oxthsworn:
So, there was no denying that Leon had been enjoying the festivities a little more than he had otherwise expected. Or mentally prepared for. So, between his jousting matches, he may have been… Indulging in some light hearted drining. Which led to drinking half of his companion under the table, and him with a fairly decent buzz. Spending most of your life aboard ships travelling from port to port, then in the company or mercenaries, happened to prepare you rather well for the life of indlgence when it came to spirits if nothing else. So, he was sufficiently cheery when it came time to move on to the next locale, only to bump in to a stranger as he passed.
“Apologies, my lord.” As much as he was adressing the other with the due respect a man of Sollian nobility, haven’t spent enough time there to recognize the fabrics cloaking the others frame, he also couldn’t help the grin, and then a short laugh at the next question. “Would that I were, unfortunately my professions involves even more sword handling the entertanment I’m sure you’re hoping.”
For a moment he’s almost surprised at being called my lord, he’d spent so much time waiting on the princes that at times it seemed like his own actual noble status was an afterthought at best. Still, he’s just focusing on the tall, muscled and somewhat rough looking man in front of him with a little tilt of his head. “Oh?”Cyrus’s eyebrows went up at the others words before he gave a soft laugh. “My, my, that is a shame. I do love a bit of sword handling. At one of the Sollian parties, you would have already been stripped naked and all shiny with oil.” He mused, mostly to himself as he sipped at his own wine before he continued a more pointed question to the man in front of him. “ I take it you were one of the fighters then? “ After all, this whole event was meant to be a celebration and a jousting event. Not everyone here could just be here for the show.
And the man certainly had the build of a fighter and the clothes of...well, not a noble man.
princesshelenus:
“That’s such a nice way to look at it. I…guess I understand. I always get excited when people visit me in Bergia, though I don’t think they usually appreciate the beauty…” People often complained that it was too cold, too snowy, too windy. Those things didn’t bother Helenus though. “Thank you. Delicate usually isn’t a word used for Bergians, but I’m afraid I’ve always had an affinity for such things. I’m fortunate that my parents are willing to get me clothes like that.” He, of course, had richer toned clothing of his house’s colors, but Pandora and Heracles also seemed to understand their youngest child’s preferences for more delicate items as well. “Well, as long as you say so. I know I’m a prince, but please don’t hesitate to change the topic to something that may be more your taste.”
“I’d suggest coming in the summer. It’s certainly not warm in the way Sollia is, but I’m afraid our winters might be a bit of a shock for you,” he laughed. “People just tend to be standoffish and less trusting, my parents included. We all just want what is best for our people though.”
“I think it’s a different sort of beauty than most people are use to. It’s easy to appreciate a beautiful beach and crystal skies, it’s takes more work to see the beauty in a icy, beautiful landscape or the newly fresh snow covering the land. Most people. I’m sure it will take my breath away. Besides, It would be a joy to see you again.” Cyrus said smoothly as he sipped at his ine again before he listened to those next words. “ You should never hide your nature. You’re hardly the first boy to enjoy thinks like silk and lace, and pretty rose gold. You look stunning in it. Possibly more than some of the kings and Queens around here.” He teased with a little nod back towards the rest of the party. He’s not mentioning that he’d spent some time with boy whores in exactly those sort of clothes, so perhaps his view of things was outside the norm. “I’ll take that under consideration but trust me when I say that the topic isn’t a bore to me. “ He added with a little grin.
“True I might turn into the worlds first Sollian ice sculpture. Not sure anyone wants that. Though there is some temptation to see it how your people do. In the middle of the frost. “ He hummed as he shot a bright smile at Helenus, enjoying the way the other laughed. “ Well, I’ll take that into consideration that not everyone is as welcoming as you.”
princesshelenus:
“If you’re positive. While I trouble my family often on accident, I feel much worse when it is someone I don’t know…” As for his guards, he didn’t blame them. He just wanted some privacy. Was that too much to ask? “I just know most royalty rather have dark, beautiful jewel tones like deep purples and reds. I admit I’m partial to white and pastels…. Perhaps it’s because I don’t believe such rich colors fit me.” They certainly fit most other people, but Helenus had always preferred softer things – right down to color. He was sure the other probably didn’t want to hear his ramblings about fashion though. “Sorry if it’s a bore.”
