Donna had been staying at home as much as possible since the twins were born a few months ago. Both of the newborns were beginning to develop different personalities, Leon being more adventurous and social while Mira was more into creative outlets and staying with her parents. 

Now, Donna had just settled the twins down for a nap and settled Vernon and herself on the couch to watch some tv. She had heard of a cartoon about a fictional world where people could control the elements, and only one person could bend all four of them. A few episodes in and it had easily become her favorite show. 

It caused her to think, could someone in this world control the elements as well?

When the Sun that morning was in the process of rising - throwing a glittering gold sheen across New Asgard - Freya's signature Phoenix Cry could be heard in the far off distance as she glided in and over the rooftops like a ball of scorching fire, eventually finding her way to Donna's window where she - somehow - managed to perch.

Donna woke with a smile on her face as she heard the familiar cry of her friend. She got up from her bed and opened the large window overlooking New Asgard, allowing Freya to come in. 

“Thank you for the wake up call, Freya.” The Asgardian smiled as she stepped to the side. She truly was excited that Freya had come today, most likely to meet the twins. However they hadn’t told anybody they had twins, just Sarah and Thor when they visited. 

“I’m sure you didn’t come just to check on little ol’ me, right? You’re here to meet someone.” Donna said with a smirk.

The Asgardian mother smiled as her daughter met her half-sister. She sighed a bit as the blanket was draped around her shoulders. Donna’s eyes grew a bit wider as a question formed on her mind. 

“Freya... you didn’t.... scan my body when I was pregnant, did you?” Tears welled in her eyes as she pulled the blanket closer around herself. “We tried so hard to keep everything a secret.... we didn’t even want to know the gender let alone that there were two of them....” She was worried she had been violated, her hands wrapping around her stomach in defense. 

“Please....” Donna’s voice dropped to a whisper. “Please just tell me you didn’t scan me.”

A note arrives at Donna and Agamottos apartment. "The King and Queen of Asgard request a visit to you as soon as you are well and able to receive visitors. We are excited to meet the new addition to the family"

Donna couldn’t chuckle at how formal her old friend was being. Yes, he was the king, but that had never stopped him from being a goofball in the past. Luckily for her, the nanny had been staying in their guest room to assist while they got used to having three children and while Donna recovered.

“Ingrid, would you please send word to the King and Queen that their presence is more than welcome at this time.” She said with a smile before grabbing a simple gown to change into. Her hair was a bit messy but she couldn’t do much about it, and makeup was out of the question.

Instead, she put a kettle on the stove and placed several scones that her loving husband had made on a plate for when their guests arrived.

Donna couldn’t help but to chuckle at her friends. As if to remind her that she turned it on, the kettle on the stove started whistling. 

“Ah! Hold that thought!” The young woman said as she jogged out of the nursery to the stove, taking the kettle off the heat and pouring the water into a handmade pot that already had a few bags of cinnamon tea inside. Donna then returned to the nursery with a smile. 

“I haven’t eaten yet, and don’t start yelling at me yet! I had to make sure my husband was ready to take Vernon out for the day, then these two started fussing. I did get some scones out for the three of us, so if you two would like to follow me, we can put the twins in the swinging chairs in the living room.” She said, standing and holding her arm out as if to motion for her friends to join her.

“Donna,” Thor followed his friend out, holding Mira carefully. “You do need to eat. And you need to slow down.”

He put an arm around Donna, leading her to the table.

“Now sit down here,” he addressed her. “I’m surely capable of handling everything in the kitchen. No arguments.” He handed Mira back to her mother. “You just sit here, have a cup of tea, enjoy your daughter and relax. Don’t make me…” he snapped his fingers over and over to stimulate his thinking. “What’s the phrase Sarah uses? Man handleing?…That doesn’t sound right, although she always accuses me of such a thing when she refuses to relax herself.”

Sarah followed Thor out to the kitchen, with Leon in her arms. She sat herself down at the table with Donna while her husband busied himself in the kitchen.

“We’re doing this because we care,” she reminded Donna, patting her hand in reassurance. “When I woke up from my coma after Elizabeth, I was running myself ragged trying to get stuff done and more. Hell, I went over to Loki and Freyas house at one point and organized the crap out of the kids toys. I was out of control. Thor had to drag me out of there for a nap before I could attempt to organize their garden by flora name and amount.”

Donna pouted and huffed as Thor sat her down, however her demeanor completely changed when Mira was placed in her arms. 

