College AU.
: You and Sunoo go to the same college, same major. How do you know each other? You’re both in the same friend circle, however you’ve only talked twice, mutuals. Final similarity? You’re both dead broke, basically living off of hopes and dreams.
One day, Sunoo finds out about this scholarship the school has. It’s not any normal scholarship, no, this one, is made for couples only, that obviously need to have decent grades. What happens when out of nowhere, Sunoo thinks of an idea, an absurd idea that… involves you?

You walk down the streets of the university campus, people are studying at a lunch table, having a picnic on the grass, doing their homework on a bench. Some applying for loans, some taking a tour around campus, and some running to turn in their papers for classes that they can’t afford to fail.
And you? Walking to your next class thats across campus. Not fun when you can’t even be wasting money on a bus ticket. In this economy, you can barely be wasting money on food!
Or anything in that matter…
“Of course my next class has to be across campus!” You shout into phone, aka Jungwon (your best friend).
“It’s not even that far”
“It’s a 10 minutes walk? Pretty far for one class. Nothing is far for you because most of your classes are on one side of campus.”
“Hey I mean… 2 minutes if you take the bus, right?”
Gosh I wish I could take the bus, it would make life so much easier, but put me more in debt… BUT, it’s for a good cause….
Nevermind.
“Jungwon! I can’t be wasting money on unnecessary things… well it’s not that unnecessary but you know what I mean. I have to save any way I can.”
You hear Jungwon sigh on the other side of the phone. “You’re in the same situation as Sunoo, except he’s really desperate to make money, you are too don’t get me wrong, but he’s just on another level. You know he had four jobs at one point? I made him give up two of them. Especially the cafe. People were trying to hook up with him every chance they got.”
“Seriously?… did he say yes?”
“Yes! To most! It was insane!”
“How did he even—“ You get cut off, and jump-scared by the person you two were talking about.
Sunoo…
wait…
SUNOO?
You jump back and scream, getting tons of stares after.
“AH! Sunoo what the fuck?!”
Sunoo giggles. “Hiii! Talking about me? Hey Jungwon!” He grabs your phone and puts it on speaker. You suddenly hear Jungwon laugh. “Sunoo-ya! Hey! Still up for a grocery store run today?”
You look at Sunoo to see him slightly taken aback, pretty sure he forgot about that.
“Actually I can’t today…” You could practically feel the confused look Jungwon was radiating off the screen. “Whattt? Did something come up? You didn’t get a third job did you?”
Wait… why did he come up to me?
“No! I’m wayyy past that, and after this, I won’t need a job… maybe one but that’s beside the point… anyways me and y/n have to go, see you later!”
“Sunoo-ya—“ Sunoo hangs up on Jungwon and stuffs your phone into his pocket.
“Uhh, what was that for? I need to ask for the notes still—“ Sunoo turns back to you with a smile on his face, probably the biggest one you’ve even seen from him.
“Listen. I need to talk to you… please?” You look at him confused. One, he just hung up on Jungwon, the only one keeping this conversation not awkward since you’ve quite literally only talked to Sunoo twice.
Two. Why you? And why alone?
You two are just acquaintances.
Two people who are friend’s with the same person.
And go to the same college.
“On the way to my class, this is my most important one. I’ll be late if we don’t start walking now.” Sunoo nods as you start walking, him trailing behind. Eventually he catches up to you, immediately hooking his arms with your right arm.
“What are you doing?”
“We look like a good couple right? We would be a good couple?”
“Huh? What— why are you asking that?”
“There’s this scholarship for couples that the school is offering.” You look at him confused. Why was he telling you this? You can’t get a scholarship, let alone a boyfriend!
What is he talking about?!
“Cool? I don’t really know what to say…”
“It’s a couples scholarship, it requires you to have a partner and to prove you’ve been in a long-term relationship with them.”
“Sounds great for Jungwon and Jay?”
“You don’t get it, do you?”
“Get what?” Sunoo face palms before pulling you to the side. He quickly throws his arms around your neck, pulling you close.
“Fake-date me and we get this scholarship. It’s pays for all 4 years of college!”
You look at Sunoo, obviously shocked. Fake-date him for the rest of college. It’s not like you mind him, not at all, but it’s kind of a huge commitment, that both of you would have to actually commit to.
And out of nowhere.
“Pays for everything?”
“Yep! Even pays for housing! And… I know you’re dying to give Niki some space.”
“How do you— nevermind, so it pays for quite literally everything.”
“Yeah, I mean we would have to live together—“
“What? We have to live together? They allow that?”
“You don’t mind that, do you?”
“I mean, no? Not really… wouldn’t you be annoyed of me?”
“Nope! That’s the least of my worries.”
“Really?”
“Yeah! So! What do you say? Play along, fake-date me, we get through college together without having to pay a dime. We’re both broke anyways. I know you need this~”
“I… need time to think about this. You’ve told me all of this is like 2 minutes! I feel overwhelmed! Is there any more details? Anything else?”
“Nope.”
Sunoo drops his arms and tugs on your sleeve.
“Please? How can you pass up an offer like that? How do you even want time to think about it? You know you would regret it…”
“I would…” you let your head fall back against the wall and sigh.
