This is diFferent from the headcanons from before, buuut .. also similaR, in a way- :"b
Been a lil' too fixated on this biRB for a while ffs-
─────────────────────────────
Chica's visual sensors are the earliest variants of the optics William was working on, so they read things a tad differently than the others would. And you can't replace them with the other, later versions of the optical sensors, bcuz her processors read them as a gLiTch, and unless you want to reprogram her entirely, the same moDel of those sensors has been working for her since the start-
As for her vision itself, her baseline has a warm, Kodachrome effect that tints the world in a gold-ish, sunny shade. And under that tint, most colors are cranked up to their extremes, appearing almost abnormally vibrant, even. Pink is the brightest of them all, and with how quickly her eyes track it, also her favorite color. Light and shadow also have much more depth to them in her perception than the others, so even the smallest semblance of a dark shape in the room becomes of immediate notice.
And later-years duCkie has Nyctophobia, so the deeper shadows make it worse- :"D
Her optical processors perceive things slower than she absorbs them, often a millisecond delay in what she's seeing and what's happening. Though, it only becomes really noticeable in fast movements, when it almost feels like someone teleported within a frame if they moved a tad too fast for her processors to keep up with. The delay also climbs if she's far too stressed for the optical systems to keep everything working well, so someone standing at the door across the room one second might suddenly appear right next to her and she wouldn't have noticed the middle parts-
Pretty startling when you're already freaking out- :v
Her visual system is also synesthetic. Both auditory and emotional perception filter through her sight. Emotions though, are less oppressive of the two, and more just faint tints of color around the edges of her vision. Each one has a particular shade, but the most obvious ones are pink at affection, orange at overwhelm or rage, a dark indigo for guilt, green for fear, and white for any dissociated state. Sadness, meanwhile, drains everything out, and happiness stays in that existing golden baseline.
Auditory-visual synesthesia, meanwhile, is more colors actually bleeding into her vision. Most and only prominent in music, and the others' voices. Freddy's is the richest — a warm, honey brown every time he speaks a single syllable, muddling with pink when he expels anything musical. Bonnie's is a more translucent shade of blue, and Foxy's is a fainter orange.
(Afton's an ugly green too- :^)
The colors show up like little watercolor strokes with a slight, digitized quality to them. Some are longer than others, some overlap with one another, and each one adds more life to her world than anything else ever might.
The synesthesia is a glitch, by the way. It gets worse and aggressive when she's overwhelmed.
Oh, and she doesn't blink a lot — was conditioned into noT doing it in her withered state.
And, we've already discussed how hyperexpressive her eyes can get bcuz the withered years aLso made their primary source of expression that lighT in her optics- : )
Chica and her rather interesting situation with her arms- :T
Chica has a very bizarre relationship with her arms. Even she hasn't been able to properly clock the cause. They're just ... strange. Specifically her left arm.
Now, at the start, it was fine. She was left dominant, the hand and arm worked good enough and everything.
Then, she fell over on it-
And it started acting up. First just the tiniest spasm when it moved, then a tremble which slowly evolved to insurmountable agony that had to be checked in. It eased down after a few repairs, but the damage left its mark-
Because, after that, the pressure sensors on that limb just sort of scrambled. It'd feel heavier than it should, often registered things sharper than deemed normal. Getting it checked *thrice* didn't help, because outwardly, there was nothing wrong — or maybe Afton was just being an ass and refusing to look over thoroughly — and meanwhile, the arm was beginning to act like a teenager with mood swings. Sometimes it'd feel like nothing. Others, it was static, and in the middleground where it actually felt like her own appendage was so hypersensitive it stung.
The chaos carried onto her Withered state, where it actively began conspiring against her. First, it just stopped moving. The motors locked, the connection barely felt like it reached down to her wrist. It was dead weight in every definition of it-
And yet, it wasn't dead.
Because 99-percent of the time, it was on fire. It'd turned into less arm and more an intrusion in her chest. The pulsing, burning agony would radiate to her other arm, her chest, everywhere. Sometimes, it'd be like it just didn't want her sitting uP, even-
Basically, it was a fuN way to learn existence was a nightmare- : )
Movement was alSo on its own accord. It didn't move when she wanted it. It moved when garbage data collided with actual, essential signal to her right arm and her left shoulder decided to catch it. The elbow and wrist were useless; the shoulder joint had life she'd wish was cut off-
It'd shoot up, t-pose, and stay there like a stubborn toddler that wants the most expensive toy in the store. Absolutely nothing convinced it to return to base. Nothing at ALL.
And it'd have been fine — she could've ignored it — if it wasn't the most agonizing position to be stuck in. The pain that existed before would mount to where it'd exceed past just inconvenience and became cancer. It was mind-numbing and exhausting.
Conflicting signals to both arms was a huge problem. The right arm was jittery because of it; electricity to it reached in fragments. She could feel less of it than her left arm, which isn't saying a lot, honestly- :Y
Gradually, it began to affect that arm where its joints would lock up too. Less frequently, but when it did, it hurt. The pain extended like a parasite finding a healthier host and clinging to it.
After the refurbish, the cuRse was finally lifted, but it left scars-
First, gripping that arm became a natural, nervous habit. She can't explain it anymore because it doesn't hurt, nor is it trying to fly away, but she still holds it down like it would. Her left arm casing actually has indents from her fingers constantly reaching for it at moments of stress, maybe even a crack or two as she sometimes grips it way harder than it can resist.
Second, she doesn't use it a lot.
In the hand's case she's learned to use her right more often. The left just feels like it's someone else piloting the limb. She doesn't like it a lot-
Third, she still reaches for it sometimes-
She's naturally inclined to things more leftward, so sometimes, she ends up using it instinctively. Causes a lil' inward discomfort, buut .. yeah-
I finally wrote a oneshot in like ... so daMn loNG, holy sHIt-
Iiiit can be a bit rough here and there, but it's pErfect- :D
Also, just loVe these two iDioTs being so fooliShlY fond of each other, haha-
The moment he said her name, she knew something was wrong.
Her gaze darted to him from across the hall, and there he stood. Eyes bright with a subtle disturbance in them that she knew too well. Ears flat with one constantly twitching as a streamer clung to it. Probably got tangled up there during one of his patrols through the building. The only thing thing off about his exterior, and the only thing that was causing the turmoil prevalent behind his eyes.
He didn't waste another breath. Just started toward her with an urgency he didn't even show five minutes before opening hours.
His hands found her shoulders before he fully stopped, searching her face like he was looking for any signs of the fact that she knew. That she could see the pain on his face.
And she did. She saw all of it.
"Chi, can you— can you—" his voice caught, which was new for Freddy. His voice was the steady, mighty thing that the others relied on, and right now, it was wavering, just as much as the ear tangled with the streamer was.
"It won't come off. It—" he gestured to the streamer with a tilt of his head. "I've tried everything but it won't come off. It's stuck."
His fans were loud, dissipating heat faster than they usually would. She could feel it radiate toward her, almost to a suffocating degree.
If it was that bad outward, who knows how much strain his poor systems were on the inside.
Her hand shifted in tandem with his jaw. He tried to say more, but her gentle grasp along his cheek caught him, made him pause before he made it worse for himself.
He was trembling.
She flicked a brief glance to the streamer stuck in his ear, then looked back at him. Her own optics flickered with something soft, inching closer as her thumb traced soothing patterns along his cheek.
"I've got you. I'll take it off."
He didn't respond, but his head leaned into her touch a little. The distress in his gaze muddled with a hint of touch-starved affection, the free ear tipped lower than it was, but less agitated now.
She tilted her head once he was a little at ease, "Your office?"
___
It didn't look like it'd been tangled that bad. The streamer probably got stuck up and Freddy overcalculated on how to pull it out. In turn, he made it more complicated, and worse.
She carefully tugged it from underneath the metal framework connecting to the ear, making sure not to prick the sensory wire trailing along it. With each pull, the ear twitched, making her pause before she could continue extracting it.
Freddy was sitting on the chair with his head leaned a bit toward her, almost nestled into her chest if she hadn't kept his head upright to pry the streamer out of his ear. He was very still and tense, staring intensely at the pencil cup sitting upon the desk not too far from him. He'd been staring there for the past five minutes now.
