Hi! Would you like to roleplay with me?
//Sure! I'm not the fastest at replying, so please bear patience!
writer: what would happen if someone used the time dagger from prince of Persia in the tardis while it was traveling through time?
I’ll admit I don’t really know anything about Prince of Persia, so I had to look up the dagger. So, based on my five minutes of research, here is my answer: We have to establish our frame of reference. Let’s assume that time flows linearly in the TARDIS even while moving through time. That should make sense, since it seems that way in the show. So, we know that even while the TARDIS moves through time, if you were standing at the console, you wouldn't ‘feel’ any fluctuations in how you’re experiencing time. In other words, you wouldn't experience any time dilation or anything weird. Now, as I understand it, the Time Dagger has a couple different abilities, but I’ll focus on ‘rewinding’ time. Having never played the game or anything, I’ll assume that only the person holding the dagger experiences its effects and any bystanders would not notice the change. If that’s the case then the complete answer to your question seems rather simple. If you used the Time Dagger to ‘rewind’ time while inside the TARDIS as it moved through time, you would move back the ten seconds in your timeline. The Dagger should work as it normally would. You would go back ten seconds and repeat that time with full knowledge of how those ten seconds played out originally. This holds true if time flows linearly in the reference frame of the interior of the TARDIS. If someone standing next to you in the TARDIS used the Time Dagger, you would be oblivious to any changes in your timeline. Does that make any sense? I know it’s a bit repetitive, but this kind of stuff isn't my forte for writing. Basically, because time inside the TARDIS is separate from time outside the TARDIS, the dagger works like normal. Conceptually, freezing time inside the TARDIS seems a bit trickier. I’d have to think about it.

“Oh, that’s brilliant! Fifty! I’ve never seen it that high before,” The Doctor voiced aloud. Blinking lights illuminated The Doctor’s smiling face. “I’m afraid I can’t let you destroy the Earth today!” he shouted. Grabbing the controls, The Doctor set to work destroying the alien invaders one by one using the lasers on his own ship. “Yes! No! Come on!” The Time Lord mashed the ‘Fire’ button. “Yes! New high score,” he proudly stated. “Level 50. Never got that far before,” admitted The Doctor. He stepped away from the arcade game and sat back down at the table. “Pizza, pizza, pizza,” repeated The Doctor. He took a big bite out of a small slice and chewed rather animatedly. “Well, what do you think?” he asked.

"I have no idea what you are talking about!" Olivia exclaimed in frustration. What on earth (was that even appropriate to say anymore?) was he talking about? The Meekats? The Mushkurmish? She was perplexed and puzzled and even her mind couldn’t develop something like that. Olivia started to believe she was normal next to the Doctor. Hardly safe, but here she was in a time box, holding on to dear life as she was transported to a world completely foreign and unknown to human kind.
"That’s not right?" Olivia overheard him. "What do you mean that’s not right?” Her breathing began to increase. She no longer found safety in the TARDIS so she held onto her arms. “What can possibly not be right?!” Were they lost? Were they trapped?
No. They were in an arena.
"Like a game?" Olivia asked for clarification, desperately hoping they were in the middle of a game of football or something familiar. Her worry swept away and her mind was eased at the thought of a sporting event. How fun!
The doors of the TARDIS opened and Olivia followed the Doctor closely behind. She squinted her eyes at the burning light. She could hear cheers that mutated to the sounds of screams, but then the cheers came back. “Oh Doctor! Do you hear? They’re cheering for us!” Olivia never heard such a round of applause! It was quite welcoming for their destination and she didn’t mind it at all. She exited the TARDIS, waving her hands in the air, greeting the spectators who were hardly there for the Doctor’s arrival.
"Doctor?" Olivia pivoted her feet as she saw the Doctor sprint off. "Doctor!" Olivia ran after him, wondering why on earth- or why on Murshsusrurmas— wherever they were at- he would be crying about a pile of rocks.
“What have you done?” The Doctor snarled. He stared down at the deceased Mirkruushian. A scan with the sonic only confirmed what the Time Lord already knew. He knelt down in the dust and placed one hand on the Mirkruushian’s body. “I’m sorry,” The Doctor whispered. The crowd thundered all around the arena. Standing, The Doctor shook his head and turned to face the other man. “You murdered her. She wasn’t going to fight back.”
“Wasn’t going to fight back? That monstrosity already killed three other men,” the man replied. He wiped the sweat from his brow and studied The Doctor and Olivia. “Who are you? How did you get in here?” he asked. The man scratched his bearded face.
The Doctor studied the stranger. He looked older than The Doctor although The Doctor had several hundred years over the man. It was obvious he was a warrior. He seemed accustomed to battle, to fighting, to killing. He shouldered the great mace with ease. However, the planet belonged to the Mirkruushians or at least it used to.
Regaining his composure, The Doctor responded. “We’re representatives from the United Planetary Council formed by Mirkruush and the neighboring star systems,” he stated, flashing his psychic paper as proof. “I’m called The Doctor and this is Olivia. We’re here to make sure there’s nothing illegal happening on this planet and just now you committed murder.”
The man scoffed. “Murder? Take a look around. It’s not murder. It’s entertainment.” He eyed Olivia. Moving closer, the man stared right at her. “Are you really a Council rep? You don’t look like one.”

"We’re going for a meal. A nice, normal meal which - before you ask - you are not invited to." She said, annoyance quite obvious in her voice. Clara was, admittedly, probably more annoyed with herself, and the fact that she would much rather go out with the Doctor than this James guy. But she couldn’t - the whole point of this night was to prove to herself that she did have a life outside the TARDIS, and ditching James would be extremely counter-productive.
The Doctor perked up. He would have said, “Splendid! I love meals. I know a brilliant restaurant we can visit,” but Clara cut him off. He got to ‘brilliant’ before frowning. “Right. Yes. Well, I guess I’ll just be going then. The universe can wait,” The Doctor muttered. He straightened his bowtie with one hand before turning away. As he walked back to the TARDIS, The Doctor paused. He turned back to look at Clara with a grin spreading across his face. “See you in a minute,” he teased. “Although,” he called out over his shoulder as he skipped up to the TARDIS doors, “for you, it’ll probably be about a day.”

"You look different, darling."
” Have you gotten older?”
"Have I gotten older? All this time and the first thing you say is 'Have you gotten older?'" The Doctor scowled. "Not a 'Hello, Doctor' or a 'Hello, Sweetie!' Sorry, sorry. Wrong wife."
