She startled as she hadn’t hear him come in, and her immideate reaction was to turn around, cover herself with her hands and back away a step or two, before she realized who it was and sighed in relief. 

"Gabriel, you scared me…! Don’t just come in like that" she ‘scolded’ him, not removing her hands simply because she had forgotten where she had them. "But yes, running hot water is wonderful"

She swallowed, suddenly nervous, but she put her hand over his as it was on her belly. She didn’t know what to say, or rather she didn’t know how to say it.

"…. Then…. I’ve… I’ve been feeling odd… Can you feel anything? Can you sense anything? As a human woman, it would be impossible to tell if I was pregnant after only two days…. But my body is different from a human’s…"

    He sighs, and, gently, rocks them together, kissing her ear. "I cannot tell. Life does not bloom when I am near: it merely festers into wounds, rot and death. You are not human, my dear, and I barely know the signs of a human woman's sown body."

   He hopes she does not give birth like a Succubi. He is plenty familiar with that, and all the little black-haired ice nymphs that may or may not share some of his facial features. They don't count, born from something other than semen and soul, and he feels nothing for them. 

   "... should we seek out a doctor, perhaps?" he does not know what good that would do, but it's a suggestion nonetheless. They can pretend, sneak in as humans, uncanny but disguised well enough.

Marnie had fully planned upon taking a nice, long, relaxing shower. So, while she had let the warm water run for a couple minutes, she'd run off to disrobe, and gain some fresh towels. But, upon returning, she found Gabriel there instead. Making her let out a yelp and wrap one of the towels around herself. "G-Gabriel, What- ?!"

   He sat there in the stall, legs crossed and head under the spray, purring in a sort of catish contentment. Occasionally, he’d turn his head to let the water work its way over his shoulders and back, black hair long and heavy with water. 

   He’s not getting out, mind you. Surely, she could shower around him. It’s far too warm to leave.

   He notices not, content with his warmth. Muscles contract and roll as he relaxes and stiffens, odd sort of stretches, fingers and curling toes, soft sighs and rumbling purrs.

Hand lingers just inches from the cold knob, taking a moments pause. F;ashes of moments near an old cottage in her head. She walks up behing a napping Gabriel outside, wooden wash bucket in hand filled with cold mountain water, and she dumps it upon his form. Followed by running about the barn-

But no, this was here and now. Marnie shook herself from the daze, and grabbed the handle, grinning as she twisted it all the way around to bring on the flood of cold. Giggling in her little prank.

   He, admittingly, shrieked. 

It's a bat-like sound, really, high-pitched and sharp, ears twitching as he scampers out of the spray, nearly slipping and banging his head against the tile. He hisses, curled up on the bathmat, freezing water draining the last of the warmth from his hair, dripping across his skin in burning rivers. 

   "Revenge," he hisses, reaching to try and steal her towel. "Is not a thing you want from the Prince of Darkness."

"Well I like your ‘fur’" she pointed out gently, putty in his hands and the warmth. "I enjoy learning about this new world myself. I find these new inventions fascinating and clever, I would love to try to cook in a modern kitchen for example. One where I don’t have to chop up wood and wait incredible amount of times for the pot to get warm. I enjoy the long process, but it would still be amusing" 

She did have something that she wanted to discuss with him though.  "… Gabriel… I know that you’re heart is beating right now… But do you still have your supernatural senses?"

   Blue eyes peer at her, sleepy with heat, and they grow dark, red spiraling out in expanded veins, fangs and twitching nose. Claws traced her, black with rot, vampiric nature pushing against humanity until he relented, warm flesh returning with a sigh. 

   "Yes." he admits, admits the freezing parts of his heart, ancient frost that swallows and gorges itself. "It feels odd, but I do."

    His fingers, blunt nails, trace down her skin, cupping her abdomen and rubbing the flesh there, comforting. "I will see if a modern kitchen can be installed in our suites. I have not had your stew in some time, and I cannot say I am uninterested in that prospect." 

   He considers, thinks of their actions and their wishes, and fear washes over him, schooled behind brooding blue eyes and heavy hair. If she was pregnant once more, the possibilities there, would she tell him? Would it be his, truly, or frisked away once more, to be raised as his undoing?

   A pause, and he shrugs, downing her cup and waving for more. "Or, perhaps, I merely need some as well."