A slight tug too hard and his whole frame jolted, head knocked into her chest, hand flew up to her arm.
Chica's hands immediately let go, one extending outward to brush against his cheek, the other gently rubbed a finger over the exposed connection of his ear. It was ... tense, to say the least.
"Easy," she whispered softly, pulling his head in just a tad closer to herself. "I'm right here."
"I know," His voice was shaky. "It just .. hurt."
A light chuckle as she leaned lower, pushed his hat away a tad to nuzzle her beak to the top of his head.
"It's a little stuck, so it'll prick here and there."
Freddy's own head shifted, adjusting itself under hers, voice still tremulous, but a hint of rawness bled through. "It startled me."
"Yeah?" She murmured softly, watching as his free hand came up to retrieve his hat before it fell all the way down. He was very fussy about that thing.
But also, it gave her room to adjust herself a bit more comfortably against him.
"What were you thinking about that a little prick startled you, hmm?"
A scoff, almost a soft laugh. "Nothing important."
"Doesn't feel like it wasn't."
The huff from his vents thrummed through his shell, reverberating through to her. He then gestured toward the pencil cup with the hand that'd now set the hat aside.
"It looked out of place."
Her eyes found it immediately, studying it like it was something too important to miss. It was a standard, wooden pencil cup, a couple pens standing aimlessly within. For someone like her, it didn't appear out of place at all. It was just a pencil cup, being .. a pencil cup.
But he would think differently.
She knew that.
She knew too well.
Her hand that'd been on his cheek, trailed further down to his muzzle, feeling his frame twitch a tad at the contact, like he was debating between whether to stay clung to her chest, or lean into her hand.
Her fingers traced patterns across his face.
"We'll fix it after the streamer's gone."
"It'll be too late." He countered like it was obvious, making her optics flicker with a mix of disbelief, and curiosity.
"Too late to fix a pencil cup?"
"Yeah. It's .. crooked."
She stared at the cup for another beat, trying to see what he saw in it. What was crooked, but nothing there registered as such. Not even by the smallest inch.
A soft sigh slipped her, brows furrowing in thought.
"Can I fix it?"
Freddy was silent for a moment, systems humming against her own. She could almost hear the clicking of his gears as he pondered, making something in her chest shift as though they were physically integrated with each other. She adored his little sounds more than she'd admit.
"You can try." He answered with a hint of uncertainty in his tone.
And, given the signal, Chica did shift. Pulled away from his head despite the hollowness it left in her chest, and reached for the pencil cup to just push it to the left a tad.
Her hand remained there until Freddy gave her the thumbs up.
"Better?"
From the corner of her eye, she saw his head tilt.
"A little right."
A snort, "Okay." before she pushed it right.
Silence for a beat.
"Now?"
Then,
"It's ... tolerable."
She caught the uncertainty before he could say it out loud, so she readjusted it again. Now to her own liking. A little to the left, a tad to the right, until she was satisfied with it and had pulled away.
Her gaze fell on him again.
"How about now?"
Freddy's eyes didn't leave the cup, but they did narrow, fingers twitching as though he was intending to shift it himself. Like even that wasn't satisfying enough.
It was a bit disappointing to know she couldn't help him when he needed it most. The prick in her processors almost pulled all her attention away.
But Freddy didn't reach out. He didn't touch the pencil cup by even a millimeter. She waited there another moment to see if he would, but after a while, he just, averted his gaze. Looked at her with a glint in his eyes that she could only pass off as warmth.
"Perfect." With such conviction she wasn't sure if he was lying to make her feel better.
"Are you sure?"
He nodded sincerely, voice drowning in an affection that made her sensors buzz with a yearning to draw closer.
"I'm always sure when it's you. You're smart."
She felt something trip in her chest. Something warm and staticy that trickled through her entire frame like her systems had been fueled with life anew. Brown flooded her vision as the words echoed inside her, over and over again.
Her hands found their way back before she moved onto the next thought. Arms wrapping around his head, pulling him back into that same position she had before. His head fit right within like the perfect puzzle piece.
She forgot she had to remove the streamer from his ear a moment. And, from the looks of it, he had too.
A minute passed. Then another.
Her fingers traced over his features like they were trying to memorize him. Optics slid closed as her remaining senses tunneled onto the thrumming of his systems underneath. He was so gentle and sweet when he was at ease. Not bothered by work, not bothered by things outside of their confined, shared space.
You're smart.
A chuckle slipped her at another echo of those words, head lightly brushing against him.
"I'm smart, huh?"
The ear that was not pressed up against her flicked.
"Smartest of us all."
"Yeah?" She opened her eyes, now looking down at him. Could only see his brows from where she'd rested her head, but she could imagine the peace on his expressions down there. Away from the world where everything was a huge problem of its own.
"Even smarter than you?"
A pause, before a soft, "I said so, didn't I?"
A laugh escaped her before she said anything more, trying to hug him closer than it was physically possible.
He didn't even take two minutes to ponder on that.
"Okay ... what else besides smart?"
"You're beautiful ... and perfect, and talented, aaand full of life."
Freddy's chuckle only made it so much worse,
Warmth wrapped around her processors so tight her vents may as well have forgotten to function for a second. She felt her frame give under the weight of those words, shoulders loosening, optics flickering heavily with too much affection.
"And a thousand other things I don't even have the words for."
Something about Freddy Fazbear of all 'tronics not having the words to describe what she meant to him was ... dizzying. She could feel a trip in her wiring as warmth overflowed within her systems, and to expel which, she'd giggled.
"You're too sweet yourself, you know, lieverd?"
His head inched further into her embrace as a warm hum rumbled through his voice-box, making her fingers twitch before resuming their gentle caress along his features.
Oh, how much she adored leaving him melting into her touch like that.
She was still admiring that fact when he asked her, voice drunken with affection, "You never told me what that means."
A hum, just as warm as his had been only moments earlier. Her hand traced up to his free ear, stroking it once before it'd flicked on instinct, causing her to rest it just beside.
"It just means you really matter to me."
"But, what is it specifically?"
She chuckled with a hint of mock-offense bleeding into her tone, "Don't you trust me, lieverd? It's nothing bad."
His own hand had tenderly brushed against her upper arm it was still resting at, scoffing. "I do trust you. I trust you with my life. Just ... curious."
A playful glint flashing in her eyes, before she readjusted herself over his head as an attempt to pull him closer. Giggling.
"Well, curious you shall remain."
A low laugh rumbled from him as well. The same warm sound that slipped him every other time she dismissed him like that, making something in her chest flutter again, albeit with softness around the edges. She'd been using Lieverd and words similar to it for a while now, and his intrigue only ever compelled her to use them more. She had an inkling that he knew she only called them more to draw out that sweet little reaction of his.
She only responded with a teasing hum; trailed her fingers along his ear once more to pull that instinctive flick from him. Rested that hand beneath his head afterward, and just ... settled.
"Not fair."
The minutes ticked by like seconds.
The slow depletion of his system sounds was what finally dragged her out of her reverie.
That whole while, she kept absentmindedly tracing her fingers underneath his jaw, threading through the fuzz clung to his casing. There was no particular pattern, nothing she was really aiming for, just the resultant of the quiet calm cascading through her circuits like a beautiful lullaby.
A flicker of her optics accompanied a quizzical glance down to him. "Fred?"
No answer.
She remained where she was for half a second, brows furrowing as she wondered what might've happened.
Then, slowly-
Her head lifted before she did anything else. Both hands trailed up to steady him as she leaned toward him to look. Uttered his name once more, only to break off midway when—
She found him sound asleep.
A blink.
He was out cold. Not a single disturbance from her shuffling around him caught his attention. Not even the brush of her casing against his other ear. It flicked, but barely with the same intensity as it would if he were awake. His eyes had closed, head weighed heavier than it normally would, like his neck held no conscious command to hold it upright.
How long had they been strung together like this?
Her eyes slid back to said streamer, and for a minute, she almost contemplated leaving more of them around so he'd come to her every time to seek their removal. That way, he'd be at ease like this more often.
