your feelings for Ace?”
“I am falling in love with her. Kate also wants us to pose as a married couple in a small part of London.”
“Do you want me permission to go on a mission?”
“I just want to know if you’re ok with me moving on. You will always be a part of my life, your Nan will always be a big part of my heart. It’s just that.”
Ryan raises his hand to stop Graham talking, “I understand. Ace seems like a good person. I have heard enough about her from you and Yaz, except that she is Dorothy Bloody McShane.” Graham laughs.
“You could say she’s ace.”
“I guess, what I am saying is that I know you will never let me not be a part of your life and you will always love Nan. She would also want you to move on. So move on and make your move.”
“Thank you son. You have no idea how happy this makes me. I never expected to fall for someone again.” Graham gets up and brings Ryan in for a hug, who rolls his eyes in a joking manner.
….
The following Monday morning. Graham beats everyone to UNIT HQ, he’s trying to calm his nerves, drinking the largest coffee he could find, with one for Kate sitting on the table next to him. “You’re here early,” Kate says to him walking up to her office door.
“I brought you coffee.”
“Does Ace know?”
“Know what?”
“That you’re interested.”
“She knows that I love her, what she doesn’t know is that Ryan gave his ok with me moving on and knows about the mission you want her and I to go on.”
“Your answer is yes then?”
“An enthusiastic yes. It’s just been a while since I let a woman know I was interested and lived with one.”
“You lived with Yaz and the Doctor.”
“In a spaceship that not only traveled in time and space, but was bigger on the inside.”
“Just talk things out with her. You two will be great at this. I heard you pretended to be married to the Doctor in one of your adventures with her.”
“The place we were in wasn't the best.”
“Isn’t that most places,” Kate cracks the joke.
“It was.”
“You know where you and Ace are going might seem safe on the outside, but it isn’t all that safe.”
“I do, but we will be growing closer and getting to know each other inside and out. Any danger we face will be worth it.”
“That’s good, I just have to get your jacket together and let Ace know that the two of you are a go for operation married.” Graham thanks her and leaves UNIT, heading to A Charitable Earth.
“Graham, what are you doing here,” asks Nyssa, Ace’s COO and wife of Tegan.
“Is Ace free?”
“She should be for the next 15.”
“Thank you.”
“I take it, you are going on that mission,” she asks him as he turns to go to Ace’s office.
“Yep, and I want to tell her in person.” He knocks on her office door.
“Come in,” he hears the voice that could read him the dictionary and it would make him happy. Opening the door, blue and hazel eyes meet. “I heard from Kate,” Ace gets up from her desk and they meet in the middle of her office.
“I wanted to be the one to tell you.” He lays his hands along her waist.
“Well starting in a few weeks, so UNIT can find us a house and get us and a jacket for us to read and memorize.” She rests her hands on his chest, smiling, feeling his heartbeat. She closes the distance, pressing her lips to his in a gentle kiss. Tightening his arms around her, he deepens the kiss. They both moan as tongues start to duel.

“That was amazing,” Graham says out of breath. “You were right after each time we had to wait, the first time after is always explosive.”
“I’ve been thinking about Tegan.”
“Why?”
“We are getting our happy ending,” she turns to him, “not during sex, you are the only thing on my mind during sex.”
“And you.”
“No, just you. After you learned my body at least. Now back to what I was talking about.”
“Something about your best friend, who you weren’t thinking about while we were having sex.”
“Well, if we figure it out she can have sex herself. I want to get Nyssa here to earth.”
“How will we do that?”
“We have to put our heads together to come up with a way.”
“Can we do that in the morning? I am tired.”
“I tired you out?”
“You do that often.”
She slaps him softly, “hey.”
“Only in bed,” he takes her hand and kisses her fingers before placing it over his heart and turning on his side. “Night my Love.”
“Night my Love,” Ace replies back before she feels his breathing even out as he falls asleep. “Soon, I will ask you to marry me.”
…..
The following morning, Ace wakes up to Graham entering the bedroom with a tray of food in his hands. “Breakfast in bed?”
“Yeah, you and I need food so we can get started on getting Nyssa here to earth”
“Thank you.”
“I care about Tegan too, and maybe this will help Yaz get over the Doctor.”
“You think Tegan getting her long-lost love back will help Yaz get over a love that she won’t.”
“It might help her move on.”
“I think only time will help Yaz. You didn’t make pancakes,” Ace asks, slightly disappointed.
“You really like my pancakes, don’t you?”
“One of the reasons I asked you to move in with me.”
“I wanted something easy so we can get to work on getting Nyssa back,” he smiles as he sits on the bed next to Ace and takes his spoon, dipping it in his oatmeal. “You have been getting after me to eat healthier. This oatmeal is heart healthy.”
“Good take after your old ticker, so we can make Tegan happy.”
“And for us to get married. Now, eat up. I may have enlisted some help from a few friends. The more help we can get the better.”
“I only told you last night, how long have you been up?”
“Since 5AM. I know some of us like to get up early on weekends.”
“Jo.”
“And a few others that like to go for an early morning run. I also texted some that liked to sleep in.”
“John Nathan and Ryan?”
“Yes, John Nathan because next to you, he knows Tegan the best.”
“You’re wonderful,” she grabs her spoon and takes a mouthful.
“You are.” He takes another bite, sitting on the bed, Ace relaxes into him as she eats.
…
“When is everyone showing up,” asks Ace as she gets some cups out.
“Soon,” he takes her hand, “Ace, we don’t need to set up the house, they are our friends and family.”
