Ladies and Gentleman this is what the big time is like! #balling #pictchesbecrazy (at Los Angeles, California)
Stuff History
So once every four years a few things happen, Leap years, the Olympics and of course the world cup.
For me the later has become the most important, not because I love sport, (I did play soccer growing up) not even because it’s the biggest sporting event in the world.
I think and what we are going to talk about is that we crate these moments in our lives that big events can be given meanings. The world cup it self has little to do with what it reminds me of.
But it transports me to some of the great moments of my life.
Italy winning in 06, Australia beating Japan in extra time and starting a celebration that marched onto the harbor bridge in Sydney and was shut down by the riot police.
These little memory now are placed back 4 years at a time across my memory. My dad waking me at stupid o'clock to watch a game.
As a Duel cidiz I have had the advantage of supporting Italy and now in recent time Australia team is getting so much better and I have had the joy of watching them.
Again this is more then supporting a team it’s a testament to who I am .
There a even commercials that I will never forget (Stuff History)
SO I'm here in American watching a world cup trying to remember where I was four years ago, I Queensland I think. Where will I be in four years ? Home ? Here ? Somewhere else ?
Its nice to set these goals have hopes I would have liked to direct a Feature by then , I would like to have made it on to a team that performs regularly.
There a lot of hopes but what I like thinking about more is there is a kid watching the games now that will play in the next cup, there is a father who hopes his son will be there. There is a woman who knows she could be the next coach.
There is so much time and hope and opptunity in 4 years but I KNOW I'll be watching . In a life of total uncertainty for the last 10 years this is something nice to know !

The making of
So today we are going to talk about be a studio , high budget location production PA .
What do the best PA's on earth do ? How can you be the best ? How do you get PA jobs. All of these answers we will explore over the next little while. First let me just give you a little something of where I am coming from now I have PA'd for Warner Brothers , universal Studios, Disney, Like 1000 shorts & music videos and pretty much everything in between. I have seen a lot on these set but how does on parley that into work and more important then work $$$ .
Here's the thing. There is no one way. That is the hard thing about film making, you have to find a way. By working your way up, getting noticed by the right people or something to get yourself there. Say you want to become the worlds best piano player. You can teach your self "how to play piano" you can practice, and to a certain existent become a master. This is not the case with film it can take 1000's of people to make a film. In of itself it is a process of some sort of team work. Finding a way on to that team can be hard.
So what did I do. This is not for everyone but film school was a big thing. It was also part of the way I go into America. It defiantly wasn’t everything I hoped it would be it was an amazing place to learn. Like a lot of things you got out of it what you put in. Film school dose give you a lot of industry information, it dose give you the basic knowledge of how to make a film it dose not how ever insure you walk out with a job, or even a hope of getting one.
So how do you start ? Well you work for free, film school exposes you to a lot of people trying to make things happen. Many of these people have no money so they are looking for free work. This is a great chance to get on set experience for me this is invaluable chance to try each department. To hone skills. To get reps . The hard thing about making a money is you only have that chance. The day you hired the gear , the day the actors are there , the time you can afford the crew that means the better you can be a making those spilt second decisions, planning and executing your plans the easier your days on set will go.
The other thing is checking your ego at the door, I know I'm going to be a good director some day but when its not my set , you need to bite your tongue, you need to play your part. Just because you would say things differently dosen't give you the right to have an aditude or tell people what to do when its not your show.
What it dose give you is the chance to anticipate what is going to go wrong, thing about how you would deal with it. The chance to go above and beyond your siad roll, if you hear someone saying they need X and you can do it just do it. Communicate as much as you can, its better to ask a stupid question then get something wrong.
I hope something in there has been helpful and im a little bot off the track knowing what I was talking about so might leave it there for today but I'll be back with more worthless insights to filmmaking and my life soon

Oh Denny’s Where are’t thou.
So there are a few jobs that I would love, one of them is working for Denny's social media.
Its amazing, its random is weird and it so funny !
If any of you aren't following them on insta you should (denies insta here)
So why is this good ? Why aren't I doing that, I mean I could spend an hour or two a day to come up with something good right ? Isn't that what this blog is for? Well not really original this blog was to speak to a Exe that wasn’t talking to me , so I wrote everything here, I wrote and wrote and she read it, and one night she wrote her own blog this massive response and then she deleted it before I could save it, but I mean it work.
That’s the thing once I committed to it worked , and look at us getting back to theme of this blog since I have restated writing it. I have found that so much of the success I desire relies on me doing something, how about that you need to manifest your own success.
So lets start a denny's style insta, from today Monday the 4th of June I will be posting something fantastic, wither photographed or photo shopped by me but hopefully I'll be able to do one a day. So follow my insta @domatone to see how we go.

