Ian’s last minute and not well thought-out Vampire costume (that he did, in fact, wear to work before realizing a hospital wasn’t a great place to have blood on your face)
I could find the whole meaning of life in those sad eyes They’ve seen things that you never quite say… but I hear Come out of hiding, I’m right here beside you And I’ll stay there as long as you’ll let me
“I’m tired, I need coffee and maybe a 14 hour nap.”
what good is power if you cannot protect the ones you love?
the extraordinary is in what we do not who we are
there’s some good in this world and it’s worth fighting for

Ian had woken up this morning in quite a state, which had thankfully been quickly explained by CARMA, and had entered a hospital that was awash in panicked citizens.
So he was very grateful when his lunch break rolled around, until he realized Caitlin’s clinic probably wasn’t faring any better. He was right.
“It’s Ian,” he explained with a smile when Cait turned to him, asking how she could help. “Do you want a hand?”

“I would absolutely love a hand,” Caitlin admitted, feeling relieved and overjoyed that Ian was there. It always brightened her mood whenever he was around and during a time like this she could really use it. “Thank you for coming Ian. This is definitely not how I imagined today would be going when I woke up. How are you holding up?”
Ian smiled broadly, glad to be of service. Lately, when he wasn't busy at the hospital, he liked to be busy next to Caitlin. And obviously, things were busy here. "Oh, I'm fine," he said with a shrug. "It's intriguing at the least. I'd love to know how it all works."
He stepped behind the desk and grinned. "But we have more important things to do. Where do you need my help most?"

Ian stood, hoping to draw enough of the other Meta’s attention that his patient could get far enough to escape or at least hide. But he watched in helpless horror as her body contorted, closing his eyes at the last second against the gruesome sight. He turned back to the Nephilim with fire in his throat, shouting, “What the fuck is wrong with you?” Ian did not want to play whatever sick game he was planning. He also didn’t want to die today. But he didn’t think he was going to get his way.

Uriel giggled maniacally as the woman’s body exploded, clapping his hands with glee. “Well now, that was fun. I do believe bits of her ribs ended up at the end of the block.” Turning back to the man, he frowned at his words. “Now that is not how the game is played.” He crossed his arms over his chest and sucked his tongue through his teeth as he regarded the man. “Now what am I going to do with you? Oh I know!” Uriel leapt off the pile of rubble he was on, slamming to the ground in front of the man. “Since you care for these people so much, I’ll let you tag along. For every one I kill, I’ll let you try to save one. But you’d best be quick. Run out of time and I’ll pop them like a balloon.”
Ian had been a surgeon for a long time. He had seen the insides of so many bodies, living and dead, that he'd struggle to count. But he'd never encountered a truly soulless creature. Ian tried to remember to breathe deeply and finally managed to tear his eyes away from her--what was left of her--but only found himself staring into the other man's crazed calm. He was almost giddy. It was horrifying. He suddenly frowned and jumped to the ground before Ian, who stepped back despite himself. The thought of it was... sickening. Infuriating. His mind was racing, tripping over itself trying to make sense of this. "And I'm guessing if I don't want to play," he spat back, "I die, they die, you find someone else to murder?"

“Sir please I’ve been trying to explain to you that there’s nothing I can do to make it end faster,” Caitlin insisted to another irate patient who had woken up with the wrong gender this morning. “CARMA said the effects of the escaped meta’s powers should end in a few days. I don’t have any drugs that will change that. Now please unless you have a life or death medical emergency I’m going to ask you to step aside so I can help others.”
It was hard enough dealing with a non stop wave of confused, frightened, and angry people but it was even more of a struggle when one was going through the same issues they were trying to solve. Immediately upon waking up Caitlin knew something was wrong. Everything felt off and she barely had her eyes open before going into full blown panic mode after realizing she was not herself. When she finally got to work and fully understood what was happening it seemed like everyone else was in panic mode too and rushed to the clinic for answers and solutions she didn’t have.
Sighing deeply out of frustration Caitlin quickly tried to regain her composure and get back to work.“Sorry about that how can I help you?” she asked the next patient that had been kind enough to wait for her attention.

doctorrylow:
Ian was so close to triage and sending off his next patient, just a few hunks of skyscraper debris from unearthing her arm, slipping on a tourniquet, and telling her to run as fast as she can. But that Nephilim was on them, and he knew Ian was there. The good doctor’s triage began to get hasty, knowing he had to save the woman before even thinking about getting out of this himself. He didn’t even think about responding, really, but the words rolled right out of his mouth: “Too busy working to play!” He called, helping the woman stand up. “Go,” he told her quickly. “Don’t stop running.”
With his senses increased exponentially, Uriel had no problems locating the two people crouched behind cover. It seemed as though he had stumbled upon someone trying to help those caught in the destruction the Nephilim were bringing to the city. When the man fired back at Uriel, he actually laughed out loud, surprised to find someone with their wits still about them. “Then by all means, let me help you with that.” he reached out with the Aether as the woman started to run, holding her in place before she could get very far away. A subtle twist had the gravity around her body concentrating at her navel and increasing exponentially. The woman screamed long and loud as she felt herself being pulled in to that location, her skin and organs shifting unnaturally until she was turned inside out with a bloody pop and a shower of meat and bone. “That’s better. I never could stand useless creatures. Now, let’s play a game.”
Ian stood, hoping to draw enough of the other Meta's attention that his patient could get far enough to escape or at least hide. thunderbird x gryffindor aesthetic
said to favour adventurers, and this is perhaps the most literal interpretation. Thundergryffins tend to be explorers and thrill seekers. Their bravery is not necessarily geared to some righteous cause (though this combo does not preclude that) they simply want their life filled with excitement. As such they can be easily bored which can make them irascible if they are deprived of stimulation. But they are bound to make interesting the lives of any who calls them friend.

At Your Service
doctorrylow:
Ian could tell the woman was uncomfortable, he wasn’t too surprised. But she smiled and seemed good-matured about it, so he stood up without second guessing.
“I can give you some ice, just, for your walk home, if you want,” he offered, gesturing inside. “I’ll just be a minute.” He hurried inside, grabbed a baggie and filled it with ice the ER kept on hand for stuff like this.
“Sure, thank you.” It was the least she could do to appease the doctor, especially if she was going to basically be ignoring the rest of his orders. Even then it was hard not to slip away when she had the chance, while he’d run back inside, but Felicity just didn’t have it in her to do that to someone else.
So when the doctor came back Felicity was standing where he had left her, though she had put her red overcoat back on; once the sun had risen over the city it would get warmer, but until then it was still chilly and in just a tank top now the brunette was freezing. “This means a lot, how do I need to repay you?” She would ice her side as long as she needed to, and go about her day as normally as otherwise possible.
Except she didn’t anticipate the rogue Metas who had given her so much trouble to come back for a second round — or that they had even managed to track her down. “Thought you could beat us around a little a get away with it, hero bitch?”
Ian handed over the ice sensing she was uncomfortable and didn't want to keep her too long. Some Metas relaxed by the time Ian had a diagnosis, some never could. Ian just did his best to help. So when she asked about repaying him, he shook his head immediately. "Don't worry about it. You don't owe me a thing. I was practically done with my shift any-" he was abruptly interrupted but a menacing voice from behind him and spun around. Hero bitch? He thought, puzzled. But he didn't have time to think about it too hard.
"Friends of yours?" He asked the woman, turning back to her. "If you have to run, go ahead. I'll stall. If you want help, tag me in." Ian could guess how exactly she'd hurt herself, and it obviously wouldn't make a street fight any easier for her. It was the least he could do for a patient.