“They are doing me a favor.”
“They want Tegan to get everything she deserves out of her life. She deserves to have her long lost love at her side. You and I both got our second shot at real love, she hasn’t had one since Tegan.” There is a knock at the door.
“Can you get that Graham, I want to put some water on.” He laughs to himself as he heads to open the door.
“Good morning Lovies,” Jo looks around, “where’s Ace?”
“Putting a pot on.”
“She didn’t need to do that.”
“It’s Ace, she has people coming over to help her out, she wants to do something for them.”
“I have bagels,” Jo informs Graham as Ace enters the living room.
“I guess someone didn’t need to make us oatmeal,” Ace finds herself a spot on her sofa after giving Jo a hug. Graham joins her.
“Any time spent with you in our bed, is time well spent.” She shakes her head as Jo laughs.
“Cliff and I were the same, liked to talk, eat food and of course have plenty of sex in bed. Whether it was in a house, on a cot or in a car. Why do you think we had as many kids as we did?”
“You found a love that you didn’t lose at a young age.”
“Maybe if I hadn’t lost Mike, we might’ve had kids.”
“You would’ve made a great mum, Ace.” Graham puts his arm around her and kisses the side of her head. There is another knock on the door. “The doors open,” he shouts, more show up, each with some food or drinks with them.
“Sorry, we’re late, I had to drag someone out of bed,” Yaz says, pulling Ryan in behind her.
“Why did you do that?” Ryan moans.
“Son, have you checked your phone,” Graham asks, looking to see if there were more seats available for Ryan and Yaz.
“No, Yaz didn’t give me time to grab my phone.”
“Well, Graham called asking for help to bring Nyssa back. She deserves her true love back. I won’t get mine.”
“Oh Yaz,” Ace gets off the couch and wraps her in her arms. “You will find someone who loves you and will want to show it every day.”
“You and Tegan have told me this before.” Yaz moans. “Can we please get back to the issue at hand?”
“You know, my granddaughter, River, had this thing called a vortex manipulator. The one time she was able to visit me, she told me how it worked. It can transport people not only to different times but different planets too. If UNIT or someone has ways to contact my elusive granddaughter.” Brain speaks up, “I wouldn’t mind a family reunion. My grandson is coming up here, with his grandkids. If River could meet her great nieces and nephews.”
“So you want to see River for more than one reason. You know we could get her at any point in her timestream,” Kate informs him. “UNIT doesn’t have a way to contact her but we have two people here, who can contact her. Psychic Paper to psychic paper connection.”
“Graham,” Ace turns to Graham as he starts to get up.
“My psychic paper is in my brown leather jacket. If it’s possible for us to get this done in one day, then we let Nyssa get used to life here.”
“Then the two of you can get married,” Jo adds excitedly.
“We aren’t even engaged,” Graham says, glad that Ryan is keeping Ace’s ring at his place.
“That’s hogwash, you live together, you love each other, it’s all just semantics. The love I see when the two of you look at each other is the love I saw every time Cliff looked at me.”
“Ok, message sent, I said we need help by a River Song. We are trying to find a former companion.” Graham stops talking as a zapping noise is heard.
“Who is this companion that I need to find,” a woman with wild curly hair asks.
“Her name is Nyssa, the Doctor and Tegan last saw her as she stayed on a ship to help eradicate a disease. Tegan has been in love with her for years.”
“I told my husband that, he said he knew Tegan has been married a few times and adopted a son. I tried to tell him that doesn’t always mean much. What is the ship's name?”
“Treminus, I’m her son.”
“Nice to meet you John Nathan, so how would you like for me to bring Nyssa here?”
“My mum deserves to be happy. So please do whatever it takes to get Nyssa back.”
River presses buttons on her vortex manipulator and is gone. “Where did she go,” Ryan asks.
“She used her vortex manipulator, she can be gone for a few seconds or more. Vortex manipulators are tricky time travel, the Doctor hates them and only uses them as a last resort.” Kate explains as the sound is heard again.
“I’m gunna be sick,” a young male voice says.
“You’ll be fine,” River says, as the other two with her get their bearings.
“Now I hear, Tegan Jovanka wants to see me and may love me,” Nyssa asks, hands on her hips.
“There is no may about it, I’m Ace, her best friend. I got my partner and he called or texted our friends and family, most of them came to help us figure it out. I see you brought your kids I presume?”
“Yes, Neeka and Adric.”
“Adric?”
“Tegan has told you about him?”
“Yes, all of us know how the two of you lost that young boy who sacrificed himself.”
“Mum, where is Tegan, I want to meet the Fiery Princess you told us stories about growing up.”
“She’s only one call away, she might be wondering why no one is picking up her calls,” the door opens, “and that’s her.”
“Where the hell, Nyssa.” Tegan stops.
“You have found good people.”
“All but my son have known them at one point in their lives.”
“Try whole life, when I was really little, even though I hadn’t met the Time Lord, the Doctor was Uncle Doctor,” Kate jokes.
“Minus myself, most have met the Doctor past age 18,” Ace points out. “Now Tegan, hug or kiss the woman that you have loved and missed for over 40 years.”
…..
3 months later, “so she’s asking him today,” Nyssa asks Tegan as they are waiting for their kids.
“She is, after the meeting. Are Neeka and Adric going to be ok with going to a meeting, John Nathan hasn’t met the Doctor, but has lived through a number of alien incursions, with Daleks, Cybermen and more.”
