It was always exciting running into friends just as it was exciting to find adventures. But at her uncertainty, Lysander pursed his lips as he gave a side-glance at Dominique. “You know, if you ever get one, you have to let me be the first to know. Before you siblings and the giant family clan you have. Have you all thought about taking over DC? I bet it’s achievable.” Lysander paused, realizing that his thoughts had jumped to something barely relevant to the conversation. “I mean, if you have the time and money? And also a large enough place? It couldn’t be that bad.”

She laughed, shaking her head. They could do it easily, she was sure although she hadn’t really run into any of her other family members... other than Hugo and Albus. “Unfortunately, only a few of us are here so I don’t think it’s that achievable.” She paused, glancing back at him. “Unless you know something I don’t. Who all have you run into?” She questioned, wondering if perhaps Lysander had run into more of her family than she had. “Money is... iffy. And my place isn’t very permanent right now. I’m still trying to get settled here.”

“Yes, I mean- kind of.” Her cheeks turned red, what was she thinking? It wouldn’t make any sense, he wouldn’t believe her if she told him that she knew him when he was an adult. How was she was supposed to explain herself in a way that made sense? “I can’t say. I don’t even know why I said anything, you wouldn’t believe me.” She shook her head, crossing her arms across her chest.

Dogs? In the rotting remains of the FAYZ, only Patrick was the one left to see around, him granted immunity due to the status of Lana. As for the rest, they were good meat. Astrid had hated every bite of everything living they’d had to hurt to survive, but when it came to living or dying, their lives came priority each time. After all, that was what it all came to in the end. No one there was living life exactly, no enjoyment or pleasure to be sought unless you were some sort of sadist like Drake. Just staying alive for the sake of staying alive. She supposed it was a routine sight in Washington, this claustrophobic land she bitterly wished to escape from, but to her there was that familiar ache tugging up in her, something so ordinary, yet so beautiful to her own eyes. However, like everything, tinged with tragedy at the memories of what had happened.

A smile tucked up at the corners of the blonde, white blouse that covered a little too skinny figure as she stepped up to the other, sunken cheeks and hollow stomach’s had been the trademark of the FAYZ survivors. Everything was being gained back, just slowly. Dominique was a little offended at the remark, she was just exaggerating. She didn’t think anyone would think she was serious, or that anyone would possibly be offended by it. She was about to respond to it before the other blonde apologized. “Kind of cute? I guess Labradors aren’t for everyone.” She hummed, glancing back at the dog. “I’ve definitely met people who considered them boring and basic. I don’t see how you can.... say that about a dog but people are allowed their own opinions, I suppose.” She turned to the blonde with a small smile, extending her hand. “I’m Dominique, by the way.”

So she was one of those who had been brought to this place, just like Esme and Carlisle. But living in a motel couldn’t be something good for such a young girl. It reminded her of her own children, those she didn’t know where they were. “When did you arrive the city?” Hopefully after the infection and she hadn’t been injured in any way. Esme herself was still dealing with that, even if it was getting better. “You can find a work at the dog shelter, maybe? You would get to spend time with them every day. Until you finally get one of them home with you.”

“Just... a few days ago.” She furrowed her brows at the woman’s suggestion, letting out a loud sigh. “Why didn’t I think of that?” She complained, that would have been wonderful. Being able to work with dogs and make sure they found good homes. “I already have a job as a waitress, unfortunately, but maybe I can just volunteer in the mean time.” She did need something to do to pass the time, a lot of her hobbies were things that she couldn’t really do here. She needed something.

The morning was beautiful. Stunning weather to go for a stroll, her dog by her, small enough to be considered a puppy. Cockerpoodle, he was her pride and joy, a little bit of family in a land where she had none. Pausing as she caught side of a Labrador ahead, it wasn’t wise to stay on the same side of the street, crossing to the opposing side in time to hear the speech of another, a wrinkle of a smile glossing over her lips. “That one does appear rather adorable, though I feel all are of note” The girl murmured, feeling a slight drop of pity at the fact the other didn’t have one. “Parents won’t let you get one? I’m sure they have your reasons” A sympathetic rise of a smile, lips touched together.

The young woman wasn’t wrong, it was her parents who had kept her from getting any kind of pet all those years but now the only thing stopping was money. “No, not anymore... it’s just a money issue.” She sighed, watching as the dog turned a corner. “I need to find somewhere more... permanent to live before I even think about getting a pet. Responsibilities and what not.” She looked at the woman’s own dog with a small smile. “Your dog is adorable by the way, what’s their name?”

Normally, when being bumped into, Dominique would simply acknowledge the other person’s apology before going on her way again but this person made her do a double take. By the fact that he almost knocked her over and his appearance. It had taken her a second to actually recognize the male, considering that she knew him when he was an adult but she remembered the pictures that she’d seen in the homes of her uncles and aunt. It was an odd sight. “I- It’s okay, really. I wasn’t really paying attention myself. You’re- you’re Neville Longbottom right?”