For a time, she could only stare at him in confusion and surprise. Wondering why he had decided to use her shower, that she had fully planned on using prior to, well, this… 

Keeping one hand upon the towel to keep it closed and wrapped about herself, she steeled herself and moved closer. He was acting like a big spoiled cat, stealing a warm spot… Complete with some sort of purring sound. All too pleased. 

Her free hand reached out, slowly going for the knobs on the shower wall.

    “I'm cold.” he grumbles, beating heart and oddly frigid, moving to hog the spray of water. Contently, he moved to untangle his boy's hair, pulling at knots and tangles until they slid free.

Smiling a little, Alucard slips his arms around his father to pull him under the water. He began to purr as his father untangled his hair and he couldn’t help but lay his head on his shoulder, hands moving over his back. “I apologize that I am not any warmer…or my embrace would be enough to fix the problem of your ice water incident,”

    Fingers stroked through heavy hair, tracing strands and scars, head tilting to hold his boy's head to his shoulder. "I am not complaining, my boy. You cannot help yourself, and it is not as if I do not appreciate your chill."

   Red eyes, pale at the edges, peer downward, ice upon his boy's skin, Void that ate away at everything. "... it is my taint that freezes you alive, my boy, and never should you apologize for my misdoings."

She smiled at the compliment, the hair reaching almost down to her bum as it was undone. “Indeed I have. I can see why it would be easy to take care of, but I myself would never be able to have it that short. It wouldn’t feel right… And I wouldn’t be able to wear the pin” she added with a happy glance back at him. “Do you still like it?”

   He reaches to push his own hair from his face, heavy with water and flat against his back, grumbling softly. "It is my fur that annoys me, my dear. You are beautiful, no matter what you look like, modern or ancient, or post-modern or whatever it's called. A thousand years means very little in terms of human development, and it seems as if they simply make up new words with each day to describe the time, bastardizing language until nothing makes much sense." 

   He's a bit behind on the times. Such is the case with illiterates, one can suppose.

Releasing a deep sigh, the woman sitting upon his lap felt content and comfortable in that moment. Hid arm around her, and his image like something from a distant memory. This just felt… Nice. But more than that, nice was not the right word for it.

Hands curled against his back softly, head spinning with moments just like these, or perhaps not. It was hard to make sense of half of it. But, just as confusing as her heads has always been, he has been just as much, hasn’t he? Hard to read, hard to understand. And yet at the same time, she could just get little bits and pieces.

Hearing her own name, brought her out of her thoughts. Did he truly just say ‘Marnie’…? After she had tried to tell him so many times, and he only called her Marie. But now.. .It both made her heart skip a beat, as well as worry. Hard to understand as he called her that… But none the less, to show how pleased she was a moment, Her lips softly met his neck, placing a gentle kiss upon the skin there.

"Thank you."

    He shudders, human want and vampiric desire, arching to expose his neck in a primitive, submissive gesture. He wants her to bite, wants to turn her, keep her with him until a miraculous sort of death happens upon them and steals them away. 

    But he cannot bear to think of her as one of his, a daughter-wife, bound to his every whim by simple addiction. She would be ruined if she remained with him, spoiled rotten and twisted into something frightening, something he does not love and does not mind tearing apart. 

   He should not think of her as Marie, but he cannot stand the thought of harming her. 

    "Watch your lips, enchantress." he murmurs, playful and dazed, tilting his head to pull his neck from her touch. "Lest your spells overwhelm me, and I do something we would both regret."

The small shower was pretty cramped with both of them in there, but she didn’t really mind. She tried not to let her back touch the cold wall, so the alternative was to stand closer to him. The water was a little too hot for her, the heat making her heart beat faster and her body almost overly relaxed, almost dazed. 

"That would be lovely, my love" she said, slightly slurrily and turned her back to him.

    He purred, and ducked out to grab a hairbrush. It was a simple thing, ivory or something, pale and littered with bits of his own hair, oft used by the Succubi as they cleaned their Prince up. He tested it against the bottom of her locks, careful not to tug too hard, running it through her long hair until it encountered no knots or burrs. "There. I forget, sometimes, how long your hair is without your pin. Have you seen some of the modern women about this city? They have hair like a shield maiden, short and sharp."