A tenderness danced in her optics as she continued to eye him. Head tilted, any tension in her features dissipated as she rubbed a gentle hand across his cheek. This was the most at ease she'd seen him the whole week, and all it'd needed was for a streamer to compel her to hug his head.
She wouldn't torment him like that.
An amused shake of her head broke the thought off.
But, her hand slipped back up to gently resume detangling the streamer afterwards. Without any resistance it was, easier.
Below this is what my braiN has been clinging to for the pAsT tWO moNtHS-
I've written a whoLe other dOc abt Willy's relationships with the women in his life, so this is kind of a stARter pack of that-
Anyway, what you're abt to read is an unhiNged version of myself who got her hands on woRds- : )
Okay, I've been working on this idea for quite a while, and still refining on it, but like-
I genuinely love the concept that Chica's initial creator was a woman ( or Fiona, basically ), and after William got his hands on most things from Edwin's little company, most of her puppets became Afton's.
Tho, Aftom created the remaining animatronics, just stole the concept of the endoskeleton Edwin had aimed to work on in the future, expanded on it, and built the original group. So, while the characters were his idea ( Freddy, Bonnie and Foxy ), the blueprint for the skeleton was Edwin's.
Henry did NOT know. William was a shady businessman and only showed up with the final animatronics once he was done. He also was more pestered into building Chica as a last-minute addition to the band bcuz Henry's daughter seemed quite foNd of her character, and Henry himself wanted to do something with the concept to honor the memory of Fiona ( basically she was a friend of his from college ). William had no emotional affiliations, but he liked being performative, aaand plus, on a subconscious level, it'd give him a chance to confront with an old demon in his life who claimed he was possessed and tormented him — aka his mother. 90% of her personality was programmed after that old hag-
William is no pityful, relatable villain. He's a fucking narcissist, and his mother was right about him in that he was bizarre. He taxidermied her pet dog after drowning it in water to "cleanse its soul", believed he was some god that could create and take life, so .. yeah.
Anyone would believe he was possessed.
As a result, his relationship with her was cursed, as with every other relationship with a woman that came after, even his own daughter that was very clearly a performative act to prove he was a good father. Then Chica took the brunt of all of his maternal hatred bcuz everyone else he'd driven away by then.
I actually have this tHiNg written from 2 months ago that put the whole thing into better perspective:
"Afton has mommy issues that he thinks have long lost their importance, but it gave him a blueprint. He always possessed a god complex that doesn't let anyone be above him, but with women, it's just a tad more obvious. Because he paints them all in that same light. Be it his wife and daughter, or be it a young animatronic bird with no knowledge of the world besides the fact she's a performer on the stage. Softness and kindness are all just a façade to conceal the monster that lays underneath. Nothing else to them.
He kills both Henry's daughter and Susie out of the hatred for them being too emotional and manipulative. His own daughter dies due to his negligence. And now ... now it's Chica that falls into that stereotype, and he built her, so she falls into it to a T.
And he hates her. He hates her so much. He loves predicting her next move. When she'd stop faking the softness to bring forth that core, manipulative monster from underneath. When she'd show her selfish side to prove to him that she'd use everyone to her advantage, then leave them hanging in the midst of their own problems. He built her stereotypically feminine in his eyes, and he made sure to program her to be every last thing that his mother was, just to give himself an instrument for hate. He systematically ruins whatever relationship she manages to maintain with the others, by proving one way or another that she's a fake.
He's drilled it into her head that no matter what, someone will see through her façade of sweetness, figure out she's a fake, and ultimately, she'll be on her own. Her primary fear of isolation sparks from here, and it gets worse with time as he tries to prove it over and over and over again, that she's a façade.
She can't talk to him normally. He's either too cold and distant and outright ignores her, or blows up at her for being too much.
He shouts at her a lot. The smallest mistake and Afton goes haywire. She's incredibly sensitive to his inflections, and later on, everyone else's. The smallest prick of sharpness gets her to flinch. She begins to dread any conversation to be had with him, because you never know when he flips.
He built her hollow, basically. Just something programmed to fulfill the purpose of that one missing factor from his life that he wants to destroy. That he wants to have the mental satisfaction of answering back to. He calls her fake, a liar, selfish, a vermin of her kind. A pathetic creature he knows will hurt everyone in the end.
The irony is, in his attempt to create the perfect replica of his mother, he turns out exactly like her, and Chica .. the exact opposite.
The base is there. The soft and caring act of hers. It never falters more than just hatred for a certain bear at the start. But gradually, even that chips away. It never shifts from that, never falls into manipulation or hurt. In fact, Afton's constant nagging has petrified her so much, she shrinks her opinion out of the question, completely. Because any opinion is hurt. Any opinion can be the reason she's proven a liar. A fake.
And, it's not that she doesn't care and is just showing it outwardly. No. She really does care, a little too much. Which drives the desperation further because if she didn't care, she'd just be selfishly clinging to them. She does, and that makes her cling, but also to the point where it's less useless than anything.
She becomes the quiet therapist friend. Listens to the others despite completely falling apart herself. She lets them talk, rant, even shout sometimes, just to remain of use, of help so they don't perceive her as a fake. It's not always foolproof — Foxy certainly believes she's doing too much to remain relevant, because nobody can be this actively caring all the time. He does exactly what she's afraid of, and, that drives this rift between them that never gets sorted. Bonnie's no different, and Freddy .. Freddy's the only one who sees all that struggle for what it is, because he knows Afton all too well.
She's way more observant of the others' emotions and problems than she should be. Always keeps a lookout for something that might be disturbing them. Setting them off. Any small weakness that could be used against them, just to try and fit herself closer to that problem than they would to keep them from the discomfort. She doesn't talk about her own issues and fears until it gets worse to a point someone notices.
And, in the all of this, the fear of isolation just festers and rots. Around midway of the withered phase, she can't stay in a room on her own for longer than a few seconds, then it's a spiral downward and an immediate search for someone to stick with. The worst part is, Afton's conditioned her to be so petrified of the idea of being perceived as selfish that she has tried, more than a few times to force herself away from everyone, just to avoid making them feel too burdened by her presence, despite the fact that it destroys her mentally. Temporary isolation is better than being left on her own forever, after all. It's not- :")
She avoids getting involved in situations where she'd be yelled at. Avoids arguments as a whole. She can't stand them, can't stand all the shouting, all the aggression and spite in someone's voice when they're arguing. Too sensitive to let those things remain irrelevant. Shouting's the one way to drill into her that she's everything she's ever tried to avoid being, and too much of it does break her."
That is a 9-page doc, by the way. There is a lot more that I wrote in the middle of the frickin' night or smthn-
1 ) His firmware's the most vulnerable to viruses, because he has survived a malware that was basically the animatronic equivalent to rabies in his withered phase-
There are still hints of its existence after he's revamped, because you can never exactly erase something once it's therE-
2 ) He's often put out of order because the employees don't know hoW to work with him. His arm catches on fire with the slightest hiNt of a stage protocol / overuse, and nobody's been able to fix that- :v
He's grown used to it at this point-
3 ) Also, the staff hatEs working with him. When they have to prepare him for a show, they curse him out a loT because he's high-maintenance aF-
He doesn't care about them, but it still stings- :,)
4 ) Has an irrational fear of dolls and faces that shouldn't be alive. He hates plushies, hates the empty masks in the parts and service, hates anything with animated features. Sometimes, even the others' faces set him off, so he just stays away-
He's NOT a people person-
5 ) His opinions about the others depend greatly on how much they petriFy him-
Bonnie's face irritates him the most, because it's uncanny-
The Cupcake's a close second, Freddy on the third-
Despite that he's absurdly loyal to the boss, and listens to him more than a fucking guARd doG- :T
6 ) The only 'tronic with aroma sensors built in, but they're fauLty aF. He claims everything smells like fiSh and naugHt-
7 ) He used to be infamous for teaching the kids how to sweAr-
The censor they coded into him back then was never removed, even if he doesn't do that anymore-
8 ) Empathy is not his strongest suite-
He's straightforward, and spits out whatever's on his mind without a filter.
