Alien Invasions and what Donna Noble was doing during each one of them
Auton invasion: had a vino collapso during an office party and accidentally told one of her colleagues she fancied him. He laughed in her face, so she grabbed the wine bottle, sent them all to hell and arrived home at 3 am with just one shoe and slept through the next day like a log.
World War Three / Slitheen invasion: Donna was finally going to get her driving license. FINALLY because she’d already failed the exam two times, but that’s just cause the examiner was always the same and he was a certified asshole. She was in the middle of a tight turn in her practical test when said asshole saw something falling from the sky and screamed “WATCH OUT” and Donna lost her concentration and smashed one of the rear lights against a corner. She went home with the broken light a bump on the side of HER MOTHER’S CAR car and needless to say the argument carried on for the next three days. Nobody heard Wilf saying how they had found a pig in a spacesuit in Downing Street.
Christmas / Sycorax invasion: she decided to quit her job once and for all. And to celebrate, much to her purse’s dismay, with expensive champagne for Christmas Eve. She got the hangover of the century and remained blissfully unaware, during Christmas Day, of the fact that Sylvia (blood A positive) had gone up to the roof and was dangerously close to the edge.
Daleks / Cybermen invasion: scuba-diving in Spain. There were, in fact, cybermen making their way through the beach, but she was so far-off from the shore the only thing she said was: “Funny how things look from afar, all those people look like ants. Metal ants…” There was ALSO a dalek underwater, but Donna mistook it for an angler fish (what is an angler fish doing in the Mediterranean anyway?) and sent it straight back into the void with a punch.
Titanic replica almost crashing into Buckingham Palace: at this point she was actively looking for the Doctor and investigating all the paranormal events she could find, but alas, Nerys had decided to invite her friends to a fancy restaurant cause she just got the most marvellous new job and how could she not go? Somebody had to make the snarky remarks. She got food poisoning from some fancy lobster soup and spent the next day going in and out of the bathroom. She barely caught a glimpse of the Titanic replica on the news.

Apparently the reason the 5th doctor wore a stick of celery was because Peter Davison really hated it, so as a joke the creators thought I know! and gave him a stick of celery to wear and also made him eat it multiple times, just to annoy the hell out of him. There’s even a video of this shot of him spitting it out immediately after the director says ‘cut’!

Something I love about Doctor Who season 1 so far is just how incompetent the Doctor is. Like NuWho Doctors are off taking their companions on bite-sized, field trip adventures full of fun and wonder, whereas season 1 is like:
Doctor who and we’re starving in a cave and about to be sacrificed.
Doctor who and oh god we’re all dying of radiation sickness
Doctor who and we are literally trying to kill each other now
Doctor who and oh god we’re all dying of dehydration…

I just think the doctor’s companions should unionize
It’s always like “Doctor…did you used to travel with someone else…before you met me? What…what happened to them?” And then the doctor gets enigmatic and angsty which is not helpful and I just think if these women got each others’ contact info and started having regular meetings they could establish some baseline workplace safety regulations.
The TARDIS herself would give them the past companions numbers lmao, and the Doctor would have to pay a basic wage of £15 per hour plus £50 hourly if they get stranded in an alien planet for more than 4 hours. Paid lunch breaks, and vacations