“Well, you see, with most of our year being a rather cold winter, it is rare to have such open and playful celebrations such as this one,” he sighed. He still enjoyed winter, but the short summers were a nice reprieve. “You’re always welcome, though I will warn you that our people can be as cold as our winters. They mean well though.”
“I am. I promise. It wasn’t any trouble. It was...actually quite nice to see my city though someone else eyes for a bit. Less trouble and more a gift.” He said, his eyes dancing teasingly yet he was being totally, utterly honest. The others company hadn’t exactly been terrible or troublesome. Cyrus gave a little nod at the others next words. He was’nt wrong, even his own princes tended to gravitate towards the darker tones for their crowns, along with bright gold. So it was...unique to see someone reaching for rose gold or something softer. “While, personally I think you could pull off almost any colour. You do give off...a certain affection for the softer, more gentle colours. It’s suits you. Delicate, even.” He said with a chuckle at the next part. “ You? A bore. Never, my prince.” He added with a little bow of the head.
“ I imagine it’s a nice change of scenery at the very least. “ He said with a little nod, a hand reaching up to brush though his own dark locks as he seemed amused with those next words. “And ours can be hot blooded and quick tempered. I’m sure I can hand a few icy comments to see what your wonderful country has to offer someone like me. Not like it’ll be a royal visit or anything.”
sunbathedprince:
alexius can’t help but laugh, grabbing cyrus by the arm and tugging him out to the balcony area. he liked cyrus, he was very helpful to alexius and his brothers, so he’d hate to see the nobleman get in trouble by rubbing up against the wrong royals. “not that i’m becoming a parent, but you gotta stay outta trouble. valtolian’s are notoriously uptight,” he hums, leaning up against the balcony and glancing at the other male.
“by the way, did you ever locate that book i asked you about a couple weeks ago? it was on the physiology of local fauna, i’ve exhausted my resources,” he grumbles, resting his chin on his hands.
There’s a happy, jovial laugh as he gets tugged out into the fresh air before he’s dropping back against the balcony with a little shake of his head at the other. “Well, that explains why I have’nt seen any bare dancers at this event. It’s dreadfully dull in a way.” He mused lightly as he clasps his hands in front of him. He might be a nobleman but the other was still a prince and he was still a gentleman in waiting. Even more so at an event like this, it required showing some sort of respect for the order of the world. And of course, the princes were actually...well, people he genuinely enjoyed the company of.
“I did fine it, this old musky place in the market had a copy. I’ve placed it by your beside for when you finally need to dive into the world of all things fauna and forma.” While Cyrus might have been a parting, somewhat careful boy. He did manage to do his job unlike anyone else, there was a little smile as he gave a nod. “ Sorry it took so long.”
princesshelenus:
“Is it really an honor? Or simply a burden?” he laughed. He still felt bad for getting the other mixed up in his misdeeds. Helenus had probably given the other the wrong idea that he was rebellious, when he was most certainly probably the least rebellious of all his brothers. Curious would be a better word. “You think so?” His eyes lit up. He loved being complimented on his clothing. “It’s one of my favorites so I thought it perfect for this event. I…know this is probably silly, but I love how pink it is. It’s quite beautiful, and has some of the best gems Bergia can offer.”
A wide grin came over him. “Of course. It’s quite different than being stuck in Bergia!” He then paused. Did that sound like he disliked his home? “Bergia is beautiful and wonderful, but it’s just not as lively.”
“Hey, hey woah. Escorting you was a pleasure, really.” Cyrus said lightly with a little bright genuine smile. It had been unexpected but exactly terrible. He could’nt miss the way the others eyes lit up so bright when he talked about his crown, a soft chuckle coming from Cyrus’s lips as he gave a little nod. “I really, really do. You have rather good taste, I think. It’s perfect for you and for the event. It’s not silly at all.” There was a warm smile at that. “It’s beautiful. As are the jewels and it’s...the perfect colour. So not silly at all.” He added again with a little nod.