TODAY - Is GOOD
SO after a Stressful week it looks like things are shaping up pretty pretty good.Â
3 gigs booked this month. so lots of work, big industry weekend.Â
New movies tonight !Â
things are grood!Â
that is good and great !Â
this is a everyday thing so while there is no details and not much information here it for-fills the ability to pen to paper so to speak.Â

Organize
You know that Simpsons Episode when homer has an assistant that just allows Homer to be his very best.Â
Like he thinks of everything and once the organization is handled Homer is great at the doing of things.Â
I feel like the doing of things Im great at but the organizing i’m horrible.Â
here is the plan.Â
Write the 10 most important things you need to do each day on list, you cant do 2 un till you have done 1, you cant do 3 un till you have done 2 ect.Â
give it a go , i’ll let you know how we go.Â

Working it.
Ok so its all about the little victory's, sometimes having a thing is almost as good as having the thing you want. Â
So I'm not going to walk out of my house and write a perfect screenplay today. Â
But I going to write, I'm therefore going to get better at writing, telling stories, shaping characters and this is the first step to a great screenplay, pilot, sketch. Â
I think like I keep saying the important thing is to do it everyday. Â
There is that brilliant moment in Bojack horseman (you should be watching this show) Bojack is running up a hill and is dying, Â he lays down on the sidewalk unable to go on, a old man running behind him stops and looks over the top of him and says "it gets easier every day, but you have to do it everyday" I probably butcher that saying but hopefully the point still stands things are really hard, but if you practice if you do something every day, work, running, writing, juggling it get easier and easier. Â
I think that is the beauty of life that you really can do anything you want… if your willing to put in the work.
You did the thing,
A lot of us ... no that is wrong Im not writing this for a lot of us, I am writing this for and about me. if you are reading this (and your not. no one is) and can relate that is fantastic. I feel like once i have that next thing i’ll be able to make something amazing. for example i cant shoot that short film I don’t have a camera *Gets Camera* I can’t do that thing i don’t have lights.. and on and on.Â
Some times all it takes is the first step, for me today it was writing, organizing some media and studying. I couldn’t do it at home because there are so many distractions. The solution was walking to a nearby study space (the inner sanctum) and I did it. I got up, I walked there and Pow, it was closed for Labour day weekend. What to do, should I get food, go home, walk somewhere else a denny’s, a star-bucks or a library? or do i give up and use this as an excuse not to work, well as you are reading this i’m hoping you have realized I’m still doing it. I came home and used my Study Area (maybe used it less then 10 times) and I’m currently labeling hard drives, Transferring media, Transposing study notes and writing this post.Â
I guess what I’m trying to say is that its not about what you haven’t got its about finding a way to do what you can with that you have. you might just have everything you need a few meters from your bed.Â

Game show - A day of waiting waiting.
Today i was on TV, this was a real show on the Game Show Network, it was very legit be it became super clear how different this part of the industry is.
Narrative work tends to live to the creativity of many working together to to tell a story a singular and specific point of view. Game shows want to please the masses, they want everyone to be very appealing to everyone. This leads to a lot of hedged bets and waiting for people to decided. All this was a survey based game that really made me worried about the state of the world. many of the answers made re-think how a lot of American sees things.Â
This is sort and sweet wrap up but in the intressed of writing again everyday i wanted to get something down, maybe i will write a short, a sketch or something else based on this day but for now this is all.Â
Till next timeÂ
XOXO
Back on the Grind
After a Long hiatus we are back with a daily blog post, this is more a self imposed mission statement to WRITE every day regardless of how long or what.Â
I need to be writing.Â
so here in writing I will do three things.Â
1. Write something every single day on this blog.
2.try and turn these things into something.
3.keep it cheerful i know in the past this blog was a bit of a downer but i’m almost 100% no one is going to read it so its for me more then anything else.Â
much loveÂ