Sometimes, it causes regret. Others, he just can't bring himself to care.
He's called Bonnie uGly on his face, too many times- : )
9 ) His decisions are based purely on "if it has potential for adVentuRe, I tAkE-" and that lands him in ... interesting situations-
He can never be put in charge of something. Freddy has regretted it every time-
10 ) He's not the sharpest tool in the shed, for sure-
Took too much liberty in being the youngest of the group, and now the one thing he's somEwhAt good at is combat-
He's also quicker than the others at a normal pace, even, so that helps him out in that case-
11 ) He has a love-hate relationship with waLls-
He loves scraping his hook on them, leaves deep engravings and claims they're ancient spEak-
They're not- :v
12 ) He doesn't know hoW to read, by the way-
Never tRied either- : )
13 ) Has strong potential for being one of the most hated animatronics out of the group, because his care's quite .. invisible-
And he often says shit that causes problEms-
14 ) His right eye's a little crooked, bcuz he barely uses it-
Also highly photosensitive, he can't see out of it in bright spaces. Darker places, however, it's a master at.
Its light's a bit wonKy though, often times it's just dim, or flickering waaay too much than necessary-
15 ) The hook's the love of his liFe. If something happens to it, he frEaks-
Freddy and Chica being absolutely smitten with each other headcanons
These two are the kinda obsession that comes back every once in a while, and it comes back strong- :,,,D
Not that I'm complaining, lol-
♡ They leave lil' notes for one another here and there. It's more of a Freddy thing, but Chica does it too. Said notes are often left in things that'd be important to them. In Freddy's case, they're sometimes even hidden on him, and he doesn't know until one slides out of a gap or something-
Not the best at writing, because they don't exactly know how to write, but it's the gesture that counts-
Fred sometimes leaves paper flowers with them-
⊰═══════════════════⊱
♡ Freddy has it fed into his routines to check the pizzeria breakers at least twice every night at the same exact hours, just to be ready when the power's about to go out.
He has an extra stash of flashlights he quietly whisked away from the staff members because "they don't need them", and if he's aware of when the place goes dark, he places them around the building as makeshift light sources for her- : )
The employees don't know where they are. Freddy refuses to elaborate-
⊰═══════════════════⊱
♡ Chica arranges little things around the place and often leaves notes because bear's a neat-frEak that doesn't stand one hat placed in the wroNg direction-
She's the only one Freddy trusts with that, because the other two, in his own words "are only there to create the problems"-
Said problems being catastrophic messes that could result in reputable damage to the place, but we don't talk about that-
⊰═══════════════════⊱
♡︎ Freddy's a fuzzy bear. She traces lil' hearts on his fur when they're on their own. He's not stirred by that-
⊰═══════════════════⊱
♡ They can't stay without the other for too long. If he's out of her sight for more than an hour, duCkie's wandering the building like a lost puppy-
Freddy's no different, but he often subconsciously knows where she is- : )

♡ They sneak out of the pizzeria for silly lil' dates. Sometimes, it's from the back door through the kitchen. Others, they have to negotiate with a certain golden bear.
DucKie refuses to leave flower shops, gardens, any place with music and pretty lights.
They've not scared the life out of humans more than once. Not at all-
⊰═══════════════════⊱
♡︎ Every new and popular song is fed into Freddy for the performances every week. DucKie loves music. She pesters him into playing it all when he comes by the kitchen.
She also adds in with pots and pans- :>
⊰═══════════════════⊱
♡︎ Chica has visual-auditory synesthesia. Freddy's voice is the prettiest color even above the pinks of music. She sometimes just sits entranced by that, listening to him.
⊰═══════════════════⊱
♡︎ Dare poke fun at them and they stick around out of spite, just to spot your one weakness to mock you about for the rest of your life- :^
⊰═══════════════════⊱
♡ Their hands find one another almost on instinct. They hold hands when standing together, sometimes even on stage-
There have been whispers among employees that the bear and chicken have something going on. Management claims they're delusional and really need to focus on their jobs-

♡︎ They stand up for one another no matter what. Dare say one wrong thing about the other and they will vehemently call you out, even if you're right- : )

♡︎ DucKie's incredibly bubbly with him, aand also flirts with him a lot-
FeDdy often fails at doing it back-

♡ Freddy gives off huge teddy bear vibes when he's with her. We're talking expecting tiny words of praise, a small kiss, hugs. Heck! He even just melTs at her touch-
He claims he's not that weak-
In reality, he's just a big soFtie- :>

♡ At certain hours, they just stick by the break room for a lil' dance-
Neither of them knoW how to dance. They just improvise things with good old radio music, or smthn from Freddy's music box-
I have to do that sometimes, or else I get too critical of my writing and it sucks the liFe out of the whole thing- :")
I wanted to finish this so bad, but I've been so busy with life this fell into the list of `to do lAtEr` things that never got done later-
So done with this semester I wanna hide in a buNkEr or smthn-

"Your voice is such a pretty color,"
She said one night. Unprompted.
It had been a quiet day, and even more so a quiet night. Not a lot of customers. Not a lot of disturbance from the humans during the day, and not much during afterhours either.
The power was out, leaving the building muddled in darkness, so he'd joined her. Just to make sure she didn't freak out on her own. Sure, she had the cupcake with her all the time, but, Freddy's company had always been relatively better for the dark.
Because, his voice had color.
Warm. Brown. The pretty shade of an autumn sunset. Whenever he spoke, it bloomed. First at the edges, then bled further into her vision like oil in water.
And, in the darkness, it was like a lifeline. Giving her only more reason to love his voice.
There was something on his end. A whirr. A click. The faintest shift of his hand around her shoulder, trailing down to her arm. "Color?"
He asked like it was a new concept.
"How's that?"
She opened her eyes, gazed over to her hand on his chest. Her fingers tapped gently across his shell, pondering how to put her words together for a moment.
"It's brown," her tone was soft, like she admired that fact too much. Color was the way her vision worked, and his voice was the prettiest color out of the four of them. ".. like you, but … lighter."
Freddy snorted at the small description. The sound rumbled through his chest, a faint vibration coursing under her hand. His head readjusted over hers, and in turn she brushed hers lightly against him.
"Never heard someone describe my voice like that before,"
A soft hum, optics flickering dimly with this, profound sense of endearment. "Who else would say it to you, huh? Bonnie?" she said jokingly, pulling a small laugh from his end.
"No, but—" he explained, ear closest to her flicking upon touching her head feathers. "—it's different."
"You like that," the giggled reply.
"You could say that," the faintest puff of air pushed out of his vents, accompanying a click and whirr from internal mechanisms. "You could also say I just, like all of you."
The words were enough to evoke this, flutter in her systems. A warm sensation that tickled every wire and circuit within. For a second that color in her field of vision muddled with strokes of pink, while a louder chuckle slipped her voice-box, partially against her volition.
"Oh, lieverd," then she just, closed her optics with a soft sigh.
Few moments just, went by in a warm, peacfeul silence.
Without moving, then, a thought compelled her to speak again: "What about me? What color do you see when I talk?"
It was her normal to see certain sounds in color, so the others probably had the same experience, right? They were built under the same blueprint on the inside, just differed by how they saw the world.
It never occurred that there were some physical differences too.
"I … don't know," His answer came after a pause, like he'd really thought on it. It caused her optics to blink open again, the light flickering quizzically, as .. how could he not know?
"The color of everything, I guess." but he'd said it like it was generic. Like he didn't see one specific color in her voice like she did.
"It's not a single color?"
"Not really," he replied truthfully. "I don't really see any colors in sounds, Chi."
But it was as natural to her as life. How come he saw differently?
The thought forced her to shift at last. Pulling herself out of that comfortable position so she could face him, scan his features properly and assess if he was lying. He wasn't.
"You're telling me, you don't see any color when I talk? It's just dark for you?"
"Well, not only dark," He snorted, hand reaching up to cup the side of her face. Ears lowering a fraction. His optics dimmed with something softer, then he added, "I do see you."
"But, you don't see color in my voice?" still unable to believe it, because life without something so beautiful was … well, what life was it?
