usually, fyodor has no patience for children. theyâre annoying at best (and infuriating at worst), but he can make exceptions for certain gifted children. children are especially open to manipulation - Â their minds still fresh, still growing (even a child as tainted as the one standing in front of him; innocence stained with violence and bloodshed) - and manipulation happens to be what heâs best at. this one - yumeno kyusaku - could be useful. itâs why he had bothered to seek him out. when one has the ability to rule the whole chessboard under their fingertips, itâs checkmate for the enemy. and qâs ability can do exactly that (with a gentle point in the right direction, of course).
âtheyâre scared of you? because you want to play?â well, isnât that just not fair! if q wants to have a little fun, who are the mafia to stop such a gifted child? â⊠a pity. all because you bear a curse, though i, myself, see it as a gift. âlet me tell you something that shall stay between us - i, too, am feared because of my ability.â granted, thereâs reasoning behind fearing fyodor, but he needs to find likeness between the two of them in order to move q into place successfully.Â
âthe port mafia⊠you dislike them.â fyodor states. perhaps he would usually stop and think about what heâs saying, but this heâs fairly sure of. âthey use you, yet lock you away when theyâre done. all because of your ability. if i were to offer you the chance to leave here, the chance to be rid of your ability forever-â he pauses, a smile that is reminiscent to a predator baring teeth at prey the only visual clue of his feelings. âtell me, yumeno kyusaku, would you take it?â
It was very tempting for Q to immediately agree, and he almost did had not past experiences and curiosity gotten the best of him. The man did make quite an offer, drawing him in with his previous words as well. Once again Q found himself wondering how the man knew about him, his name and his ability. If that wasnât enough to raise some suspicion on his own, why would he seek out the kid knowing what he was capable of doing? Never had anyone seen his ability as anything but an atrocity, never had someone seemed to consider locking him up a pity and instead much on the contrary.Â
And then there was the fact the noirette mentioned of his ability. Why would he be feared?  Â
Of course before he had held back on asking questions but perhaps allowing himself to ask them would be a better option before he did anything brash. After all, the last time someone hadnât been erred by his ability didnât wind up too well, and he wasnât looking to get himself in another situation he couldnât get himself out of.
âI hate them,â Q responded rather harshly, letting his emotion get the best of him before pausing and regathering himself. âAnd if I could, Iâd destroy them all myself.â He stopped again, baring a smile to match the otherâs but also coating it with a sickeningly false sweetness along with his next words. âBut then, how would you know that?â
