I read this manga long time ago. I think it’s called Yami no Kaidan.
Author:Junji Ito
A young girl by the name of Yukari Hanemura would be waking up around this hour, 7:00 AM Japanese time. She sat up in the bed, feeling tears roll down her cheeks. Did she have another nightmare again? For her, this was usual some mornings where she woke up crying if she saw someone being hurt in her dreams. How scary...
As the blackness formed into blurred distortions of greys and white, Ryou Bakura felt himself slumped over into a small corner in what appeared to be a narrow hallway. In dazed confusion, he began to determine whether or not this current place that he was in was a reality or some sort of dream world. After all, he was used to awaking up into his room and where he was now seemed so unfamiliar to him. His eyes fluttered and wandered throughout, tracing the edges of the hallway as the darker colour formed where the ceiling met the walls, creating depth.
“Where am I?” His broken voice finished with a sigh. Ryou then brought is right hand to reach behind his head, rubbing his scalp and white hair that matched the foreign, white-coloured walls; it was to ensure that this had to be reality, but the male could not help it to be a little sceptical. He was used to this state of bewilderment: always finding himself trying to determine if the parasitic, evil spirit that dwelt inside took control over Ryou’s body before he regained consciousness. His mind was covered in clouded scenes of what could either be a faint memory of last night, or a rather macabre dream…
Whatever it was; the male decided to go with the flow and planted his hands onto the floor, lifting himself up. Ryou took a few steps back as he allowed his large eyes to scope the narrow hallway, finding a way out or perhaps an answer. He felt stepping back onto what was thought to be a wall, until it felt as if it moved. His body braced itself except for his neck, turning to what appeared to be a door which exposed a light coloured room splashed by the morning rays of the sun. Also inside this room appeared to be a young female, sitting on a bed, looking off. It was then when Ryou noticed that his body hasn’t only braced, but was stuck in paralysis as it knew well before his mind did of an unnerving realisation: He was a stranger in a house that possibly belonged to this female… And he was about to get ‘caught’.