He shook his head. "Not your voice specifically … I guess it's just something unique to you."
Her whole life felt like a lie in that moment. Because to her, everyone saw like that. It's why she never asked them. Why she found it odd when mentioning the color of some sound caught the others off guard. Freddy just crushed that entire belief system.
Head instinctively leaning into his touch, she stared at him wide-eyed. It didn't make sense.
"You— " A scoff. "—you live in such a boring, colorless world."
"I wouldn't say that," his thumb traced gently over her cheek. "You see color in my voice, and—" head tilting slightly, warmth and endearment seeping into his tone, "—I see color in you. Your eyes. Your face. Everything."
And, upon mention, those same eyes flickered. Shock replacing with affection. Edges of her vision brightened with nothing but the color of him, and everything else just, became secondary. Blurred out under that touch. Under that look of pure love present in his own gaze. That warm brown of his voice still lingered, tinting her view of him, and fueling that admiration for him a thousandfold.
Her hand lifted, trailed gently to his over her cheek, and just .. sat there. Pressed it closer to herself. The free one found his face, rested closer to his muzzle.
A few beats of quiet adoration later, her voice cracked the silence with a low, "Talk to me .."
And he did. He did talk. His ear flicked, and he'd tipped his head toward her hand. Blinked once, then uttered a soft, "What do you want to hear?"
And, it bloomed. That soft cascade of brown. Flickering through her vision in the most beautiful way it could. A part of her wished she could show it to him, what effect just a question in his voice had on her.
"Just, you …" it came out distracted. Optics closing, simply absorbing that pretty shade of color like it was her lifeline .....

❀ She loves adding stupid decorative flairs to everything she touches. Little flowers, paper abominations she'd label "crAfT", anything of the sort to make the place just a little less depressing-
She's also stolen boxes of useless decorations to add a touch of color to the main room whenever it gets .. well, dull-
❀ Has a verY strong liking toward the color piNk- : )
❀ Flowers are her fiRst love- :^
Fell for them back in the first location when some kiD gave her a handmade one, and while the fascination kinda diEs over as a Withered ( tho you can tell she still loves them ), she grows a specific fondness for them once revamped-
❀ She's extremely observant-
A recovering people-pleaser, so a lot of old habits stick around, which includes knowing close-to-everything about everyoNe-
She knows their habits, their quirks, what bothers them, what would provoke reaction; every small, teeny tiNy thing about them-
❀ Hates, hates, HATES the kitchen-
But it's a nightly protocol. She just has to arrange a couple pots and pans around to "assist" in cleaning up the place-
The sight of pizza is abhorrent — it brings back bad memories-
❀ Cries after heated arguments-
❀ She's extremely harsh on herself about hurting someone. Even perceived hurt has her immediately apologizing, clarifying, everything of that sort-
❀ Inclusive both by habit and by nature. She's terrified of being alone, and would walk to the eNds of the eartH to make sure nobody else ever feels that way-
She's seen, a vEry dark place in that loneliness, and can't have anyone else go through that-
Also, just generally she's a lot more empathetic than the others, so that factor of `makIng suRe no oNe feels iSolaTed` is cranked up a notch-
❀ Can NOT stand being yelled at. Slightly sharper inflections have her flinch, and if it gets louder than that she breakS-
Afton's done it too many times in her younger years, and it's left a permanent mark-
❀ Would gladly kiLl for her cupcake, by the way-
He's like her kiD or something, and if you touch him wroNg she will resort to murder-
Hardly violent otherwise- : )
❀ Has incredibly expressive eyes-
She can't hide her emotions at all, bcuz her eyes just put them out for the woRld to see-
She's spent a lifetime without working eyelids, so whatever electricity was meant for those lids directs to the optical sensors instead, and even the smallest prickle of emotion disrupts their light. It stays that way even aFter she's rebuilt-
So, yeah, she's a very expressive animatronic-
❀ She's close to all of her bandmates, but Freddy's genuinely the closest to her, even without the layer of feeling over it. She just, really cares about him-
Also acts more bubblier around him, which is funny bcuz he's the boss, but something about him just brings out that little, irrespoNsiBle birB that would laugh at even a stupid chAir pulled out wrong- : )
❀ Gift giVing is just one of the many ways she shows her love for someone, and if you do the same for her, she'd faLl for you if she hadn't already fallen harD for a certain bear- :^
Just, if she gives someone a fLower out of the blue, know that they mean a loT to her-
❀ Has a soft spot for inseCts-
She has kept a couple cockroacHes around in secret. Don't tell the management-
❀ She LoVes accessorizing. Larger flowers to put in her head feathers, ribbons or scarves she'd find, or anything that she could just put around herself, she wiLl-
She's very stereotypically feMinine in many ways, and in that, it shoWs-
❀ Her indifference toward Afton could be studied for centuRies-
Not even hostility, she feels nothing for that man. If you mention him, her voice just falls flat, like she could care less-
Sure, she wishes he suFfers, but never pours more emotion into it, bcuz he's not worth the effort-
❀ Has a crippling, absolutely debilitating fear of isolation. She can't stand two seconds in a space on her own.
It does branch very faintly into a fear of abandonment, which makes her cling to the others, a lot harder than she should-
Also severely Nyctophobic, but unlike how it is impossible to surviVe in isolation, she does manage to push down that fear sometimes. Even if a fraction-
Autophobia doesn't have that privelege, however. It's ingrained too badly into her processors that even the mention of being alone makes her shudder-
❀ She triLls-
Not always, but it's there. It's a quiet but melodic, chirp-like buzz. An involuntary sound, that mostly happens during soft moments, like when she's hugging that stupid cupcake of hers, or when a certain bear just, touches her face or smthn- : )
A smoL lil' signal that birB's just, too fuLl of emotion at that particular moment in time-
❀ She's the most likely to just use words of endearmEnt if you're at lEAst as close to her as the cupcake-
Carl's the guy's official nicknaMe, but he also gets called a number of other names-
With Freddy, meanwhile, she falls right back into that old, Dutch side of hers, and often calls him Lieverd, among other sweet little names- :^

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀. . . His fingers flexed. Once. Twice. One too many times. If he touched her, he'd hurt her. That was the correlation. That's how it'd always been.