“They’ll be fine, plus Neeka is enjoying picking up work with Ace. I know, and Ace loves getting to know her. She told me that she is adopting Neeka as her niece.” Three people in their early 30s walk up laughing.
“Come on slow pokes, we want to get there so we can see two people who fell in love over 2 years ago get engaged.” Tegan yells for them.
“Yes Mum,” all of them say together. Nyssa laughs as she takes Tegan’s hand, the five of them walk into the building, full of most everyone the Doctor has met, with help of River who got some from the times they were left in. She didn’t stay though, knowing the two people she wanted most in the world, can’t live their time.
After the meeting is over, “Ace, can I talk to you?”
“You don’t need to ask me.” She follows him away from everyone.
“You know that you make me happier than I have been in years.”
“I do.”
“I want to remain this happy; Ryan has been hiding something for me.” He takes a small box out of his pocket, “I got this around a year ago when we got back from our vacation,” he gets down on one knee. “Dorothy, will you marry me?”
“You’re an idiot,” she says with a smile on her face, as she too gets on the ground, getting a box out of her pocket. “Does this show my answer,” she opens the box to show a ring. They both start to laugh as they slip rings onto each other's fingers. Everyone starts to cheer.
“Now we need a wedding,” Neeka interjects, interrupting Ace and Graham’s kiss.
“Graham and I need to do the planning.”
“All we need is for the two of you to find what you're going to wear and your wedding bands. Though the wedding bands can wait. We can use UNIT’s landing pad, all of us know that Tegan and Ryan are standing up with you. Tegan, Nyssa, Yaz and Neeka can you take Ace to get a dress of some sort. Ryan and Dan can you make sure the suit Graham has is ready and the rest of us go home grab your nice clothes and we all meet at UNIT HQ in an hour.”
“I also want Kent and my family there.”
“Fine tomorrow.” Kate adds with a smile.
…
The next day, “so yesterday you were asking the man to marry you and today you are getting married.” Liam states as he walks into Kate’s office being used by Ace to help her get ready.”
“It was Kate’s idea, Jo had one of her grandkids get ordained online. Now go find your seats.”
“What no I love you,” Liam jokes.
“You know I love the both of you, now go, so we can start the ceremony.”
“Still a no to giving you away,” Liam walks away in a mock pout.
A few minutes later Tegan knocks on the door. “I’m ready,” she stands up and walks to the door. “You are going to be next.”
“I am getting to know Nyssa again.”
“You still love her though.”
“Very much, but we agreed to take time to get to know each other as adults and our kids to get to know each other.”
“I see, now let's get me married again. You in front.”
“I know, I was your maid of honor at your wedding to Mike.” Tegan moves to her spot, as Ace walks up to Graham, she feels a slight breeze and a hand on her arm, only Graham felt the same thing.
“Now that we have both bride and groom here, I should start. Last night I got a call from the couple asking me to officiate their wedding. When I asked why, they knew I would include a short message about Mike and Grace, on whom I am sure are right here with us today, happy that these two have found happiness and are ready to join hands for the rest of their lives.” Jo continues on, Mike and Grace standing next to them as Ace and Graham share their first kiss as a married couple.

“I’m going to be busy for part of the day making some Nitro,” she says, getting out of the shower.
“Want me to join after I do laundry?” He asks, wrapping his arms around her.
“Let's have some breakfast first. I’m hungry.” Her statement is made obvious with her stomach growling.
“We need to make sure you are fed before you work with explosives.”
“Can you make your pancakes?”
“Anything for you,” he kisses her cheek.
“Then go make my food, I need to find my bomb making clothes.”
“Please put your hair up.”
“Don’t want soot in my hair again?”
“Love, it wasn’t coming out last time, and you have thin hair.”
“I thought you loved my thin hair.”
“I do, I love running my fingers through it no matter the length.”
“You still haven’t told anyone about why I cut and colored my hair last time.” She shakes his head before heading to the kitchen.
“No, I haven’t, I will not tell them why you cut your hair short and dyed it a darker brown.
“Good,” they arrive in the kitchen.
“This morning, to wake up your gorgeous brian, I am going to show you how to make these pancakes, we have blueberries right?”
“Right.”
“We will need a cup of those, a cup of your egg replacement, flour, your favorite oil, and sugar.” He looks to see Ace’s smile. “What is that smile for?”
“I am giving you some sugar.” She pushes him to his back is resting against a wall, and starts kissing him. When she needs to breathe, she steps back. “Now feed me Graham O’Brien.”
“On it Dorothy McShane.” He taps her hips making her move. She gets out all the ingredients.
“So you want to join me later today making Nitro?”
“I love making things go boom with you. It’s a bit of a turn on sometimes.”
“Like you cooking for me is, sometimes.”
“Oh does that turn you on? Then I need to cook for you more, maybe with just an apron on.”
“As long as you are protecting an important organ of yours.”
“My eyes, so I can forever see you?” Ace tosses her head back in laughter.
“While cooking you haven’t splashed your eyes, but you have splashed your pants.” Her eyes drop down.
“I know what you meant, I just wanted to hear you laugh. It’s a glorious sound.”
“So is yours.”
……
“Ace, the laundry is done, I’m just going to carry it up to the bedroom.” Ace turns to smile from the kitchen sink as she hears a scream from the direction of the stairs. She drops the dishes into the sink to follow the sound.
“Graham,” she runs to the stairs, clothes thrown everywhere, Graham unconscious on the stairs. “No!” She runs to him, tears streaming down her face. “K9 call for help.” She says in between tears. “Graham, please wake up. I can’t do this alone, please wake up.” She hears sirens, then knocking on the door. “It’s open.”
