A Room with a View // doctor-10
Rose descended the stairs and flung open the door. The delivery man looked as if she’d just insulted his mother or something. He handed her the bag, and grumbled, “Three pounds, love.” Rose narrowed her eyes slightly, and fumbled around in her purse. She pulled out three pounds, exactly three pounds, and handed it over.
"Go on, where’s my tip?" the man mumbled aggressively. Rose wasn’t one for being cheap, and she would always tip, but she found this man to be particularly rude. And her temper was not something to be messed with. "Well, thing is, I don’t give tips to idiots. Have a nice night, love."
The delivery man scuttled off to his car and drove off. Shaking her head, she looked up to find her mysterious neighbour calling her name. The Doctor. Such a silly thing to call yourself, she thought.
"Come on then, the place is an absolute mess of boxes, s’pose it’s similar to yours though. When did you move in?" she asked as they both drifted into her kitchen.
The Doctor nervously stepped forth into her new home. "Wait, you just moved in too?" he looked around at all the empty boxes, some piled up on each other and others still filled with stuff. "I hardly have anything in my home, the owner actually left some of his furniture in there!" he shrugged in the direction of his home. "It's weird! He left completely sobbing!"
He looked around a little more to see the place was nicely set up excluding the boxes everywhere. Very simple, and homey. There was no table set up in the kitchen, so they sat on the floor. He grinned at her as she gestured him the bag of chips and he gladly took some, setting the bag between them.
"So, Rose. You just moved here huh? And I just did too. Looks like we're just meant to be neighbors!" he grinned again and let out a silly laugh, his head moving side to side in joy. His cheeks were beginning to hurt but he couldn't stop grinning, he was thoroughly enjoying being around this girl. Even though he barely knew her.

Rose couldn’t help but smile at that. Someone else who had just moved in! And he did look a bit lost, as well. And from the way he said it, it looked he really had just moved in. When she’d called for chips, she hadn’t seen much movement in the house.
"I’m Rose. The Doctor? Doctor what? Didn’t think this town needed a doctor. Mind you, there are loads of grannies!" she grinned, tongue between teeth. She was about to say something else when a car pulled up. A man with a brown paper bag slammed the car door and walked up to her house. “Listen,” she paused as the bell rang, “I’ve ordered chips, and they’ve just arrived.” she nodded her head towards the street. The delivery man seemed mildly annoyed, waiting for her to answer. "I reckon there’s enough for the both of us, and you can tell me a bit about being a doctor and all that. Give us a minute."
Maybe she wouldn’t have to be alone, after all.
He smiled and laughed at her little comment, he had to admit that there were loads of elderly people living in this place, he saw at least six when he walked back to the TARDIS earlier. "Rose. What a beautiful name." He thought to himself.
He was about to reply but he saw the old rusty car pull up. "Oh! Okay then, yeah! Sure. I'll come over there if that's okay!" He watched her turn around and run down to her door. He looked down at his things and the very dark room. It was getting quite dark, he wasn't even sure if the house had electricity. There were so many questions about the strange house, and he was starting to really wonder.
He heard muffled arguing as he walked out of the bedroom and out onto the street. He saw the delivery man grumpily curse under his breath and slam his car door and drive away. Rose was standing in the doorway with her eyebrows furrowed and her hip tilted to one side. "Rose?" he waved with a small smile.

