“I don’t normally post any political issues, but the EPA and Environmental extremist have gone to far. Question? Do you know what actually comes out of the stack and cooling tower of a coal fired plant? It’s called moisture! Go outside while it’s cold and breath out heavy, this is the same thing! Yes they do emit SO2 & NOX. But do you realize they are one of the very few industries that are even monitored for it? If you were to take the same monitors that measure these and put them on I-15 in SLC during rush hour, the comparison would be a billion times greater in one day! Yes a billion! Come on people educate yourself! EPA and Environmental extremist like to go after deep pockets! Did you know the deep pockets are each and every person that uses electricity? If this all passes it means your power bill will increase! If you want to make a difference educate yourself! Our skies are blue here! FYI the wind don’t blow moisture over the mountain! We need to take our country back people, grow our industries! We need to quit buying everything from foreign countries. Did you know we don’t manufacture hardly any metal in the US? Did you know that the majority of your apple products and electronics are assembled in China? As well as our cars, appliances and the list goes on! Pick your battles wisely people! Educate yourself! Quit putting Americans out of work! Take a look at the American deficit? Is it going up or down? Were sitting at 18+ Trillion! Social security? There should be money in the bank somewhere right? Wrong it’s today’s tax payers that cover it. What happens when the 50% of tax payers loose there jobs. Come on people! Fight a good fight!!! We’re hurting as a nation! The war on coal is REAL! I’m ready to battle are YOU? As far as the EPA and all the environmental extremist goes—- You should be ashamed and are in dire need of an education! Knock on my door and you will get one!!!!! Not a threat it is a promise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Quite frankly Josh I think you should have stuck with not being political, though to be honest looking at your FaceBook page you either post about your kids, some sort of luxury gas guzzling machine or anti-government climate denial nonsense.

Yes Josh I do know what comes out of them. Here is the list for a typical plant:
A typical coal plant generates 3.5 million tons of CO2 per year.
A typical uncontrolled coal plant emits 14,100 tons of SO2 per year. A typical coal plant with emissions controls, including flue gas desulfurization (smokestack scrubbers), emits 7,000 tons of SO2 per year
A typical uncontrolled coal plant emits 10,300 tons of NOx per year. A typical coal plant with emissions controls, including selective catalytic reduction technology, emits 3,300 tons of NOx per year.
A typical uncontrolled plan emits 500 tons of small airborne particles each year. Baghouses installed inside coal plant smokestacks can capture as much as 99 percent of the particulates.
A typical uncontrolled coal plants emits approximately 170 pounds of mercury each year. Activated carbon injection technology can reduce mercury emissions by up to 90 percent when combined with baghouses. ACI technology is currently found on just 8 percent of the U.S. coal fleet. Coal plants are responsible for more than half of the U.S. human-caused emissions of mercury, a toxic heavy metal that causes brain damage and heart problems. Just 1/70th of a teaspoon of mercury deposited on a 25-acre lake can make the fish unsafe to eat.
14 pounds of lead, 4 pounds of cadmium, other toxic heavy metals, and trace amounts of uranium. Baghouses can reduce heavy metal emissions by up to 90 percent.
720 tons of carbon monoxide, which causes headaches and places additional stress on people with heart disease.
220 tons of hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds (VOC), which form ozone.
225 pounds of arsenic, which will cause cancer in one out of 100 people who drink water containing 50 parts per billion.
Typical plant assumptions: Capacity=600 MW; Capacity Factor=69%; Heat Rate=10,415; CO2 Emissions Rate=206 pounds of CO2/Million Btu.
It’s not cotton candy and Josh is is by far not just moisture.
Now as for cars we don’t have the same break down but we do know that
U.S. power plants released 2.56 billion tons of carbon dioxide, equivalent to the amount produced by 449 million of today’s cars – that’s more than three times the number of passenger cars registered in the United States in 2007.
Now I know you likely don’t believe in climate change.
But I will do my best to scale around.
Hydrocarbons 2.80 grams/mile (1.75 g/Km) 77.1 pounds (35.0 kg)
Carbon monoxide 20.9 grams/mile (13.06 g/Km) 575 pounds (261 kg)
NOx 1.39 grams/mile (0.87 g/Km) 38.2 pounds (17.3 kg)
Carbon dioxide – greenhouse gas 0.916 pounds per mile (258 g/km) 11,450 pounds (5,190 kg)
The number vary some chemicals are equal to about 2500 cars all the way up to 875,000 cars there are about 255 million cars and 1400 coal plants so cars produce some chemicals in greater loads then coal plants but far less CO2 and almost no Arsenic, or Mercury or heavy metals none of these numbers are even close to a billion times more at the worst emissions we are talking around 100,000 times like hydrocarbons…Coal wins the pollution award there Josh.

Nothing to do with energy but sure since Reagan blow up tariffs int he US 60,000 factories have left the US, exploding ouyr trade defiecit to over 8 trillion and costing millions of jobs. I agree quit putting Americans out of work, let’s get out of NAFTA, KAFTA, WTO and vote down the TPP, set up tariffs again so we can build here.

Ok now the fake outrage over the national debt, first off Japan holds 7%, China around 7.2% and others equally 34.4% and WE THE PEOPLE own 65.6% so cut the fake outrage. Also the debt is in the form of securities which have fixed payout rates, no one is collecting early. Second 18 well 19 trillion is a big number but meaningless without context and you are using it to provoke emtion more then “educate” as you claim. The number you need to make sense of it is the Debt to GDP ratio currently at 100.5% of GDP. You also need to educate there was a time when it was 0% and a time it was 125% and you want to know what level was worse? If you answered when it was 0% you would be right the panic of 1826. the other time under Esienhower during one f the largests periods of growth and in 10 years is was at 40% after spending on expanding Social Security and building the highway system amoung other things.
Now I get you hate Social security, again a “rare” political opinion right?
So again yes there is no “Money” in the Social Security surplus it is invested in tresuries which short of the US government collapsing is going to be paid back and is safer then “putting it in the bank” it is fine with zero changes till 2025, and if we eliminated the cap and taxed all income equally then there is no problem.

Well the Great Depression was around 25% so you are talking about a collapse greater then that…Well we don’t know it is unrealistic.