“Ma-am.”
“His name is Graham O’Brien, my partner. We’ve been together for almost a year. We were on vacation across the ring of fire a few months ago.”
“Ma-am, please, what happened?”
“I was in the kitchen, he was doing laundry, carrying the laundry; I hear him scream. I come running.”
“We need to take him in.” putting a neck brace on, they put him on the stretcher.
“I’m coming with,” Ace’s raspy voice breaks through. She gets into the rig with Graham and the paramedics.
“It won’t be long, Ma-am.”
“Wherever we go, I want the best.”
“We need to make sure you’re his medical proxy before that.”
“If I’m not, his grandson, Ryan Sinclair will be.”
“Can you call him?”
“Do I look like I am in any condition to call anyone? The man I want to marry and have been trying to find the proper jewelry for a man to wear after being proposed to, is right there, unconscious. How about someone reach for my phone and look up the only Ryan in it.” She tries to reach for Graham’s hand.
“Ma-am, stop, we need to work on him. We are almost at the A&E.”
“When will he wake up?”
“We have no way of knowing what is going on. Now shut it so we can focus.” Sitting back putting her hand over her mouth as the ambulance comes to a quick halt. The doors swing open and he gets unloaded into the ambulance bay. She follows the gurney as doctors shout at each other. As his vitals are checked someone comes up behind her.
“Ma-am, we’re going to take him upstairs to get a head CT. Do you have somebody that you can call?”
“I do, his grandson and their friend.”
“Anyone for you?”
“Yeah.”
“You should call them.”
..
Sometime later she feels someone come up behind her. Turning around, “Ryan, Tegan.”
“Where is he?”
“Getting tests done. They won’t tell me more, since I’m not family.”
“He told me that he was making you the person to make his medical decisions. I am away half the time and he loves and trusts you.”
“He didn’t tell me,” the doctor comes up.
“Family of Graham O’Brien,” a young voice interrupts them.
“I’m his partner, we live together. His grandson tells me that I am his.”
“Dorothy McShane.”
“That’s me.”
“You’re his emergency contact. He’s sedated, the head CT found nothing. He’s sedated and will remain asleep for a few hours at least.”
“Can we see him?” She asks, trying not to put her hand over her mouth.
“Right this way,” the doctor steps aside as the three enter the room. Ace runs to his side.
“Graham,” she grabs his hand, “I’m right here, I’m not leaving your side.” She kisses his hand. She feels a hand on her shoulder.
“Ace, he is going to be fine,” Tegan tells her.
“How do you know that? He is right here hooked up to machines, just like Mike was.” They hear a metallic greeting sound. “Not right now, I can’t deal with you.”
“What about the face you know,” a Scottish voice says, stepping out. I am from the memory TARDIS, I got a warning telling me that you needed me.”
“I need Graham awake.”
“I know.”
“I want to marry him. I never thought I would want to get married again.”
“He wants to marry her too, Doctor. Grandad hasn't stopped talking to me about it for the past month.”
“Professor, I can’t leave his side.”
“I know that, I’m sure if we ask, we could get a few chairs in here. We can sit to the side and let Ryan be at his side for a few moments.” He walks closer to Ace, gently pressing his fingers to her temple, before she can push his hands away, she falls asleep.
“Doctor what did you do to her,” Tegan demands, putting her hands on her hips.
“Put her to sleep, she’ll be awake in a few hours, hopefully in time for Graham to be awake. I hate seeing her like this. Ryan can you please get another chair, I want Ace to be able to sleep on my shoulder.” As the Doctor sits down arranging it so Ace’s head is on his shoulder. His eyes stay open, watching Graham’s vitals in case of a change, Ace talks in her sleep.
‘Graham, my love, my second great love, please come back to me.’
“I know they love each other, but do you think they will get married,” the Doctor asks Tegan and Ryan.
“Your surrogate daughter has been married before, Doctor.”
“My what?”
“Come off it, you show up here in your 7th face, get Ace to sleep and try and make her comfortable; she might as well be your daughter. You also look at her like how you looked at Nyssa.”
“I.”
“Doctor, Tegan’s right, I know if Grandad saw this, he would be happy.”
..
A few hours later Ace wakes up, “Professor, what did you do to me this time.”
“Made it so you could sleep.”
“Why would you do that?
“You needed to calm down. I remembered you would always calm down after a good sleep.”
“Any of those times was the person I loved lying in a hospital bed hooked up to wires?” She stands up walking closer to Graham’s bed.
“No.”
“Exactly.”
“Ace, we know you love Graham, but he’s going to be ok,” Tegan tries to comfort her friend.
“I ALREADY LOST ONE MAN THAT I LOVED! I WILL NOT BE DOING THAT AGAIN!” Her chest heaves as Tegan steps closer to her and wraps Ace in her arms. Ace tries to fight it.
“You will not be losing Graham tonight or anytime soon.” Tegan says.
“How do you know that? You know how quickly I lost Mike. I can’t go through that again.”
“You’re not,” says a quiet voice.
“Graham.”
“That’s me,” she plops on the chair next to his bed. “Did I fall on the stairs?”
“You did.”
“We didn’t get to make Nitro or do what we usually do afterwards, did we?”
After she laughs softly and wiping some hair from his face, “no, we didn’t. You probably won’t be able to make Nitro for a while.”
“And the other thing.”
