I was so sad at the part where Taylor found out reputation wasn’t nominated for the major Grammy categories. “I’ll just have to make a better record.” That album came out around the time that I started studying for the LSAT to go to law school and eventually represent victims of domestic violence and sexual assault as a career. Belting out those songs in my car was how I unwound after all the evenings and Saturdays I spent in the library. It was the soundtrack to my last year at home before I moved out of state for law school. The stadium tour was one of the best nights I’ve ever had with one of my best friends. It is intimately and irrevocably intertwined with the most transformative period of my life. And beside all that, it’s just really fucking good music.
