Honestly, fuck the government.
An update has come where the parliament will NOT recognise same-sex couples or lqbtqia+ couples as actual couples, and that despite section 377 in our constitution, petitioners cannot claim fundamental rights for same sex couples. And, in same-sex marriages, it is impossible to differentiate between husband and wife.
All because these go against India’s ‘family values’.
Yes, I air quoted that. Do you want to know why? These ‘family values’, which claim to aim at preserving so-called culture, are pathetic. These so called values, never once, helped in reducing rape cases. They never once taught the boys in our country to not ever see girls/women as objects and realise that they are humans. They never taught us that a man and a woman are equal in a household. They never fucking taught about consent in every fucking thing and its fucking importance in your life. They never taught us about the bloody importance of mental health. They never showed us that there is more to this world than just science and doctors and engineers and shit. They never got us proper sex education which is so damn essential.
The same values which normalises domestic abuse, marital rapes, blames the victim of rape because somehow its their fault and they shouldn’t have dressed in short clothes and shit (then what about little kids getting raped? huh? How are they at fault? They are literally children who don’t know much and get traumatised for life by this). The same godamn values, which don’t want to grant humans BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS.
Also, one of the commentators said this in the post- In same sex marriage it is impossible to name someone as a husband and wife.Tell me why the fuck is there need for a husband and wife in marriage

Anyone who wants to elaborate, feel free to add on. And pls spread this news, especially if you are non-indian. The government never seemed to really care about the lgbtqia+ community, saw them as disgusting ppl. Forgetting that they are humans, who have emotions and feelings.

I honestly cannot understand why the government is doing this. These guys released Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan, a fucking gay movie and now they won’t recognize same sex couples as couples??? THEN, WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE GODDAMN MOVIE?!! This shows how shitty our government can be. They literally gave hope to gay people by releasing the movie and now THIS. THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT THE CITIZENS. Heard there was pride parade in Delhi, and I have a serious question for the government -

Obviously, they didn’t strive and struggle so much for this to happen
And then you ask why we don’t want to stay in India. And queer kids always are scared to tell their parents because we don’t know if they know or not. And even if they do manage to understand, which is a big “if”, what will their relatives think and there, the job is done, queer kids don’t out themselves
