She watched his facial reaction change to what looked to her like a “pissed off” look. She couldn’t quite explain what Chilton was thinking. She nodded, listening to him. “Alright.” She said softly, understandingly.
"Downstairs it is." Abigail said softly with a smile, her hand out to the hallway as if to say “you first”. She hadn’t a clue where she was going. She’d rather learn about this head of the facility’s mysteries more than the mysteries of the patients who are housed and aren’t housed in this large building.
Chilton smiled, glad the girl was so willing to adapt. Any other intern he would have brought in would be nagging him with questions right about now. Or pressing him to let them into the wings. But... not Abigail. He appreciated the way she had already conformed to the hospital.
The guard led them downstairs, Chilton made a motion to have him stop at the metal doors before they went in. He turned to Abigail.
" I'd like to pause now to warn you that what you might see down here could be scarring. I cannot control the patients to behave while I have visitors around. They're use to me, they're mostly calm and subdued for me. But it will take them some time to get acclimated to an intern. Especially a pretty girl like yourself, are we clear? " He waited for her response before nodding to the guard to let them in.
He pressed a complicated number into the code pad and the doors split open, allowing them access to the hell hole behind them.
The misprision came alive almost instantly. The patients in glass rooms lined up side by side stirred from their resting spots on their beds. Whether they were reading a book, playing with a pack of cards, or simply staring at the ceiling above them. Chilton visibly tensed. What would they say? Hopefully nothing too incriminating while Abigail was around.

“How are your cages holding up, Doctor? Anyone interesting?”
Baltimore Hospital for the Criminally Insane has always held a special place in Sherlock’s heart. Mostly, in his Inferior vena cava. Like a slug in his artery, leaving a slimy trail.
A long sigh.
" There are no cages at this Hospital. We prefer to call them cells, or rooms. No bars, no chains, just glass. "
He pauses. " And before you bring it up no, there are no padded rooms either. "
I did a thing.
