“After his serious crash at the World Cup final in Planica (SLO), Daniel Andre Tande’s condition is constantly improving. The former Ski flying World Champion returned home to Norway on Friday. “The transport went well and Daniel is doing fine. He was taken to the Akershus University Hospital near Oslo. In this hospital, Daniel is in good hands and he continues to receive treatment of his injuries. Daniel and his family now need time to rest”, explained the doctor of the Norwegian team, Guri Ranum Ekaas. Daniel Andre Tande was taken from Ljubljana to Oslo with an ambulance jet on Friday.”

Manager Clas Brede Bråthen admits that a tear fell when he learned that Daniel-André Tande had woken up and talked to his family. Later on Monday, they talked together on FaceTime. - There were some quick comments. He was like the boy we have become so fond of, Bråthen says to VG. He says that Tande’s mother organized the video call, so that they could see each other on FaceTime. His mother and girlfriend are currently at the hospital with him. “You must not think that you can get rid of me so easily”, was probably the first thing he said. With this a heavy load fell from my shoulders, says a clearly moved Clas Brede Bråthen. - It was very good for me with Daniel. He was probably still a little dizzy, but he expressed that it was nice to talk to me. It was good that Daniel was Daniel, and even from the hospital bed he had smiled, says Bråthten. Themanager was called from Slovenia’s ski association early Monday morning. - They reminded me that they had said that “it should go well”. Then I was told that Daniel had woken up and was talking. For me, a person who is so easily moved, I must admit that some tears fell, says Clas Brede Bråthen. - I can not fully praise the Slovenes, both the ski association and the medical apparatus. They have gone far beyond what we could expect. We are grateful for everything they have done, says the jump manager. The family of Daniel-André Tande sent out a press release earlier on Monday stating that “It was very good to come to the hospital and see that Daniel was awake and that he was himself. It has been painful and long days of waiting. But it is good to know that Daniel has been well taken care of.”
Bråthen emphasizes that Tande is not ready to jump again immediately, but that he is in good shape according to the conditions. The Norwegian jumper has suffered a broken collarbone and a punctured lung from his fall.
To NTB, Clas Brede Bråthen says that Tande has not seen the fall. "I do not need to see it until I am as old as you, Clas,” Daniel told me. Then I realized that it was good, old Daniel.

THIS IS THE NEWS I WANTED TO WAKE UP TO
We arrived in Slovenia yesterday. Then the process of waking him up had begun. It was very good to arrive at the hospital today and see that Daniel was awake, and that he was himself.
It has been long and hard days waiting, but it's good to know Daniel has been looked after, and that he's recovering in calm and safe environments. The doctors and support team has given Daniel the best treatment you can think of. He's being treated as a King!
The follow up the family has received from Clas and the team is amazing and couldn't be better. We thank you for all your support, and wish for calmness around the process of getting Daniel back home to Norway.
- Tande's family.

Daniel is somewhat awake, can make eye-contact, is reacting when he's spoken to and moves!
His mom and Anja are there now and will stay for a couple of days as more check-ups will be done. Clas has been with him for the past days.
I don't know if someone has made an update already, my whole dash is watching f1
