First of all Honor board and the Activities Committee are separate things. It was an idea that yes, came up at the Activities Committee meeting, but then was taken to Tucker before anything else moved forward. Â
Secondly, this was something brought up to give the residents some sense of self autonomy and not feel like the Dominants or the powers that be were pushing them around. Â If people are going to get mad at the Activities Committee then I hope they have considered the fact that the point is for the decision to come from their fellow residents. Â The ones who their decisions could very well be affecting. Â I understand what you are saying, but most the residents coming here have some issue or another and that shouldnât be a carte blanche to ignore rules and do whatever they want without consequences. Â
Thirdly, I get people being upset Bryce left. Â Being shocked, or feeling like he had no choice. Â And Iâm not saying those arenât perfectly valid feelings. Â As the person who suggested punishment for Bryce in the first place, him leaving was not at all my intention. Â I take, and accept the responsibility for starting this that way, and until, if, we ever hear heâs made it somewhere safe, I am going to have to live with it. Â But his actions only confirmed what I saw. Â And running away is not taking responsibility for your actions. Â
Iâm sorry.  I didnât mean to go completely off on you like that.  Obviously I have some very strong feelings about this.  But yes⌠Iâm thinking a very temporary change of scenery maybe, for those interested.  With Tuckerâs permission.  Actually Iâm hoping Tucker will take the invitation as well.  Well, if it becomes a thing.  There is still a lot of logistics to figure out. Â
Youâre right, they are. I got my wires crossed, but you have to admit, they contain a few of the same people.
Of course there shouldnât be carte blanche to ignore the rules, thatâs not that Iâm suggesting. People have a right to be upset that Bryce left, and with that upset can come some hurtful actions. All Iâm saying is, we should be prepared for that to happen. It doesnât matter that other residents were involved, thatâs not a cure-all thatâll stop all negative reaction to what happened. But there has to be a difference from someone who could take a punishment and learn from it, and someone who can be awarded a punishment and runs from people trying to help them. If we canât even determine between the two, then what business do we have trying to dictate to these people?
Please, no. No apology needed. Itâs a touchy subject, and itâs all from a good place. To make sure the residents have everything they need. Oh, thatâs a lovely idea. Do you have even some vague ideas of what that change of scenery might be?