Cyrus himself always loved a bit if adventure, so coming here was more than a little different from the bright sun, warm beaches of home. “I understand exactly what you mean, my prince. Something a bit...different can be adventures and fun. And it’s a stunning location for the event.” He pointed out before he leaned forward for a moment. “Though- I’ll admit, never been to Bergia myself. Not yet anyway. I’ll have to come visit you sometime.”
princesshelenus:
“Yes, I remember, as you helped me back to the palace,” he replied shyly. That had been embarrassing. To visit Sollia for the first time, escape your guard, and then manage to get lost. Needless to say, he hadn’t snuck off again. He’d gotten quite the scolding from his guards and warnings about what a nasty person could do to Helenus should one of them get the inkling, especially as he was essentially incapable of defending himself.
His hand went to his crown, and he gave the other a grin. “Ah, yes. It helps me stand out to the guards to.”
“I did and hey, it was an honour. Finding handsome little lost princes was a great experience.” Cyrus pointed out with a little flash of a grin of his own as he lowered his cup. It had been a sweet experience, despite his temptation to get between the others legs, considering how...native the other had seemed about the whole thing. Perhaps it was better that it didn’t happen. His eyes flick back up to the crown with a little nod. It really was quite the beautiful crown. “It certainly does at that. I doubt they’ll lose you in this crowd unless you’re super sneaky about the whole thing. And don’t tell the princes this but, honestly, it might be a better crown then the ones Sollian’s wear” He pointed out with a little wink.
Cyrus took a little step forward before he tilted his head. “You enjoying the event”
sunbathedprince:
despite being a social butterfly, parties could be hit or miss with alexius. he found himself getting bored with people acting prim and proper, and much rather preferred parties where people could be free without the red tape that kept them in line. unfortunately, the party surrounding the joust event seemed to be the former, and while drinks were flowing, everyone was still fairly modest.
he sighs as he makes his way through the crowd, bored of talking politics and the usual shallow semantics of a royal hierarchy. he barely recognizes cyrus as he walks past, scoffing with a gentle laugh. “are you drunk?” he teases, a hand on his hip. “don’t let my mom see you brushing with high-ranking nobles, you know my parents are uptight,” he offers a raised brow, shaking his head. “come, you need some fresh air.”
“Not quite though I am on my way.” He said, as ye turned to glance over at Alexius with a little smirk at the other boy. There was a certain level of comfort between them considering how they’d both been raised. “ Brushing? Technically I’m trying to sleep with them. Maybe seduce a queen or two.” He teased, his eyes dancing playfully as he sipped at his wine for a moment before he gave a little soft shrug at the others offer. The party would still be going by the time they came back, even if it was’nt as fun or as wild as some of the parties the princes threw back home.
“All right. lead the way, my prince.” He teased as he placed his empty cup on a passing tray before he brushed past a few people to follow Alexius though the crowds of every colour of the kingdom.
princesshelenus:
Helenus was enjoying the party. He enjoyed the dancing and some of the attention, though he was also unsure how to handle it all. It was really the first time that the youngest prince was out and in the eye of so many people. After all, between the war, his illness, and the unfriendly terrain of the Bergian mountains, he rarely had guests nor did he get to go out often. He’d worn his baby blue and white robes, with a rose gold crown that held pink gems – clearly indicating his status as a prince.
Excited, he barely realized that he’d slightly knocked into someone until they spoke. Turning around, he met the other’s eyes. “Oh…. I apologize for knocking into you,” he began, before he realized he recognized the other. “You’re that man from Sollia.” As for the entertainment bit, he wasn’t going to entertain that statement.
It’s hard not to notice those baby blue robes and the rose gold crown on the others head. You’d think that would have stemmed a few of those comments but Cyrus’s mouth always did seem to move faster than his brain. “Oh??” Cyrus said before a bright smile appeared on his lips. “I mean, you’re not wrong. Cyrus, at your service, my prince.” He said giving a little bow before he stood back up fully slightly. It was nice to see the handsome young prince who’d gotten lost in the market place again.
“It’s a pleasure to see you again, and in a crown this time no less.” came the easy tease as he sipped at his goblet of fine wine with a happy little hum.
