Some new deer research you might be interested in. When they rub their antlers on trees, the marks glow under UV. And so do secretions from facial glands of the males.

Out of all the characters you've written, which one is your favorite?

Mine personally is Jet. He's the ideal friend :)

I think my favorite characters are ocs meant for roleplaying, and not for comics. But! I love a lot of my characters so it's hard to pick one. I like Luda from JaH and Iralee from GS, aside from the main characters that I had to create enjoyable (to me) to be able to keep myself invested.

I love Vaura's design! Any bits of their character we can know about? 👀

Thank you! Vaura is a guy I made for roleplaying purposes, but I'm struggling to keep my interest in the rpg so he's starting to just become a pretty thing in my shelf. His design is based on painted desert sheep.

Vaura has history in an Evil Faction that includes him stealing his twin brother's identity and later faking his own death to get away from that life. That was his core thing, I've not been able to explore the rest he has to offer. He's very strict about coat maintenance and sometimes has those temporary fur patterns shaven in. His newest job is doing housework for a snake mafia.

He's very fun to draw if nothing else!

When it comes to all of your characters, how do you keep facial features and body types so consistent in your comics? I want to start up my first ever comic, but I'm afraid of going off model. I feel like my one pose reference sheets won't be enough.

Consistency isn't my strong suit at all. Even after all these years my characters swap faces, shrink and enlargen their eyes, height, stripes move. I don't think you should be afraid of being off model especially on your first comic. Colors, markings and design details help you out a lot even if the body/face shape changed sometimes.

One pose refs are fine, you're going to be drawing them thousand times if you start a comic anyway. You get a better feel for the design after repetition. Of course there are those who build their characters with blocks that help keeping them on model, but it's not something I can help with since I just whip out a simple ref and start drawing.

How did you figure out what theme look you wanted your comics to have? I’m currently working on what I want mine to look like- do you have any tips or just wing it?

I don't plan themes, I just get hit with an idea and start building around it. Sadly those ideas don't fall from trees most of the time. And sadly sometimes a lot of them hit you at once when you're already busy.

do you have any tips or tricks for drawing realistic or semi-realistic animals? After reading jet and Harley (awesome comic btw. Absolute banger) I got inspired and wanna start an animal-centered comic of my own but I’m not really skilled at drawing realistic animals. I like your art style a lot because of how often it kinda dances between the boundary of realistic and cartoony, esp with facial expressions :)

anyways your art is a huge inspiration and I hope one day I can be able to draw dogs & cats & deer as cool as you do🔥🔥

I definitely started from cartoony animals and it unconsciously evolved from there when I started to draw anthros. I still think most of my feral animals are very cartoony, but especially with Jet and Harley I've tried to keep to realistic shapes when it comes to the cats' bodies, because I absolutely love their sack-like anatomy. The faces are all over the place though.

I'm afraid I don't have any great advice other than studying photo references and adding your twist to them. I usually give them bigger eyes and more flexible mouth to make them able to offer easily readable expressions. And after that, repeat repeat repeat. The style will eventually meet you half-way.

Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.

If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.

Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