“Hello my little girl.” She smiled as she rubbed the bridge of the baby’s nose, Mira making happy noises in response. The little girl opened her eyes for the first time, revealing pale blue eyes. “Ooooo look at you, sweetheart!” The councilwoman cooed as Sarah and Leon joined them at the table, sighing at the Queen’s story.

“I remember…. and I know. Just with the surprise of the two of them I feel like I need to be everywhere at once. It is exhausting, but I’ll try to relax more often, I promise.”

“I may not know much about raising twins,” Thor remarked, ungracefully planting the china on a tray before bringing it over to the table. “But Loki and I were a handful as children and we’re about the same age–though, I’m the oldest.” Thor smirked before gulping down a cup of tea in one go. “I imagine it was stressful for mother at times. And look at the twins Loki and Freya have. I love those two, but they can be hellions and ruthless when it comes to video games. I don’t know how my sister manages to not go nuts!”

“But,” he said as he took a bit of a scone. “You don’t need to be everywhere at once, Donna. We have a palace full of servants willing to help and you need to ease back into life slowly. Not all at once. You’ll go mad.”

Sarah shook her head at Thor.

“You’re not helping Donna by comparing her children to how you and Loki behaved as kids, or sneaking into the conversation your grudge against the twins beating you at Super Mario Kart,” she remarked before throwing a cloth napkin at him. “And wipe your face. You’re a king, for Odins sake.”

Sarah held Donnas hand.

“Elizabeth and Vernon are easier to manage right now,” she said. “If you feel overwhelmed, I can handle them for a while if you want to take a nap or eat a meal in peace. We’re here to help, Donna.”

Donna smiled as she fixed her tea and grabbed a scone. Cranberry orange topped with cinnamon sugar, her favorite. To be honest, Thor’s manners hadn’t changed in decades, so seeing Sarah try to change his habits was pretty entertaining.

“Mario kart? I’ll have to ask the kids about that, see if they can teach me when I have some down time.” The Asgardian woman smiled as she took a sip. Tears almost welled in her eyes at her friends offers.

“No, I couldn’t ask that of you two.” Donna shook her head before looking over at Leon then down at Mira. “I’ve just got my hands full today is all. Promise. As soon as Agamotto returns I’m taking a very long bath, and Ingrid will be back tomorrow to assist around the house. However, Ingrid did give us a two seated stroller, so when I inevitably use it it might be nice to have some company.”

“Those twins cheat, you know,” Thor remarked. “Don’t take too much away from their lessons. But do promise us that you’ll really relax once Agamotto gets here.”

He smiled warmly.

“Can’t have our head of council too overwhelmed.”

Sarah perked up

“One of your gifts should be a home spa package,” she remembered. “Here, Thor, take Leon for a moment.”

After handing the baby to Thor, the Queen got up from her seat and headed over to the pile of presents she and her husband brought over. Raising her arms about to perform a mystical incantation, she scrunched her nose to think.

“There’s a few bath bombs in there if I’m not mistaken,” she thought out loud. “And I think they are in…this one!”

A quick turn of her wrist brought up an emerald green gift wrapped box floating away from the pile and towards Donna at the kitchen table

Both twins were pretty small compared to how Vernon was as a newborn, but seeing Leon in Thor’s massive arms also made Donna chuckle. The council woman stuck her tongue out at her friend at the mention of work, but her eyes grew wide as Sarah mentioned a gift basket for her.

“Oh man, you know I love those things!” Donna smiled, referring to the bath bombs. She wasted no time in opening the package with several of the scented spheres in them along with some hand creams and mud masks. “Vanilla, mint and cinnamon! Thank you, you guys.” She picked up one of the red and orange spheres, sniffing it before placing the basket down on the table.

“Of course I’ll ease back into work. And yes, I promise I’ll take it easy.” She said, looking over as Leon opened his eyes to look at Thor with his caramel-colored eyes.

A note arrives at Donna and Agamottos apartment. "The King and Queen of Asgard request a visit to you as soon as you are well and able to receive visitors. We are excited to meet the new addition to the family"

Donna couldn’t chuckle at how formal her old friend was being. Yes, he was the king, but that had never stopped him from being a goofball in the past. Luckily for her, the nanny had been staying in their guest room to assist while they got used to having three children and while Donna recovered.

“Ingrid, would you please send word to the King and Queen that their presence is more than welcome at this time.” She said with a smile before grabbing a simple gown to change into. Her hair was a bit messy but she couldn’t do much about it, and makeup was out of the question.

Instead, she put a kettle on the stove and placed several scones that her loving husband had made on a plate for when their guests arrived.