4 years, and I don’t have to pay shit? Why am I even overthinking it? Plus, when am I ever gonna get an opportunity like this?
“You won’t back out, will you?” Sunoo shakes his head, silently begging you to say yes already, he knows he has you perfectly wrapped around his finger.
“Okay… I accept. Don’t even think of backing out.”
Sunoo does a little twirl, jumping up and down.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” He throws his arms around your neck again and gives you a quick kiss. You stumble back a bit, before quickly pulling away.
“h-huh?”
“We have to start now! You think they’ll believe us with a couple touches?”
“No… just give me a warning next time and… I’m late for class”
“Sorry! I’ll make it up to you!” Sunoo’s hand slides down to yours and he gently pulls you to the bus stop.
“Oh I don’t use the bus—“
“I’m paying, even though I’ve basically already collapsed.” The bus comes a second later, Sunoo pushes you on and pulls you to the back.
You both sit down, you’re still trying to grasp the situation, and Sunoo?
He’s clinging onto you like it’s the end of the world.
“I don’t think we have to pretend here…”
“There’s cameras everywhere. One slip up and we can’t even apply for it.”
“How are we even going to seem convincing? We haven’t exactly interacted much.”
“I didn’t take acting classes for nothing,”He lays his head on your shoulder and giggles. “I’m excited, I wonder what dorm we’ll get… Ooo! I wonder what people will think of us!”
The bus comes to stop, doors opening, students flooding in, you and Sunoo flooding out. “Are you coming into class with me?”
“Yeah! Plus I can afford to miss a couple classes since our schedules will probably change soon anyways. Also! We need to start making appearances everywhere.”
“True…” you walk inside the classroom and sit in the last row. Ideal if you wanna show off a fake relationship? No but Sunoo didn’t want to get any closer since this particular teacher wasn’t exactly fond of him.
“You can do whatever, I don’t mind” Sunoo eyes light up. You just gave him the green light to go all out. Just like he was planning to.
As you start doing your work, Sunoo gets an idea.
An idea that fully starts your fake relationship.
As you’re writing down the notes that just popped up on the screen you feel Sunoo start tugging on your sleeve restlessly. “Hm?”
He stops and moves closer to you, pressing his face onto the side of your neck.
“You smell nice… like vanilla…” suddenly he grabs onto your shoulders and pulls himself onto you. He sits on your lap, facing you.
“I’m touchy okay?” He whispers into your ear before wrapping his arms around your neck. You wrap an arm around his waist and continue to jot down notes.
“Why is the teacher staring at us—“ you gasp as you feel a pair of lips latch onto your neck.
“Sunoo— you can’t do this here”
“We haven’t kissed in a couple hours… I miss your touch” Sunoo kisses his way up to your jaw and eventually hovering right over your mouth.
We haven’t kissed in 10 minutes?
“Y/n, I get to kiss you whenever I want, right?”
“Yeah? But that doesn’t mean… why?”
“Just asking. Just keep doing your work.”

Class ends an hour later.
Coming out of class? A nightmare.
The amount of stares you two got was sorta uncomfortable, for you that is.
Sunoo on the other hand loved the attention.
You and Sunoo starts talking while walking down the halls, planning the living situation you’ll soon be in, and how to be more convincing.
At first sunoo said he’ll just be overly touchy and clingy, which is good, but then he realized he has to do a lot more than that to actually pull this off.
You two are on a campus with overly smart people, basically detectives hover every surface.
As soon as Sunoo realizes there’s no one else in the hallway, he pushes you against the wall.
“One kiss.”
“For?”
“I’m bored.”
“Seems like you’re always bored then… how about I take the lead?” You switch positions with him. Sunoo eyes widen as you lean closer.
“Really?”
“Mhm, you’ve been overly excited starting this, haven’t you?” Sunoo lights up and kisses you.
“I might not have feelings for you, but I have a feeling I’ll love kissing you.” He kisses you deeply, hands going down to yours. He holds them tightly, squeezing them as he pushes his tongue through.
“How are you so passionate with this? Only talked twice before today.”
“Because. You’re a good kisser.” Sunoo mumbles against your lips. Right as he’s about to pull you closer, he gets interrupted.
“Y/N? SUNOO? What the hell?!” You both quickly pull away and look to your left. At the end of the hall is Jungwon, looking very much shocked.
Mind you, sunoo abruptly hung up on him on YOUR phone 2 hours ago.
Now out of nowhere, he sees you two making out.
Awkward…
“Do we tell him?” Sunoo fake laughs before stopping. “No.” He grabs your hand and runs down the hall.
“Hey! You guys can’t just leave me like that! Have you guys ever even talked?! You and Sunoo disappear around a corner as Jungwon shouts down the hall.
You two immediately spot an empty classroom and rush inside. You shut the door and lock it.
“He’s probably so confused…” you slide down the door and sigh. Sunoo looks out the small window of the door and immediately drops down seconds later.
“You think he’s mad?”
“No… he probably just wants answers.”
“ugh… he’ll get them later.” Sunoo stands up a bit to look out the window on the door. “Coast clear?” Sunoo nods and pulls you up. “We should go apply before Jungwon spots us.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.”