Confessions
( I feel like we need more options for writing characters' inner thoughts, by the way, especially spiraling ones, lol- )
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It'd been like that when Afton still controlled him, and when he didn't. At rest. Away. Not. He always hurt her. He always hurt them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He couldn't do this. He couldn't afford it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀You'll kill her! Contaminate her with your essence!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She was standing so close, and it was killing him. Actively drowning him. He couldn't let her get close. If she got close she'd burn. She'd die, and he'll be the reason. He was always the reason.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The perfect creation, crumpling before the one that had been anything but that to their creator. To the man who drove every single action he made. To the man that'd turned into his waking nightmare. His worst inner critic. Always in motion, always reminding him that he'd been a disappointment. That he'd hurt them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Ruin our reputation!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Do you regret it? Regret falling for me?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He flinched.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Every waking sensor within him jolted at once, like someone stabbed him in his vital components. Like he'd suddenly died and revived in a split second.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Her words echoed through his head. Unlike the other, painful insults and derogatory remarks, her voice didn't muddle with the static after it sounded. It stayed. Persistent. Pressing. Warm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It was warm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Not the kind that burned — fire, flames, danger. It didn't set him off. Didn't force him to move. Didn't make him flinch away.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It was the kind of warmth that comforted, that hushed the noise, even if only a little. The kind that held him close and whispered gentle reminders of its existence. The warmth that held back the panic. The worry that he'll hurt her. The scratchy and loud quality of those other voices. It held it all back.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀His hand shifted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Thousands of voices screamed at once. Don't do it don't do it don't do it! You'll hurt her! He'll gain control and you'll hurt her!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He shifted it anyway. Pushed himself to lift it, each finger twitching, jerking way too many times. His hand trembled, static began pooling in his sensors, the screaming and shouting made his head feel raw.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀But her words were louder. Persistent.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀They didn't let go.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀So he rested it ... rested it to the side of her face. A faint, ghostly touch at first, but each time her question resounded, it fueled his resolve, and the phantom brush was soon a firm hold on her cheek. The compulsions wanted him to step back, to resist. To stop. They wanted him to jerk away before he hurt her, before Afton took control.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀But he wanted this. He wanted her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Despite it taking every fiber of his being to fight. He held on. His optics flickered heavily. His arm was trembling. Vents were howling. But he held on. He held on to her. To this feeling that brewed within him. To the warmth that pressed close. He held on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀And through the loud, static haze overwhelming his processors, managed to push through a, tremulous, but utterly soft,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Does this look like I regret?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Could she read his eyes? Could she tell that he'd fallen so far deep he couldn't pull back even when the world was warring against him? Tell that he was never letting go?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Could she see him? Amid all the chaos. All the noise. Could she see that he couldn't live without her?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Can you see me? Behind all of this, behind the twitching, the fears. Do you see that I lo—
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Something flickered in her optics. The pale pink glowed, with a fervor he'd never seen before. Softness. Warmth that instilled wisps of quiet hope.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She saw him. She knew.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She stepped closer. So close that her beak almost graze his muzzle. Her head tilted toward the touch, and for a second his fingers jerked again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀But stayed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Because he wasn't hurting her. Her eyes were gazing into his like proof, like a quiet admission: Look! I'm safe. You're safe. We're in this together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀And, when she verbalized it, her voice was wrapped in so much conviction that it silenced out his remaining doubts. The compulsions muted, strapped away in a box by this, new side to him. A side he'd never known of. All he heard, felt, saw, was her. Only her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Then, don't ... don-on't re-re-regret me." The warmth sparked through his remaining circuits, and he just, stood watching. Silent. For once, his head was silent.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He wasn't hurting her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Afton had no control over him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀His compulsions weren't eating away at him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Just him. Only him, that wanted this. That wanted her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A quiet plea resided in the undertones of her words. A plea that he couldn't help but question, as,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀How could I ever regret you?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Could I regret life?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀His thumb traced along the side of her face, a gentle motion conveying what words failed to express. Then, just like her, he closed in the distance. Slow. Hesitant. Muzzle pressing against the top of her beak, so near that he could feel the warmth of her vents. Gaze into the enigma that was her mind through those eyes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He loved her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Even after all these years, when despair and pain marked the both of them. Through the darkness. Through her wanting to end it and him fearing control. Through the terror and the compulsions. Indifference. Breakage. Hurt. Through all of it. He still loved her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Her functional arm had shifted to his chest, the motion jittery, but confident, resting beneath his bowtie like a reminder, that he wasn't the only one. And that .. that felt like he'd been handed over the key to the universe.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Stay... Stay with me." He expelled in a breath, his voice warm, but shaky, like it took everything from him just to ask her. He didn't want to lose this. This couldn't be a dream.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀His eyes searched hers desperately, to catch that signal again. To see that she knew before she spoke it out. She had to stay. This all had to stay. Or he'd fall apart. All of him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I love you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I'll never le-ea-ave you." Raw. Unfiltered. Her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Affirmation. She was staying. She was staying. After seeing through all his cracks — the shakiness, the fear, hesitation, worries, overthinking, all of it — she was staying.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀And, that meant more than he could ever put through his words . . .
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀When she was falling apart. Scared. Terrified that they all left. That she was alone. That no one would come for her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Several nights without the others noticing, and finally, she'd shattered. She'd shattered .. before him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I won't leave you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The warmth of those words, that hug that lasted until she could move — it still prickled through her sensors. It was the first time someone told her they wouldn't leave, while she was dying. While she was certainly dying. It had meant more than anything.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Her time to return the favor.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀So, she shifted her wrist, still locking eyes with him. Watching him, making sure he saw ... he saw the truth in her gaze. The reassurance. The care. Love.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The arm rested to his chest. Gentle pressure, quiet admission of what words had yet to convey. She leaned closer into the nuzzle, loosening under the faint warmth from his systems, like the air alone held the power to melt.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I'll never le-ea-ave you." All those feelings poured into that single affirmation. She wasn't leaving him. She couldn't.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀You matter way too much to me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A flicker in the blue. Looked like acknowledgement. Like he saw past her eyes. Saw the conviction in them. Saw her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀This is the closest they'd been. If he still didn't, maybe she was doing something wrong.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Because how could someone not see with that proximity, what importance they held? How would he not be able to tell that she'd fallen for him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Too hard.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Her structural limitations weren't something she could fix. Her eyes were locked in that same unblinking state. One of her arms was useless, and the one that worked barely held it together. She had no hands, her jaw was broken, she looked ugly. She knew all of that. But, even then, she prayed the light in her optics conveyed it all for her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀That she loved him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀. . . You're my very lifeline.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀And, maybe he saw that too, because the way his thumb traced the side of her face, the way a puff of warm air expelled from within him like a soft sigh. The way his gaze softened — it said it all.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Her own eyes flickered, head twitched toward the gentle caress, absorbed the warmth radiating from that movement alone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A long moment of quiet passed between them, regarding each other. There was no way that look in his eyes was anything but admission. That couldn't be read wrong. That gentle touch, that plea to stay; it all hinted at the fact that what she felt toward him held reciprocation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Yet, a quiet voice in her head tried to deny it : You don't stand a chance.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She said it anyway. Braced herself a tad, tried to shift closer like she wanted to hold the moment in place. Her jittery arm lifted up in a sharp whirr, wrapping around him at the best of its capability.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀And, in a single, shaky murmur, pushed through the words to disprove that voice, "I love you, bea-ea-ear."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Silence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He didn't speak a word. Didn't react. His immediate answer was silence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Something dropped in her chest. The confidence fizzled away for a breath. Did she misread this?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Was there anything to misread about this?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Was this closeness pity? Was he going to leave?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Should she pull away?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The stillness was filling up ... filling up with things that left her cold. The warmth dissipated, and a mix of terror and embarrassment took control. Maybe she misread this. Maybe she mistook all of this.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Even as he was standing so close. Hadn't moved an inch away. This proximity they shared was nothing like they would've with the others.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Even then, it suddenly felt like she was wrong.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It hurt. It really hurt.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀This was a mistake. She made a mistake. She should apologize. She shou—
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A soft, gentle whirr from his systems stopped her, coupled with pressure to her extended forearm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀His free hand had shifted, grasped at her arm, and held. Really held. Not to push her away. Not to hurt. Just, to keep her close.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A feeble, but warm utterance of her name finally hushed out the terror.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Chica ..."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Light pressure to her beak seconds after, cutting the anticipation, the coldness of the previous moment, and leaving a tingle charging through every wire and circuit inside of her. As if he'd kissed her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I've always loved you." Said in a whisper, brimming with affection. Half-lidded optics gazed back at her with so much softness it felt unreal.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Maybe it was. Maybe it was all a dream.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀But, for just a moment, she wanted to pretend it wasn't.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀So, a chuckle, one staving off the tension brewing within her. Faint and shaky, glitchy and ragged. A chuckle slipped her. It was the kind of laugh that emerged after surviving hell and reaching the threshold of freedom at long last. The kind that failed to process this was real, but desperately hoped that it was. The kind that'd seen death up close, and won.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀And, in answer, his quiet giggle sounded too. Lower than hers, barely existent. But present. Strangled, but breathing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀His grip around her had firmed, hand shifted from her arm to her back, pulling her an inch closer before structural limitations bound them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Nothing was over. Not yet.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The world around them hadn't changed. All their problems weren't gone.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀They were still broken, hurt. Still despised by their own bandmate. Still replaced, forgotten, lost.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀But, for just this once, it wasn't all so bad.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It was all they could do, and all they wanted. Pretend.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀That the only thing that mattered was just them. Only them.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀And, that meant more than he could ever put through his words . . .
Been so excited to share this too, bcuz .. Freddica-
I love these two so much, haha- 😭
Also just been crAVing flUFf, so here we aRe-
Old
... 𝔸 brief, light chuckle ... That's all her jaws allowed for to escape as her hand lifted, took ahold of the ursine's, to keep it from yet once more fixing his bowtie. Making it lower back to his side, she then used her own hand and brushed over it gently; fixed it to his desire.