"Cock-a-doodle-doo and all that." Freya's telepathic voice could be heard alongside a soft chuckle as the Phoenix-esque creature meandered through the open window with grace rather unexpected of such a large creature - about as tall as a doorframe with her neck fully craned out and as long a Truck from beak to tail.

"This form doesn't... disturb you, does it? I can shift into my human form if you wish." The Goddess called out once again. As far as Freya knew this was the first time Donna had seen her more natural form and she knew from experience that many weren't all that fond of her like this. Even still; it felt good to use this form, almost as though she were stretching out her wings for the first time in ages.

At the Councilwoman's comment regarding her visit though Freya would let out another chuckle before gently extending her wing to carefully hold Donna in a light embrace. "True, true... I still wanted to make sure you were well, of course. Despite me living a good three years amidst your kind the process of watching you fall into a Coma is still a nerve racking one."

Donna chuckled at the rooster joke as Freya entered. 

“I haven’t seen a Phoenix in person, but it doesn’t disturb me at all. Agamotto has shown me sketches he drew in the past so I’ve had a pretty good idea at your natural form.” She smiled into the warm feathery embrace. 

“Right, I was told you lived there for a while, but I can only assume it was during the 100 years I spent traveling the universe studying herbs.” Donna smiled at the memory. “I know it’s frightening to witness, but I’m pretty content with the children I have now.” She chuckled. 

“You might want to change to your human form though when you meet my special little someone.” Donna said with a mischievous smirk, purposefully leaving out the fact that she had twins. She was so far loving everyone’s reaction to the surprise so she decided to make it last as long as possible.

“Oh yes, of course, wouldn’t want to frighten the little one afterall.” Freya replied, her intense crimson eyes curving upwards in what was no doubt as close to a smile she could get in this form.

On that note the Goddess would shut her eyes, focusing on her outward appearance and willing it to change. There was a brief swirl of Crimson Seidr that originated from her feet and worked its way up, Freya’s human appearance revealing itself as though a blanket were being lifted from over top of her.

When all was said and done Freya stood barefoot, draped in a flowing dress that almost appeared sewn from the Feathers she’d sported moments beforehand. Her long fiery hair draping over her shoulders almost seemed to blend in with the rest of her attire it would seem.

“I think I managed to give a few people on the ground a good spook as I flew over.” The Phoenix chuckled with her own smirk, as though mirroring Donna’s expression.

“And now I can get a proper hug.” Donna walked over to where Freya stood and gave her a quick hug before returning to her bedroom door. She opened it to reveal a beautifully painted nursery door on the other side of the hallway. Green and purple flowers adorned the wood along with flowing golden vines that connected everything. 

“Right through here..... they might be sleeping, but we’ll see.” The Asgardian said with a bright smile as she opened the nursery door, revealing not one but two little bassinets each containing a week old baby. 

“Freya, meet Mira and Leon.”

“And how is me hugging you in my Phoenix form not proper? If Loki’s commentary is anything to go by I’d figure it would be even better than a hug in this form.” Freya chuckled while moving to return Donna’s rather quick embrace.

Following behind the Councilwoman Freya would marvel at the decoration that had been put in since she’d last visited. “Did Father help with all this? I visited not too long ago so as to check on him but most of this decore hadn’t been put up yet.” She’d add before finally reaching the Nursery itself.

Upon seeing the two Bassinets however; the Goddess didn’t seem even the least bit surprised. Elated to see her new Siblings, yes, but not so much surprised.

“May I?” Freya requested, moving so as to crouch down beside little Mira’s crib in hopes that she might briefly hold the sleepy babe. She didn’t make a move just yet though, instead waiting for Donna’s approval.

"Agamotto and I painted that when we came home with the twins. It was his idea, he wanted to tie a bit of both of us into the decor." Donna smiled as she looked at the door. She sat down in one of the rocking chairs as Freya was standing over Mira's crib.

"Yes, of course! They just ate and were burped, so she should be rather calm for you." The councilwoman said after missing a beat. She tried not to wonder why Freya wasn't surprised, but it was a little hard not to think about.

"She's got piercing light blue eyes, and Leon over here has these caramel-brown eyes. They're both gorgeous, and I love that the five of us each have different eye colors."

Thor fiddled with his armour and cape before he popped his fake eye in. It was custom for the King and Queen of Asgard to visit and congratulate new mothers on their staff but this was more special since it was family who had went through birth. Not much news was given except for the fact that Donna was healthy and the delivery went well.

He sighed after having trouble putting his eye in. He’d have to get it refitted. 