“We probably won’t be able to do it for a while, or at least until your doctor gives you the ok.”
“At least we can cuddle.”
“There’s that.”
“Ace.”
“Yes my love.”
“I was hinting for you to lay down next to me.”
“I don’t want to hurt you.”
“It was only me head that I hit, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Then you can have your head on me chest and I’ll have no issue.” She looks around before getting on the bed. “See no problem,” she rests her arm across his torso and her head over his heart.
“You’re ok,” she sighs, “please never scare me like that again.”
“I’ll try my best,” his arm tightens around her and kisses her head.
“Grandad, how are you feeling,” Ryan asks him.
“I’m fine, just wondering how I fell up the stairs.”
“K9 can probably figure it out.”
“What can K9 do, rewind the day?”
“Don’t do that,” Graham adds in a rush.
“Don’t you want to know what happened Graham,” asks the Doctor.
“It was a freak accident,” Ace interjects.
“Ace, I think it would be best.”
“Doctor, they are very much into each other. You would never think that they are closer to 60 than 25.”
“What do you mean?”
“Doctor, they bone each other often, probably after every time they make Nitro.”
“Tegan, please, I go to their house often and don’t want to picture the surfaces they have infected.”
“Ryan, it’s good that they love each other.”
“I know, I just don’t need to think about their sex life.” Ryan turns as there is a knock coming from behind him.
“I see our patient is awake.”
“I am doctor, when can I go home?”
“Tomorrow, we want to keep you for overnight observation. You shouldn’t be in the bed with him Ms. McShane.”
“I wanted her as close to me as possible; I still do.”
“Visitor time is over.” Ace’s arm tightens around Graham.
“Go home Love, pick up the laundry please. I’m sure I won’t be able to do much for the next few days.” He bends his head, ignoring the throb to kiss her. “Tegan, Ryan, Doc, if you are staying, please take her home.”
“Come on Ace, we haven’t had a girls night in ages, you do need to tell me a few things that you hadn’t.” Ace gets up from the bed.
“I love you Graham O’Brien. I’ll be here as soon as they let me in here in the morning.”
“I’ll be waiting.” She bends down again before Tegan grabs her arm and leaves the hospital.
…
“So you are ready to get married again,” Tegan asks her friend as they walk inside the house.
“Is that a surprise to you?”
“Not really, I told you so that if you let yourself love Graham and let him love you, the two of you would be happy. I’m glad you are getting your happy ending.”
“With the Professor and his memory TARDIS, maybe one day, you can get yours.”
“I am happy that I have my son.”
“I also want to meet your Nyssa.”
“She isn’t my Nyssa.”
“Fine, the woman you have been in love with for 40 years.”
“First, we are going to plan your wedding.”
“Graham hasn’t asked me yet.”
“Hello woman, this is 2023, you can ask the man yourself.”
“I have looked at rings, I just don’t want to emasculate him.”
“Graham wouldn’t feel like that, didn’t you kiss him first, before the two of you even admitted to liking each other?”
“Yes, and we had trouble stopping after we had the chance to talk. Ryan was the only person that could get us to stop.”
“His grandson.”
“Yes, I promised Ryan that I would do everything possible so Graham wouldn’t get hurt. He’s in the hospital.”
“Yes, and Graham’s words, it was a freak accident. Now I am going to be your Maid of Honor, right?”
“Who else would I want to stand up there with me? This better be a longer marriage than before.”
“It will be, for the both of you.”
“Good, I was telling the truth when I said I can’t lose another husband.”
“I know you were. I think you should get your sleep so you can be awake when the hospital starts letting in visitors in the morning.” Tegan grabs Ace’s hand.
“What are you doing?”
“Making sure you get to bed. It’s not like I haven’t done this before.”

Graham is throwing another pair of jeans into his suitcase as arms come around him, “so a place with jeans.”
“I gave you items to pack.” He smiles and tightens her arms around his waist and feels a kiss dropped to his shoulder.
“A swimsuit is one of them.”
“One of the places has some gorgeous water that we can spend some time in. I packed my speedo.”
“I am the only person that would want to see you in one and out of one,” she winks at him as she throws another pair of trainers in her bag.
“I might have to find some swim shorts then.”
“You will model that speedo for me though.”
“Anything for you my dear, so we have someone watching our house, Ryan’s and of course Kent with your charity.”
“Who asked if this was a surprise honeymoon.”
“No, we aren’t married yet. One day though.”
“One day?”
“Yes, Ace. I would love to call you my wife one day.”
“Not yet, though. I agree, I would like to be your wife.” A sigh escapes her throat.
“What’s wrong?”
“I never thought I’d see the day when I was ok with being someone’s wife.”
“I know where you are coming from. We both never thought we would fall in love again, but here we are.”
“Here we are. You’re not proposing yet, are you?”
“No, would you like to get married one day?”
“I don’t know yet. I love you, but I am not ready.” She looks at him, “are you ok?”
“Why wouldn’t I be? I want to be with you.”
“I just don’t want you to feel like you are missing out.”
Turning her around, “what exactly am I missing? I love you. I don’t need a piece of paper that says to the world that I love you and you love me. We both have been married that ended in tragedies. If you never want to get married, that’s ok. I still love you.” Wrapping her in his arms, “Ace, you mean so much to me.”
“And you mean a lot to me. Now get out, you are distracting me. I need to finish before Yaz picks us up.” Kissing her quickly he leaves the bedroom.
…..
After the car is packed and they are on their way to the airport, “Ace, you told me that Tegan and Nyssa were not like you and her.”
