I was inspired to take a quick break from Art Fight and draw the boys again. They are a terrible influence on my productivity.

Just learned about "Smile for Me" two days ago. Anyways I love Boris.

Getting some practice in for July since I haven't gotten the chance to properly draw animals in a while.

Honestly I wanna draw them as their cat designs more often. Just don't have many situations where it's fitting so I'm stuck drawing the regular versions instead.

Got a bit too ambitious for my own good and now I'm committed to making thumbnail drawings for every single chapter of "I'm Here".

I'm also gonna count this as my yearly birthday post since I'm gonna be too busy on the 12th to make a real one. I don't have any specific comparison pieces but uh I have these drawings from 2023 of this AU.

You know I just went into my old account's watch history to look for one completely unrelated video, but then ended up hunting through it for two whole hours collecting old animations about Skid and Pump

Thank god I turned off my watch history back in 2021 though cause I was barely even able to get to January before YouTube crashed on me

Anyways, does anyone else remember "The Monster in My Closet"? I thought that fanfic was lost media for the past few years but nope, it was posted on Quotev the whole time and I feel like such an idiot for not realizing

I'm so glad other people remember this!! I've been trying to find stuff like the ask blog that was on here but it's all gone now, could only really find a couple images on Pinterest and that was it

Not sure if you noticed, but the user @/skidd-and-pumpy did reblog a bunch of the ask blog posts, so those ones are still visible. I haven't looked much into it but I've found a good chunk of the missing stuff on their profile ( although I never really kept up with the ask blog in the first place so I don't know how much was on it before going down )

Extra character flavoring for Skid and Pump since I constantly get too many ideas for this AU:

- Skid was named after a deceased relative in his family. He gets compared to them often, and it's led to him absolutely hating the name Beverly.

- Whenever Skid hears someone call him by his real name ( mainly by adult men ), it puts him into fight-or-flight momentarily. He's able to hide his reaction to it pretty well, but Pump has picked up on it.

- Skid is nearly incapable of expressing true anger. He is quick to frustrate, but habitually refuses to express it properly either by laughing it off or being avoidant.

- Occasionally Skid will get nosebleeds for no reason. Pump has caught him a couple times taking pictures of himself with blood running down his face. Skid says it's "good reference material".

- Back when he was alive, Pump was absolutely terrified of his own reflection. Having to see his own face scared him, and even after dying he still habitually avoids going near mirrors. It's part of why he hated the drawing Skid made so much.

- Because of Pump's inability to communicate with most people, he is very clingy with Skid and gets very anxious whenever he's alone. If Skid is in the bathroom for extended periods of time, such as showering, Pump will sit outside the door and talk to him until he leaves.

- Pump has a slight speech impediment. It doesn't affect his ability to speak for the most part, but if he is excessively nervous or has been talking for long stretches of time his words will get slurred together.

I have a ridiculous amount of unfinished animations just rotting in my Flipaclip from over the years. Out of all of them though I think this one is still my favorite.

I came up with the concept itself around 7-8 years ago, but only really got to making this last year.

Also on another note, I've been working on and off on a dumb little animatic for the past four years purely for the sake of doing so, and I find it hilarious comparing the earlier frames to the newest ones.
