Sasha figured out rather quickly the woman had no intention of leaving causing her to scowl just as she caught a whiff of chamomile tea. While it usually was a welcoming scent the thought of sipping it made her stomach turn. Frankly the only reason she even made another attempt to sit up again was to hear what sort of damage she had done. Sure she thought she had maintained the nights shenanigans, but wouldn’t wage a bet on it. The one thing she remembered was being held in a handsome mans arms, and that was enough to chase the scowl she had been wearing away. Politely she took the tea cup and plate, and sighed. “I doubt anything will help me at this point. Only death.” It was natural for Sasha to be slightly over dramatic. When the other validated her thoughts on Pavlo her eyes fell down to the duvet before lifting to the door. She couldn’t help but wonder when she would get a tongue lashing from her father. The young woman for the most part managed to keep on his good side, but even she knew she had really messed up this time. Sasha instinctively closed her eyes when Inola swept a curl from her forehead. Given that she lost her mother before she could even carry a memory she enjoyed immensely being mothered, and welcomed such soft touches.
Sasha hadn’t even thought about Ivan till she mentioned him. Naturally, she would be privy to his thoughts on the matter considering they were lovers. Knowing boundaries were important with both men, but her uncle offered much less leniency. Granted she knew enough to be afraid of his temper, and that she should do best to avoid it at all cost. Taking the advice she sipped at the tea, and was surprised she could swallow it down without retching. Wanting to talk about more pleasant things, “Did you see that man last night? The handsome cowboy-deputy one.” Grinning happily she thought of resting in his strong arms as she continued to sip at her tea. Everything about the man was dreamy, but damn it all if she still couldn’t remember his name. Putting away the drudgery of her actions last night she had the sudden epiphany that the other could be of some use in her quest. “Inola…I need your help with something, but it needs to stay between us.” Shifting she went to set the cup of tea on the dresser, and groaned as she moved.Reaching for the others woman’s hand she held it in her lap as she requested. “I need you to teach me how to kiss and seduce a man.” In the past the woman had always been kind and treated her in a friendly manner, and because of it she had no qualms about asking the favor.
Inola did not intend to leave, she had brought tea that would help with the headache and she wanted to make sure the girl was okay. Sasha held a piece of her heart as she was sure she did for all the women there. Despite the way her father and uncle acted Sasha did not act like and was in fact a sweet and endearing young woman, last night’s antics being far from the normal. Inola gave a small eye roll and put a hand on her hip. “You will do nothing of the sort and die. If you try the tea you will feel better, I promise.” Inola moved closer to her, seeing the embarrassment on her face. “I’m sure that with how much he loves you any lecture will end in kindness.” Truthfully the girl had never done anything like this and she didn’t know how he would react. If how Ivan treated his own flesh and blood was an indication the girl should be slightly worried. Then again Ivan and Pavlo were similar but not the same person. Brushing her hair back she smiled as Sasha closed her eyes. With another soothing touch she set the tea in a cup for the woman, not wanting to say that even she didn’t like the smell of this tea. However, she knew that it would help; she had used it many a time.
It was natural for Inola to bring up Ivan; after all he had come into her that night because of what had occurred. One thing Inola would never do was lie to Sasha, it was not in her nature, which in itself she knew to be hypocritical; she lied to Ivan all the time. She smiled encouragingly as Sasha sipped the tea, “See it helps, despite how bad it smells.” Frowning slightly at her words, she didn’t want to dampen the girls mood but Inola knew that becoming friendly with a man would be dangerous for Sasha and the man, but even more so if said man was the other side of the law from her father and uncle. Arching a brow she sat at the edge of the bed, “What kind of help.” Taking her hand she squeezed it, “Of course it will stay between us, what can I do for you?” Inola had to bite her lip at Sasha’s request, her first instinct was to laugh, not at Sasha but at how sweet the girl looked asking. The seducing a man part though made the smile fade, for it would get them both in trouble, her more than Sasha. Letting out a soft sigh, “Are you sure that is best? I mean, he is . . .” Again, she hated to dampen the girl’s spirit and mood, but he was on the side of the law, and she wasn’t. It was plain and simple being the daughter of Pavlo Terasenko put her there. On top of that she was sure that it would take away from the ‘virginal’ aspect of Sasha and that would not be good for Pavlo to find out, and certainly not the woman who taught her. “What exactly is it that you want to know? He also liked that no matter how vile he’d gotten in front of her or how much she loathed him Inola had a good way of closing off her mind to everything around her but the needs of her body.
Ivan found her skin as alluring as her attitude. She was asking, not that it mattered, so he obliged. Hand under her dress he began exploring her flesh but Ivan was not a man of foreplay. It had been quite the night with Sasha’s drunken antics that lead to a scene of mass proportions; one that made so much noise even Pavlo and Ivan had come out of their offices. Throughout his years back in his home state of the Ukraine, Ivan Mazur struggled to slowly rise to the top of his game. Eventually he would become a man of both wealth and power but never as much of either as he had now in Canyon Diablo. To the Ukrainians, the idea of a land so wretched it was named after Lucifer himself, felt like the right place to be. Once they’d arrived it didn’t take much to attract attention. They’d built the Top Hat Saloon from the ground up pissing off other local businesses but in the end – through show of money or show of force – Pavlo and Ivan remained on top.
They hadn’t brought women with them but they were easy enough to collect as debts started piling up among the locals. Families were moving away because they were selling their daughters to Ivan and Pavlo but the men moving in to help construct the bridge and look for gold were more than enough income. Now that the well was getting dry in the female department Pavlo had hired these brothers to capture women for the cause and this could be equally as lucrative. Thankfully Inola knew how to check if a woman was still virginal because they made more money their first time out and that was what they wanted. He was eagerly awaiting Inola’s report for two reasons. There was a scar there now that she hadn’t been able to fix, and at first she had feared the pain she would receive from it, but Ivan had taken it in stride and wore it proudly. A drunk had learned the hard and very painful way not to break a bottle over Ivan. The pigs feasted well that night, and Inola did her best to stich it up, but in the end it scarred. Since then though she had learned it turned him on, and calmed him, when she ran her fingers gently over it.

The night before the tribe was moved some of the young men gathered and decided to go off as a war party, but unfortunately they were captured. It would be the last time she would see her half-brother Menewa. Inola spent the next few years of her life in what she considered the captivity of the reservation, but she would later realize she didn’t know what true captivity was until two brothers rode onto the reservation waving around money they were willing to spend. The men came seeking women, women that would be used in a saloon in Arizona. With little left in his life, his son missing, wife dead and only the reminder seen every day in the features of Inola her father easily accepted the money and Inola was placed in a wagon to travel to Canyon Diablo. It would be the last time she saw her father or her tribe. Inola was half freed slave and half Southern Paiute, but she knew the ways of the Paiute medicine woman and she was pure, making her worth a lot of money to the brothers.
That had been at least five years ago, maybe more, but Inola had lost track of time. Now her day to day consisted of working a whore, keeping Ivan happy, no easy task and trying not to get herself killed. Closing the door on the small blonde she had just examined she rubbed the bridge of her nose. Of the five women brought in four were virgins, but this blonde was not.