“Very different, those two loved each other. When Nyssa left there were times Tegan would just stand there in their room looking at her science equipment. After about a year, she was done. Married quickly, divorced, then met her second husband.”
“She’s been married twice?”
“Yes, both horrendous. Her heart always belonged to Nyssa. She wants everyone to find the happiness she can’t have. It’s why she pushed so hard for Graham and I to get together. She knew how happy he would make me.” Ace looks at Graham.
“You make me happy too,” he tells her, they hear gagging from the driver's seat.
“You’ll find your person soon. I have more than one person. Tegan and Graham.”
“The Doctor was mine.”
“The Doctor cares about us, but they are almost incapable of being someone’s person. Yes, he was the closest thing I had to a father, or even a good parent.”
“Until he started playing mind tricks on you.”
“I know. Did I ever tell you about the money I found in my name that made it so that I could start my charity.”
“How much did you find,” Yaz asks.
“2.5 million pounds. That was enough for me to start and set up a home. Then I met Mike a few years later. I had a life insurance policy made for myself, and he made one without my knowing. His life insurance helped me build my bomb shelter. A safer place to build my nitro.”
“Grace’s life insurance went to Ryan and I. He doesn’t know that I made sure he got part of it. Since I was her husband, they tried to say all of it went to me. I fought with them saying Ryan was her grandson, her pride and joy. He should at least get part of it.”
“Didn’t he get half of it,” Yaz asks as she pulls into Heathrow's parking lot A.
“He did, he doesn’t know I fought for it. Please don’t tell him Yaz.”
“I won’t, do you know when he is coming home?”
“We talked to him the other night,” Ace starts to talk as a horn honks, “he’ll be back the day we are.”
“All three of you will have jetlag.” After Yaz parks, she helps them get out their bags. “Have fun, but not too much.” Graham, knowing Yaz says nothing, just grabs his bag with one hand and Ace’s with the other.
…
“An almost 10 hour plane ride, Graham.” They walk onto their plane.
“Can you not handle that length of time with me?” He jokes as he puts their bags over them in the compartment.
“Oh you know I can, but we can’t do one of my favorite things to pass the time.”
“Making nitro?”
“Graham, are you part of the mile high club?”
“What do you mean?”
“Have you ever had sex on a plane?”
“No I haven’t.”
“Get that blanket and drape it over your lap.”
“I can’t yet, have to wait until the plane takes off.”
“You’re no fun,” she kisses his cheek.
“Disgusting, we are right next to the honeymooners,” a woman of 20 says as she passes by them. Ace sits back and Graham tries to grab her hand.
“Don’t listen to her, we are just two fools in love.” She relaxes as preflight procedures begin. Once the flight is up in the air Graham gets the blanket and puts it over his lap. “Ace.”
“Does it look like we are married?”
“I don’t know, but what matters is us and no one else.”
“Why do I let what others say impact us?”
“We haven’t had the best of luck and this vacation is like a trail to see if we can get away without work getting in the way.”
“West Coast USA?”
“Seattle, and a drive down to California, a short layover in Hawaii, then a flight to Japan.”
“Why those places?”
“Places along the ring of fire.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.” Ace looks down at the blanket and reaches underneath it.
…..
Walking out of the doors of SEATAC airport, rain starts to pour. “Home Sweet Home, right,” jokes Graham.
“Maybe not totally.” She takes his hand while pulling her bag. “Though my home is where you are.” Graham brings their hands to his lips.
“We have the rest of today to do anything. Check in is in three hours.”
“I hear Pikes Place Market is wonderful.”
“Let’s get on a bus.”
“I hear they have this thing called the Sounder that can take us there.”
“Let’s see if they have a run coming up,” he says.
After checking her phone, Ace sighs, “no Sounder today.” The rain lets up a little and the sun comes out.
“Anything else you want to do?”
“Where is our hotel?”
“Downtown Seattle, walking distance from many pubs and bars, the stadiums, and their convention center.”
“More than one in the area. Their baseball team is at one park and next door is Lumien Field is where the lesser football and the better football is played.”
Scrunching up her face, “you really did your research.”
“I want you to have a relaxing time.”
“Most of our time our time together is relaxing.”
“Still.”
“How about we go to the hotel, wait in the lobby until check in, then spend the rest of the night in our room.” After ordering an Uber™, they make their way to the hotel.
…
The next morning, Graham wakes up first, props himself on his elbow and watches as Ace’s eyes flutter in her sleep.
“Stop being creepy, and your breath smells.” A groggy Ace says.
“Good morning, you were dreaming.”
“One tends to dream when she is sleeping. Don’t you dream?”
“I don’t need to dream much anymore.” He gets off the bed after kissing her forehead.
“You’re sappy.”
“I’ll brush my teeth and get us something to eat.”
“I’ll take a shower; alone.”
“On my way my Queen.” He bows before turning to the door
“Stop, just stop.” Graham stops and faces Ace. “I am not a queen.”
“You deserve to be treated like one.” He turns back to the bathroom door and quickly brushes his teeth before heading to get some breakfast.
..
Hours later they are walking down the streets of downtown, “Graham.”
“Hmm.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too, we are almost there. I didn’t plan for there not being a game. If there was, I would've tried to get tickets.”
“I am fine with just seeing the building,” she brings his lips down for a kiss.
….
The following week, Graham gets the car he is renting and they get on I-5. “Are you ready for the longest drive of your life?”
”How long is this drive?”