Cyrus was just enjoying one of the parties surrounding the whole jousting event. He was dressed in the usual colours of a Sollian noble, the rich fabric’s flowing around his body perfectly as he held himself with the same grace as one of the princes...even if he was’nt one. Still, when you’re raised along side them, you tended to get the same lessons. All the same, Cyrus was perfectly in his element. He was someone who’d hated violence and adored parties. Adored the crowd and the feeling of pure joy that could only come from an unadulterated night of fun. Cyrus was just going to scoop up a goblet of wine as he brushed past the ground before he stopped in his tracks as someone tried to pass him.
“H- Oh.”
Cyrus blinked with a little arch his eyebrow before he flicked his eyes up and down the other with a wicked little grin.
“Please tell me you’re entertainment for tonight.” The guy was drop dead gorgeous.
maybe it was the alcohol in his stomach or the high he was riding from winning so many times in a row but achilles truly felt as if he was walking on sunshine. sure, he was the crown prince of bergia but he craved fun just as much as anyone else and, if anyone knew anything about anything, they would know that in the frozen wilds of bergia fun was something scarce like the rare sunny day sprinkled throughout the year or days where the biting cold was less than the day before it. the joust was the most outside interaction that achilles had had aside of hacking heads off in the war and he was more than willing to take advantage of the festivities. “i bet your weight in gold and then some that you can’t take me.” a foolish bet, especially seeing as the prince may have been slightly drunk, but foolishness came with youth and he still had plenty of it left. “triple if you can draw blood.”
For the most part Cyrus hated violence but he did rather enjoy parties and fun, he tended to be the sort that if you got him supplied with wine he’d just about do anything. Apparently that included going into a sword fight with prince of bergia but hey, Cyrus was just going to drown the last of his win from his cup before placing it on the table It’s hard to tell if he was more or less drunk than the prince in front of him but hey he was willing to push himself off the chair wit ha wicked little grin as he placed himself in front of the prince. “All right. I’ll take that bet.” the noble had Sollian blood running though his veins. Stupid impulsive choices tended to be...well, expected.
“You wanna pick a weapon or are we doing this fists style? Or old oil wrestling.? “
What do you look for in a potential bed partner, Cyrus?
I might be...less picky than some people. I’ll admit when it comes to bedding someone. I’m the first to admit that I’m a flirt at royal parties and at any event with some wine. Charm is important though- getting my attention is just as much fun when you give as good as you get, you know?
Though if you’re handsome, charming and with a big dic-.. sense of adventure. You’re pretty much my dream boat.
And a hint of royal blood would’nt hurt either.
Or like, message me for a starter. :P
princesshelenus:
“I don’t think my brothers have done anything to that extent.” Of course, all the fun things got hidden from him. He wondered if it was possible to be even more sheltered than he was. “I’m afraid I’ve never built up a tolerance, so it is just something I avoid.” He didn’t like the idea of getting drunk either. The young prince had enough issues without dealing with something that could catch him off guards. “It is not that it makes me uncomfortable. As I said, I am just not used to it. My family dotes upon me and my looks, but I feel like that is completely separate of someone else doing so…” As the towers came into view, he felt a little better. “I hope my guards aren’t still searching for me in the market…”
“Oh yeah? Then...well-..turns out your princes and princess seem less trouble than mine.” he pointed out lightly chuckling was he reached up and scratched behind his head with his hand as he grinned over at the other. It was tempting to point out that no one in Sollia would ever “never not have a tolerance of it.” but it seemed like a pointless comment. “That’s a shame.” He said simply with a little shrug as they walked. Cyrus’s head tilted as he listened to those next words. Äh. I suppose that’s true enough. Family...tends to be a special thing, even when it comes to compliments. Rest assured- you’re worth all the compliment.” He said as he grinned up at the palance with a little wave of his hand. “ I’ll be sure to send one of the footmen to run and inform your guards that you’re little trip is over and to come home. Don’t worry too much about it.” He said. “Of course, perhaps you should stay closer to home now. Try the spas or the hot springs, instead of wandering out into the market by yourself.”
