wow!!!! i have to admit that i haven’t been looking at my follower count a lot recently, but i NEVER thought that i’d get this far. i’m amazed that OVER 200 OF YOU like my characterization of juliet & are willing to put up with me in the process! and i’m also done with junior year final exams today, which just adds to the high. there are a couple of you, though, that i feel the need to give a shoutout to:

he FREEZES just like that, dead in his tracks.

hearing the chirp of romeo’s voice float through the air made him think: OH NO. God had made tybalt a good fighter for a reason ; he wasn’t necessarily good at speaking otherwise, especially to people who he didn’t like. romeo was ONE of those people. now, he was at a crossroads : should he pick a fight, or should he please his cousin by swallowing his pride?

“romeo –” she doesn’t want him to LEAVE, that much is obvious, & she more than that doesn’t want him to leave HER. so an idea came to her in her sleep, one that she wanted to share, that she hoped he’d accept. “– let me come with you. i will more than willingly live in exile with you, and we can find a home … change our names … be together! be no longer bound by this feud!” her mind sinks back to seeing tybalt in the church, laid out in finery he would have scoffed at in life … a mo- mentary flash of pain crosses her face, but then it is gone. “there is nothing left for me in verona, sho- uld you be gone form it.”

he reaches out, laying a soft hand on her cheek. did she truly mean what she said? was she willing to leave her family, to leave everything she had ever known, just to come with him in his banishment? he almost did not believe what she was saying.

he felt as if something had suddenly been lifted off of his shoulders, as if the pain he had felt ever since the prince had issued his banishment was now gone. she wished to come with him. she had offered to come with him. it was something he would have not been able to ask her to do had she not said it first. this was his punishment, not hers, and what a punishment if would have been had she not offered.

he was certain of it. the baby would be a thing that both of their parents would love, would adore. it was something they could bond over, something that would end the horrible rivalry that attempted to break apart their love. the baby would mend it, make everything whole. it would make their parents realize that love was much better than hatred and violence and that there really was nothing to fight over in the first place.

❝ the father is a fool. the mother, however, is the universe formed into a human. beauty and grace and love and kindness all in one lovely being. that is who i will want to child to take after, not their silly fool of a father. ❞