It had been long since she'd felt this ... calm, warming sensation with the other. Nowadays it was mostly just work that'd bring them to converse ... or perhaps when she'd trash the kitchen would be when their issues would set aside.
But really, anything like this ... it'd been, quite long ...
Of course, that typical sternness that every leader would have was still with the latter; there was no change on that behalf, but maybe, for her, that wasn't exactly to the point of too much or anything ...
... Now, don't get me wrong, he isn't completely the extrEme boss animatronic around, but he has this level of respect, which is ... quite strictly to be observed every time.
Once having fixed the bowtie, her hand then shifted to rest to his chest, caressing as lightly as she could. The other's gaze was on her constantly, something she kept note of, to a level that is.
It took a brief moment, before another faint chuckle came from her, with that same hand then curling to a loose fist, then lifting and setting back on it, just with the merest addition in force, something of a slight, friendly nudge, if anything, accompanied by a joke-ish, ❛You've kept yourself in shape ...❜
Short context ... Low-budget company, doesn't have the money to maintain the animatronics as much as it's required, and the only much ever done is a dust-off here and there. Freddy, already not a satisfied lad with the place and everything else's cleaning — proven by most of his complaints, and attempts at fixing things himself — when this fact's known by him, he hardly allows even the employees to touch him, "preserving" his cleaner state, apparently.
But what the chicken could tell, was the exact opposite, hence that prior remark was simply light sarcasm.
Just after she'd said so, the male wrapped an arm around; pulled her closer to himself, a softer exhale making its way from her voice-box as a reaction ...
Taking a moment from that, her gaze once more lifted after, simply to fixate upon the bear, and only finding his own eyes gazing right back, therefore a tilt of her head followed ...
... During this, locking of eyes' moment, her face more unnoticeably fell for a second ... Why? Heh ... she'd spotted exhaustion in his gaze ... exhaustion which wouldn't show in any other form due to it being masked so well, but since one can't mask their eyes, she could see that tiredness peeking through ... his eyes had become duller, paler, almost drained ...
... Possibly from similar actions as the one prior which she'd stopped him from, and what that was, heh ... simple answer : rearrangment, and a lot of it-
Her eyes were already filled with emotion, when that was noticed, an empathetic glimmer dimmed them, just faintly. Then, letting out a quiet ... really just, almost inaudible exhale, her other hand trailed over to the male's shoulder ...
... Motionless otherwise for a second, the female mascot eventually leaned a bit to close in the small gap between them, just by her head resting to his' ... Heh ... When she'd felt him returning that, she could simply sense a warmth, swiveling all around ...
New
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A soft chuckle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The only sound that slipped her beak. Light, and airy. The kind of laugh that spoke volumes of emotion without being too overbearing. The kind of laugh that was contagious, even caused him to giggle. Small but, a giggle nonetheless.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She'd done it while brushing her fingers against his own, the touch a gentle reminder of her care for him. So tender it loosened the tight clasp of his hand over his bowtie like melted stone, falling into her grasp without an objection. Without a word.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Only she held that power. To make Freddy Fazbear of all animatronics conform to something as she wished, and not hearing him complain once.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Instead, he played along, letting her have her lighthearted fun while she kept him from his compulsions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀His hand was drawn back, her thumb tracing its fuzzy texture for a moment, before she let go.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You're looking great. Trust me,"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He did trust her. Sometimes a little too much, sometimes just enough.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A flicker danced in his optics, a serene light shimmering over her face in the dim-lit room as he scanned her features. The happy, warm look in her eyes as she flicked them up to him — the slight shift in the lids as her head tilted. The faint scoff that slipped her beak as she playfully nudged him at the intensity of his gaze.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I'm serious."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I know," The two words held more conviction than anything he'd said before.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀His feet took him closer, minimizing the distance until structural limitations came into play. Something amused flashed in his gaze when her brows arched at the sudden movement.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Only one of us is serious here, after all."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The joke didn't land. At least, judging by her little deadpan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀With a snort, her attention shifted back to his bowtie — or rather, her hand beneath it, curled into a loose fist from that nudge before.
"You know what I mean." She murmured softly.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He didn't reply.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀But, his hand trailed up to her face, resting beneath her beak as he coaxed her into looking up at him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Their gazes locked.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Fixated on one another for so long it grew elusive as to whether time had held its breath, or were they truly this mesmerizing to one another to be regarding each other so ... fondly.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A faint charge coursed through the atmosphere. The lighting seemed to dim in tandem with their heads shifting closer; touching at the foreheads.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Neither of the two broke the spell.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Bewitched, simply by each other's existence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It'd been so long since they'd been like this. So long since they held one another.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Almost felt like falling in love all over again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I've missed you, you know,"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Without changing their positions, her hand found his free one, twining their fingers together as the bear expelled a quiet breath.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Her optics perused his face like there was much more to see, a solemness threading through her voice. "I've missed this — us."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A faint whirr, a silent agreement from his own systems without him needing to reply.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀For just a moment, a forlornness lit his gaze — unmasked, hinting at something she couldn't fully wrap her head around.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She did note the exhaustion though. The affection wearing away to the tiredness in his gaze, the way his shoulders hunched forward and his ears fell, as if the words were just enough to trigger a mental collapse.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He'd been at this for too long.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I've missed you too ... "
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Trailing off, like he wanted to say more but held back. A sincere longing in his voice that sparked the wiring within her to react.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She squeezed his hand a little tighter, as if to remind him that she was there — always. Even if they were ... stuck to their routines.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Then, don't hold back. Don't stay away from me." A plea. An earnest request.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Freddy's ear flicked, a faint rumble coming from within himself as he regarded her words.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀His optics closed, drawing just close enough that his muzzle touched the top of her beak, drowning whatever was left of her view of the surroundings with nothing but him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I'll try."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The warmth of his vents seeped through his chassis. That subtle contact felt like a lot more than it should. Sparking dormant functionalites within her, replicative of a quickened heartbeat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Slowly, with a blink, she raised her other hand from his chest, and rested it to the side of his face.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Immediate reaction — he leaned towards her touch like it was a magnet pulling him toward itself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Somehow, the bear who was irritated by touch — tired of all the sticky hands they put on him, craved hers like a lifeline.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The thought made her chuckle, the warmth of the moment making her giddy. For a second it was like if they stayed like that too long they both would overheat with the intensity of two utterly besotted creatures.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Not that she'd mind.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She was so deeply engulfed in this moment that anything other than the sheer affection shared between them felt distant. Umimportant.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She wanted it to last forever.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Which drove her to deflect the remnants of the previous tension playfully, pinching the fuzz on his cheek as she spoke in a tone that was lightly teasing, "You're really all mush, huh?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A snort, breaking into a small, genuine giggle, a sound not common with him, and yet, he'd done it twice.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It made her gears click, like a heart skipping a beat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She'd made him laugh twice, lightened the air and pulled him out of that earlier spiral where only boxes mattered.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Now, it was them. Just them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀No compulsions. No boxes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Just ... two sweethearts under the dim-lit atmosphere of his office.
Having to draw 7 FeDdy's for this one was ... a tortuRe-

Only foUr this time bcuz I was tiRed- :>
I accidentally deleted the close ups, so you'll have to dEal with that- :>
Here have some unrelatEd TBAS Bonnie head canons-
1 ) Bonnie's the clumsiest of the group. He's tripped over literal aiR sometimes.
2 ) He's the most likely to be a goTh if he were a human ngl-
3 ) His patience gradually strips away over the course of the story, bcuz he's just tiRed, man-
4 ) He has a literal musical ear. The music in his performances is pre-recorded, but he knows how to play a guitar, and loves learning about new instruments. A unique ability that Afton perfectly infused into him.
