The fact both bruises are from Niccal's betrayal (and associated with eyes- the windows to the soul and all that) Both of them saw something they weren't supposed to see (2ds torment in plastic beach and Noodles in hell) and faced consequences from said person's indirect actions. The only difference is 2d came out still seeing the good in people (and eventually loosing his cognitive ability) while Noodles still stuck in a mental memory loop but is able to see whats really there.

And the fact it mirrors latter events makes it all the more poetic.

Noodles words about this being 'OUR album', and 2d denying it's a solo album... Noodle freezing Murdocs bank account wanting to give 2d the time to produce the album on his own terms (something she wasn't given for her own album in phase 2 as she watched Murdoc hijack the music video for el manana with Jamie and make it about his own pursuits i.e. to kill Jimmy mason)

I firmly believe The Now Now is 2nu venting out to the world. 'flushing the cistern' as 2d calls it lol. This is also why 2d ends up so happy afterwards, and Noodle starts looking out for him. Both found themselves within each other.