Sharing her feelings was not one of Rose’s strong points, so she had gotten very good at getting lost inside her own head. She had her head up against the window, staring out at nothing. She was hungry and tired, and when the hell were these chips going to arrive?! She slowly closed her eyes, thoughts were moving too quickly to count, and all she really wanted was someone to talk to. Just someone she could complain to about work or unpacking. That used to be her mum, though her mum wasn’t always too fond of Rose’s moaning.
Suddenly, a burst of sound abruptly shook her out of her own mind. Her eyes flew open and she accidentally slammed her head on the glass. “Hey! What…” she looked up to see a very skinny man flailing about across from her. He was tall and in a suit, who wore a suit at home? He was waving at her and smiling. In fact, he was smiling so brightly, she thought that surely, his cheeks must be aching. The room behind him seemed very empty for someone to be living there. There was a small bed and some odd looking gadgets that Rose couldn’t quite place. Silver and robotic looking. There was a beige overcoat thrown on the floor messily, like he’d been in a rush to get to bed. With a glare, she flung open the window. “It’s a bit rude, you know. Shoutin’ at people! I could have been asleep for all you know.” she stopped. Maybe shouting at her new neighbours wasn’t the best approach. Besides, she quite liked the look of him. And he was still smiling, the nerve! "Who’re you, then?"
The Doctor blushed and quietly shouted, "Sorry!" He leaned his head against the top of the window, keeping his smile in place trying not to make her even more upset. A soft gust of wind came above them and he could hear the faint words of "Who're you, then?" Her hair started to float about all around her face. She was so pretty, the Doctor couldn't believe his eyes. He didn't realize he was staring at her for a little bit too long and gasped, "Oh! The Doctor!" he quietly shouted again. "I just moved in, whats your name then?"
Btw I'm back! And I'm actually going to stay active, so mutuals so if you want to start a thread just message me!

Rose let out a long and loud sigh. That was the last box. The last little bit of her life that she had taken from her home and brought here. To this new place. She was scared, of course. She didn’t know anyone, didn’t have a proper job, she just really wasn’t sure. Living on her own was always something she knew would happen, she just didn’t know it would happen so quickly. London seemed so far from here, she felt so alone. Shaking her head, she started to unpack the box that had all her photos and bedding. A few memories for the night. The sun was starting to set and Rose was definitely more than a little hungry. A whole day of lifting boxes would do that, especially when you’re not used to a house with stairs. Rose had grown up in an apartment with her mum. It was small, but welcoming. But this place, with all it’s floors and windows, and various little nooks and crannies, well, it was all just a bit daunting. "Right, chips. My treat. To me." she smirked and called up the local pub. They delivered and she was not in the mood to go wandering through the streets at night. They told her half an hour, so she plunked herself down in front of the massive window in her room. All she could see was another bloody house. "What a lovely view." she huffed.
The Doctor shoved his keys in the lock of the TARDIS and ran as fast as he could back inside before he got blown to bits. Sontarans are not very easy to persuade after all.
The TARDIS slammed down a lever and made a blasting screeching noise, the Doctor's eyes widened with fear, "NO NO NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? NO NO NO NO!!!!!" There was a huge bolt of spinning and thuds and he was sent face down on the floor. It suddenly got quiet and dark, like she was disappearing. The Doctor slowly stood up with his hands on the railing, then quickly ran to the console and pressed every single button he could get his hands on. "nonononononono NO NO NO!" He started panicking and gripped his hair out of fear, he had no idea where he was, he could be lost in the abyss for all he knew. He slowly touched the door and pulled it open, peeking his very large eye through.
To his relief, it was a small town in the modern day. But he had no idea where. He looked back at the dark console and frowned sadly. Then turned back and stepped outside. He started wondering around, looking for names or at least a clue to where he was. He found himself in a small neighborhood with lots of wires and trees and abnormal buildings. He didn't know what was wrong with the TARDIS, and last time she did this it lasted for about seven months. He needed a place to stay or he'd be toast. He spotted a sign that stated the small home was for sale, at an incredibly cheap price. "I've got enough.." He thought to himself. He walked up to the door and knocked, a small elderly man with a worried look upon him immediately opened the door and shoved the keys in his hands. "It's yours. Just take it, I can't do this anymore." he sniffled.
"Wait, but what about the payment?"
"Just.. Just take it."
He started to sob and got into his tiny little car and drove off. The Doctor stood there in shock with the tiny little keys in his hand, he pushed the door open to find a very clean, but dark home. He shrugged and walked back to the TARDIS and grabbed a few things he needed. He got back and went straight up into the bedroom that had a very large window and a roof that almost connected to another house and fell asleep on the tiniest bed he had ever seen.
He woke up a few hours later to the sound of a motorcycle obnoxiously driving past. He got up with his hair a complete mess and looked down out the window and furrowed his eyebrows at the silly little kid riding it. "Geez." He mumbled to himself. He rubbed his head and looked up, a pretty blonde girl was sitting there staring out her window as well. He tried to get her attention by waving his arms around with a goofy smile on his face. "HEY!! Hello!" he shouted enthusiastically.