5 ) He's Bri'ish to a fAult. May not be Afton's favorite animatronic, but definitely follows the trend of all William-created rabbits being British-
He will NOT stand tea slander, even if he can't quite driNk said tea-
6 ) Him and Foxy act like brothers a lot of the times. In fact, he's the one responsible for screwing the pirate's new, more dangeRous hook on his arm bcuz it looked threatEning and cool- :^

10 ) Easter is his lEast favorite holiday, bcuz some brAts think it's funny to fling eGgs at him- : )
11 ) Him and Freddy have an interesting dynamic, bcuz Bonnie's often the one to ruiN the chairs and tablEs in the dining hall, and Freddy deSpises that-
Sometimes it's unintentional, other times, over the lAter parts of this phase of his life, it's out of spitE-
Titled it 4 on the actual page bcuz that Foxy drawing was actually also a concept I forgot to add in this chain-
Anyways, this was posted late bcuz motivation's aSs-

Have unrelated TBAS Chica head canons-
1 ) Chica's the empath of the group-
Emotional as heLl, will ask one a thousand times if they're alright oNce she notices something is oFf at all, and will do anything to make their day better-
2 ) Her DutcHness is based off of Willy A's ex-wife. The last thing they did together before divorcing-
No wonder he's souR with her- :^
"That woman was a liability anyway-" — Afton trying to reassure himself-
3 ) Extremely shy when you first meet her. However, that doEs shift the moment one gets on her good side-
She's just vEry bubbly then- :^
4 ) She LOVES the kitchen, and wiLl proceed to evade all bans bcuz she just wants to be a chEf, man-
5 ) Also may or may not be subtly interested in acceSsoRiziNg-
Maybe that's why she snatches bear's hat the two times she's done it, bcuz the pizzeria doesn't define any buDget for acceSsoriEs and hats are all that exist- :^
6 ) Believes her cupcake can talk. Will arguE with you to dEath to prove that-
7 ) SpuTterS Dutch wherever and whenever she can-
At this stage it's like a little quiRk that she does noT know many English words, or confuses them around a lOt-
8 ) Can NoT sing, and the only explanation I haVe for it as of now is that her blueprint was subotaged of that ability before she was even completed-
That does make her purpose in the band seem quite obScure, but aside from the faint wisps of doubt at some times, she's not boThered about it-
9 ) Her jaw does nOt close all the way, but she has this habit of clenching-
It's painful, and smthn that only shows during stress, but it's there-
10 ) She's very direct about things. MoSt things at least-

Nah, I'm just kidding. It's almost done. Just, finishing up a few things, lol-
In light of that, have a few TBAS teasers for the upcoming chapters-
It's mostly banter, ngl-
Chapter 7's where the real mAgiK happens- :^
Chapter 4:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀For some reason, a sense, a dreadful warning kept him from turning around immediately. As if his mind and body were not ready for what they'd find there. As if, just like the bloodied corpse, it'd give him a sudden whiplash from which he wouldn't be able to recover.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Bonnie did look behind though, albeit the action was eventual, and more hesitant this time. His parts protested against all movement in that direction, creating a grating noise the further he turned away from the now-safer discovery.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀As his eyes locked onto whatever was there, whiplash indeed hit him. But alongside, a sharp sense of befuddlement, as, this time it wasn't a body.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀It was his head.
His own. Like, Bonnie the Bunny's head.
Eyeless sockets stared back at him, something profound and foreboding that he couldn't yet articulate.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Only seconds passing to staring at that, the next discovery was already underway. It was the voice, that call for help from before. Same pitch, same resonance, distress, everything ... all coming from that empty shell, set on the ground as if Bonnie had been gifted a trophy for making it this far. The rabbit had never in his short life expected things to go down that road, so it visibly terrified him. His ears flattened, and his shoulders shrank inward.
Chapter 5 :
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"It wasn't a nightmare! It was real!" The rabbit's voice was rising with each retort, before falling dramatically as he lifted his free hand in front of him. "Now, come with me and we'll reattach that old hook of yours."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Expecting the pirate to understand the gravity of the situation, Bonnie turned around so he could lead the way to the Parts and Service and remove the sharper, less kid-friendly weapon attached to Foxy's right arm. But, instead, what he got was the pirate's unwavering, "No."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He paused again, shoulders tensing as his gaze traveled back to the russet mascot, spotting him standing with his arms stubbornly crossed over his chest.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Bonnie's tone lowered to a dangerous pitch, "I'm not asking, Foxy."
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I don' care wha' ye're doin'. I ain' givin' up me hook." Came the pirate's blunt reply, and that .. that triggered something in him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Without a second thought, Bonnie spun back around, and trudged closer to the pirate, optics flickering with an unnatural intensity. For a second, the two others not involved in this altercation assumed he would actually hurt the vulpine, and that's finally when one of them jumped in between.
.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"That's enough." A huff, the human waving his hand to gesture he put that away. Following that instruction, Freddy moved to the next letter, but before he could read so much as a word from that one, a question bade him pause,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"By the way, what has come of that advice I gave you?" The shift in tone caused the ursine to tense, the coldness creeping up his spine as though a reminder of where he sat. Freddy's posture straightened, optics unable to lift from the messy lettering on the piece of paper.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He didn't know how to answer that question. His mind flicked back to the events from hours earlier with the altercation between Bonnie and Foxy, recalling how he had in fact, witnessed the early signs of Afton's warning. The consequences of forming emotional bonds. At that time he'd truly felt terrified that things could spiral further, so his mediation had been cold, resolving nothing in between.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Yet, a part of him was unable to shake off that faint pang of guilt that also accompanied that fear, as if he'd done something wrong.
Chapter 6 :
By that time, it was the trio's fourth conversational segment.
"You're right, Freddy!" Bonnie's reply sounded on cue, hand jerking over his guitar to mimic strumming. "It's what makes us such great friends! We're always there for one another!"
"I wouldn't want it any other way!" The bear's voice boomed with yet another chuckle, optical servos whirring and clicking as he focused them on the kids standing below. "Remember, kids! You don't make friends without being there for them! No respect means no friendship!"
"Speaking of friendship—" Chica started, both boys looking her way with their jerky, unstable movements almost replicating curiosity. The bird's pink optics rested on, nothing in particular, hand with the cupcake prop raising up slightly. The powerful motors in her jaw creaked as she continued, "Are you guys enjoying our delicious pizza? It's a friendship offering from Freddy and friends! Guarranteed to lighten your day!"
"I love pizza!" Bonnie expressed on her comment in his loud, jubilant voice, jolting back to face the audience in front of him.
"So do I, Bonnie!" Came Chica's reply, breaking into a chirpy laugh. "You can't have a good day at Freddy Fazbear's without our signature pizza!"
.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I have perfectly reasonable faces to react to a situation, but they're not always grumpy." Was his retort. His own hand grasped at hers and shoved it out of his line of sight, glowering like she was suddenly his greatest enemy in there.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀For a moment, he forgot about any exchange with his creator or that dreadful feeling in his chest, just the fact that he was labeled as grumpy by one of his bandmates. An offense greater than anything in mankind's history.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Chica did draw her hand back, but with it she'd also grunted. Rolling her eyes at his pitiful defense. "Oh, they are grumpy. You even get angry when I take that thing on your head for two seconds." In reference to the nights before where she had done exactly that. Twice.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Because it's MY hat," He smacked his hand over his chest for emphasis. The door's support was relinquished, and he'd leaned forward, optics flashing with indignation. "… and it's valid to react like that when the 'tronic taking it doesn't even know what it's called." He didn't raise his voice too much, but the desperation was eminent.
Possession takes place in different ways. Sometimes it alternates between visual and auditory hallucinations, other times it fully takes over and strips one's mind of seNse for several hours-
In Foxy's case, he has terrible, terrible hallucinations. Worse than the rest. Visceral, as if he's the one being ripped apart, piece by piece.
The first time he saw it, he was told to GO. They told him to GO even when he couldn't take a single step out of his Cove.
When blood puddled beneath and soaked into the carpet.
When bodies over bodies lay in front of him. Mangled.
When they reached for him, and tore him apart as if he was one of them, as if he had human parts underneath the machine.
He was told to GO.

My take on that minigame from FNAF 2- :>
This idea has been brewing under the surface for a long while, ever since I published my take on "Take Cake to the Children" on Wattpad, and then decided I'd rewrite thAt-