"A little over 15 hours, just you, me and the open road.” He smiles at her as they turn right onto the I-5 South ramp to Tacoma, Washington and Portland, Oregon. Ace looks out the window as Graham listens to directions from the car’s GPS.
When they arrive at their hotel over 16 hours later, because of traffic and the needing to stop for food and bathroom breaks. Both are sluggish and after checking in, slump their way to their room and fall onto the bed.
The following morning, Ace is woken up by the bed shaking vigorously, “Graham, stop shaking the bed.”
“I am in the doorway of the bathroom. I had to make sure I had to pee before I woke you up.”
“You mean I almost slept through my first earthquake.” She sits up, “great we are in California, the state that is known for semi regular earthquakes, and I sleep through one.” Crossing the room he takes both of Ace’s hands in his and drags her up. Let’s wait to see if there is an aftershock.” Looking into his blue eyes, her smile grows and eyes shine. “I love when your eyes are like this.” He leans forward and kisses her nose.
“I want to see the Walk of Fame and the cracks in it from earthquakes.”
Throughout the day they walk around Downtown Hollywood and eventually make their plan to Hawaii the following weekend.
…
“This is nice,” Ace whispers to Graham, while cuddling on a beach.
“It is, and you.” Hearing her laugh he tightens his arms around her.
“I want to go swimming, probably the best way to get wet out here.”
“Ace, come on.”
“Later, I could get a different kind of wet.” She detangles from him and offers her hand after she gets up. “Want to go swimming with me?”
“I could go for a quick dip.” He gets up, Ace watches as his smile goes from sweet to devilish.
“Graham, what is the smile for,” she asks, letting go of his hand and walking backwards, eyes widening as Graham follows her.
“Let's play a game,” he asks, falsely sweet.
“What kind of game?”
“Let’s pretend for a moment that we are young lovers.”
“What do you mean?”
“Turn around and run. I will chase you.”
“Graham,” she says with laughter in her voice, as she turns and takes off with a full sprint.
“I’m going to get you Dorothy.”
“You don’t need to get me, you already have me, Graham.”
“Not in my arms right now.”
“You already have my heart though.”
“And you have mine from the moment we met.” He catches up to her and tries to lift her without hurting his back. With laughter ringing out for all to hear, Ace and Graham land into the clear blue water.
“See, I still got you wet out here,” he says quietly as they get above the surface of the ocean.
…
Three days later, the two of them board the flight to Japan, both sleeping the majority of the 10 hour flight. “Our last stop before heading home, are you ready?”
“Graham, this has been the most relaxing vacation I have ever had,” they share a smile as screams are heard. “I spoke too soon. Ready for one adventure.”
“I am ready for any adventure for the rest of our lives. We just have to find somewhere to put our bags.” They see two people running towards the screaming.
“We know who that must be,” Ace turns to Graham. “Should we leave those two up to it or help?”
“I went into a volcano with just a message to my psychic paper. We should see if the Doc needs help.” Ace looks at him with a scrunched smile and they take off, bags in hand.
Hours later they are eating next to the TARDIS, “so the relationship is going well,” asks the Time Lord.
“I say it is,” Ace steals one of Graham’s fries.
“Her stealing your food, is that why you asked to make sure it was cooked in new oil.”
“Part of it, she makes me want to eat better and I didn’t know when the last time the oil was changed. I know fries aren’t healthy.”
“She makes you happy, do you make her happy?”
“Professor, I am right here, yes, Graham makes me happy.” When they are done eating the Doctor leaves with his companion and Ace and Graham start to walk around Tokyo.
….
Days later they board the plane, “Graham,” she gets his attention.
“Yes.”
“While in Japan, I got this feeling.”
“What kind of feeling?”
“I want to be married to you.”
“You do?”
“Yeah, if this vacation showed me anything, a simple married life with you will be like this.”
“Ace, we won’t have a simple married life. We fight aliens, you run a charity.”
“Ok, married life with you will be fun.”
“We both know the most important part of being married.”
“I love you and you are my best friend Graham O’Brien. Do you still want to marry me?”
“I do. I was already planning on spending the rest of my life with you.” Hours later they land back in London, Ryan and Yaz are standing right outside of the airport waiting for them. Graham knows he now has to talk to Ryan. Ryan sits next to Yaz in the front, while Ace and Graham are in the back seats.
“Sorry for how packed the car is. Three people each with their own suitcases,” Yaz apologizes.
“Yaz, you picked up Ryan and Ace and I. I have all who I love the most in one car. It may be packed, but it’s what I like. My family in one place. This doesn’t happen too often.”
“Family, is there something you want to tell me Grandad,” asks Ryan.
“No, there isn’t.” Graham puts his arm around Ace’s shoulder.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/64962355/chapters/169389247
“I signed over the lease into your name,” Graham and Ryan are looking around the house, “are you sure that you are ok with me moving in with Ace?”
“Of course I am, just think the two of you don’t have to be careful during the nights anymore.”
“Ryan,” Graham hopes he hasn’t heard anything.
“I’m just joking Grandad. I am happy for you, well and truly. All of us bringing it up last month, helped you decide?”
“I was already thinking of broaching the subject of her and I moving in together. With all of you doing it, it made it easier to talk about.”
“Why didn’t you want to talk to her about it?”
“I know we are both adults that love each other.”
“Both of you have an understanding that not everyone has, widows.”
“Yes, that we do. One part of moving on is learning things about each other and with us moving in together, there may be a few things we do differently.”
“Did you have that same fear with Nan?”
