Sorry @luc1dw0rld tumblr ate ur ask 💔 I remember it was essentially “what if reader opened the basement door whats dust gonna do then.” Well. Uh.

To answer that question- honestly all I could think of dust doing is…. pulling a hard bluff of threatening your life to keep sans from getting your attention. Then finding a way to destroy any means of you ever entering the basement again.

That raises several questions tho! Like, why would Sans trust him? He doesn’t. But if a guy thats held you captive in a basement threatens ur partners life you wouldn’t be stupid and take the risk lmao.

And also, What would Dust have to gain from killing you? Nothing but more exp honestly. He isn’t ready to admit to himself that he loves you, But the only thing that matters is making sure that Sans thinks he would go thru with it. Sure, any trust Sans may have had in him would be gone, sure. But he can work with that.

If he actually had to go through with it though? He would definitely hesitate for a second. Maybe even panic and freeze up as you try to reason with him or question his motives. The thought of that happening at all is what really has him shaken. But in that moment where everything he’s worked for could come crashing down in an instant… he has to take a risk, and hope that sans would trust him just enough to believe he isn’t bluffing, and hope that you would trust him just enough to not take another step down those stairs. So he wouldn’t have to do something… regrettable.

To elaborate, she’s in a hospital and the only reason he’s nursing her is because she’s in hiding from Asgore. Sans isn’t actually like her real nurse he’s just the only guy available (other than Gaster who does exist rn and does most of the real cooking and ‘housework’). He takes care of her really well I promise you the hospital is not shit ridden 😭😭 but your right there is a power imbalance between the two even if it’s not strictly doctor x patient, and their relationship is very erm… uhh…welll…complicated…?

Honestly I should just make a comic or revamp my old fanfic bc this story has so many details. (That’s what happens when you stew over it for 4 years ig)