“I did, also how you would feel about me moving in with you two.”
“I didn’t like it. You probably know that. You were trying too hard, now that you’re a solid figure in my life.”
Ryan leaves the house as Graham takes another look as he sees a figure standing next to the doorway leading to the kitchen. “Grace?”
“Graham O’Brien, this is good on you.”
“What does?”
“Love. It took you too long enough to let yourself love that woman. I have talked to a few people, and all of them speak her praises. She’s good for and and for Ryan.”
“Yeah, I was a bit nervous.”
“Ace is wonderful, now go live your life with her.”
“She loves hearing about you, and I love hearing about Mike.”
“He wants to thank you for helping bring that smile back to Ace’s face and getting her out of her comfort zone again.”
“I didn’t do anything.”
“More than you realize, now get out of here.” Next thing he knows he’s alone again. He picks up the last box and heads outside to be greeted by laughter, he searches for where it came from. His eyes find Ace, whose head is back in laughter. Smiling, he puts the box in the back of his car.
Putting a finger to his mouth to make sure Tegan doesn’t say anything. Wrapping his arms around her waist, placing a large wet kiss on her cheek. “Graham, what was that for?”
“Just that I love you and happy that we are making this step.”
“Are you sure that you’re ok?”
“I am. Going to lock up then get in the car with Ryan. Meet you at the house?”
“Our home you mean,” she adds with a smile.
“Our home.”
“Thank you for waiting for us to look for a new one so that we could create new memories just the two of us.”
“Need some land so you can make your shelter.”
“So we are going to help you two move soon,” Tegan asks, drawing attention to herself.
“It’s going to be a while before that happens.”
“Probably a long while. I am content to live anywhere with Ace. It could be a hut in the middle of nowhere and I would be fine with it.”
“Come on old man, we should get out. I am looking forward to having the house to myself.” Laughing he kisses Ace on the cheek before getting in the car.
…
While unpacking the car a black SUV pulls up. “No,” Ace yells. Graham puts a box down and runs out to see what is wrong.
“I am not here for one of you two,” says the voice.
“But you are probably going to try and get his grandson to go on another mission. They deserve more time together.”
“Ace.”
“No Kate, you have plenty of people in UNIT you can go that haven’t spent half a year away.”
“I need someone who is known to post videos. Ryan has.” Kate looks up, “hi Graham.”
“Kate,” he comes up behind Ace who takes his arms and puts it around her waist.
“Ace loves Ryan.”
“She loves many people. Including you.”
“Not right now.”
“Not being happy with you is not the same as not loving you,” Ace sighs. “Ryan hasn’t been back for long.”
“Ace, I told you what I needed.” Kate looks past Graham.
“Ryan can choose what he wants to do, but he should enjoy the time in the house that he now lives in by himself.”
“It’s fine Ace, I’m sure grandad can keep the keys, so I can make sure to see you both the day I come back.” Ryan says before looking at Kate, “it won’t be a long one right, the mission.”
“It all depends on the factors as every mission.” Kate stands there, “come by my office on Monday for more information.”
“Kate,” Ace calls for her, “when will Ryan be leaving?”
“Next weekend.” Kate says as she gets in her car.
“Protective over me are you Ace,” jokes Ryan as he grabs a box and heads in.
“Thank you,” Graham kisses the side of her head before grabbing the last box and heading in himself.
…
That night, “our first night in our home,” Ace says as she climbs into bed.
“This has been my home longer than I have been living here.”
“Oh it has?”
“Since I realized I loved you and wanted to be here more often than at well you know.” She lays a hand over his heart.
“And part of you hates yourself for thinking that. You love Ryan.”
“I do, but I love you in very different ways.” He takes her hand from his heart and kisses it.”
“So home is where the heart is.”
“Right.”
“Ryan isn’t home enough anymore for you and I am.”
“Home can only be so much, I also don’t like being home alone so much.”
“We also have a hard time spending the night away from each other. I know what will cheer you up. Tell me about the vacation you have planned.”
“I will only tell you that you need to make sure your passport is up to date.”
“Ohh going that far are we?”
“A few places. I have the tickets, and I know with your job you keep up on your passport.”
“Then why did you tell me to make sure it is?”
“To feel your excitement. No one knows why we are going to these places.”
“Not even Tegan.”
“No,” he kisses her lightly before sighing.
“This will serve as your distraction if his mission goes long.”
“It will, but you are always a wonderful distraction.”
Swinging a leg over his and sitting on his lap, “a wonderful one you say?” She asks before leaning down and kissing him.
…
The next morning, Ace comes into the kitchen to find Graham on his phone, cup of tea in the other. “Morning,” she bends down to kiss him.
“Apparently there has been a weird sound heard in a few places.”
“Hmm weird sound,” she goes to get herself a cup down. As she pours some hot water for her tea, she feels arms come around her. “Mmm that feels good,” she says as Graham kisses her neck. “I have to head into work.”
“I know, I just want you to have a smile as you walk into your office.” She turns in his arms after putting her cup down.
“You really don’t need to worry about that. I am truly happy here and at work.”
“Good, now we need to get some food in you.” He slips his arms away from her waist and goes to grab her a banana.
I'm curious. Reblog this if you know how to cook
I don’t even care if it’s macaroni, ramen or those little bowls you stick in the microwave. Please, I need reassurance that most of the population on tumblr WOULDN’T STARVE TO DEATH if their parents couldn’t fix them food or they couldn’t go out to eat.
You’re not depressed. You just need $250,000 in your bank account.