“Do you think Donna would mind if I showed up wearing the eyepatch?” he asked his wife

With a twirl of her finger, Sarah had the ribbons on the gifts for Donna and the new baby tie themselves in lovely bows, stacked and ready to go. She let out a breath, satisfied that she had gotten something done in time, before walking towards her husband, her green velvet gown swishing with every step.

The head councilwoman had sent her husband and oldest son out for the day to make sure that the boy didn’t feel overshadowed by the new babies. Both parents decided they would take turns, but with the King and Queen coming to visit her, Donna decided to send Agamotto out this time. 

“Come on in!” She giggled a bit, settling the twins in their bassinets before opening the nursery door. “We’re in here!” She smiled before joining the royal couple, shocked at the presents in each of their arms. 

“On any normal day I would tell you to take them home, but it looks as if we’ll be needing more things….” Donna said before leading Sarah and Thor to the nursery. 

“Guys….. meet Mira and Leon.”

That was when the King of Asgard stopped and saw the two babies in their bassinets.

“…I’m seeing double,” he was frozen to the spot. “…Sarah, I’m seeing two babies.”

“There we go…. Leon and his Aunty Sarah.” She smiled and picked up Mira from her crib. “Thor, please come over here and hold this baby.” The Asgardian continued to laugh as he friend looked frozen to his spot.

“We shall have to have another celebration,” he remarked softly, gazing at the newborn. “The kingdom would be happy to know that a prominant noblewoman gave birth to two blessings. I’m sure Sarah would see to all the arrangements. I won’t take no for an answer, Donna. A celebration must be held.”

Donna couldn’t help but to keep chuckling at how small her daughter looked in Thor’s arms. She sat in the rocking chair across from the bassinets as they spoke. 

“He likes to think he knew it was twins, playing it off like he noticed, but he was just as surprised as I was.” She gave a deep sigh at Thor’s celebration talk. “Oh come now, Thor. I haven’t even been awake for a week, let me get back into the swing of things before we have another party, pleeeeeeeease.” Donna pleaded with big puppy dog eyes that used to work on her friend when they were younger…. hopefully they still worked now.

“He’s actually doing rather well with them! He calls them Mimi and Leo, and has been pretty good at understanding that they need a bit more help from Mommy and Daddy than he does.” The Asgardian smiled on, quickly daydreaming of all three of her children playing together one day. “Plus his nanny Ingrid has offered to help around a bit more, at least until I’m fully on my feet again.”

“Thank you for the wake up call, Freya.” The Asgardian smiled as she stepped to the side. She truly was excited that Freya had come today, most likely to meet the twins. However they hadn’t told anybody they had twins, just Sarah and Thor when they visited. 

“I’m sure you didn’t come just to check on little ol’ me, right? You’re here to meet someone.” Donna said with a smirk.

Freya's telepathic voice could be heard alongside a soft chuckle as the Phoenix-esque creature meandered through the open window with grace rather unexpected of such a large creature - about as tall as a doorframe with her neck fully craned out and as long a Truck from beak to tail.

"This form doesn't... disturb you, does it? I can shift into my human form if you wish." The Goddess called out once again. As far as Freya knew this was the first time Donna had seen her more natural form and she knew from experience that many weren't all that fond of her like this. Even still; it felt good to use this form, almost as though she were stretching out her wings for the first time in ages.

At the Councilwoman's comment regarding her visit though Freya would let out another chuckle before gently extending her wing to carefully hold Donna in a light embrace. "True, true... I still wanted to make sure you were well, of course. Despite me living a good three years amidst your kind the process of watching you fall into a Coma is still a nerve racking one."

“I haven’t seen a Phoenix in person, but it doesn’t disturb me at all. Agamotto has shown me sketches he drew in the past so I’ve had a pretty good idea at your natural form.” She smiled into the warm feathery embrace. 

“Right, I was told you lived there for a while, but I can only assume it was during the 100 years I spent traveling the universe studying herbs.” Donna smiled at the memory. “I know it’s frightening to witness, but I’m pretty content with the children I have now.” She chuckled. 

“You might want to change to your human form though when you meet my special little someone.” Donna said with a mischievous smirk, purposefully leaving out the fact that she had twins. She was so far loving everyone’s reaction to the surprise so she decided to make it last as long as possible.

“Oh yes, of course, wouldn’t want to frighten the little one afterall.” Freya replied, her intense crimson eyes curving upwards in what was no doubt as close to a smile she could get in this form.

On that note the Goddess would shut her eyes, focusing on her outward appearance and willing it to change. There was a brief swirl of Crimson Seidr that originated from her feet and worked its way up, Freya’s human appearance revealing itself as though a blanket were being lifted from over top of her.

When all was said and done Freya stood barefoot, draped in a flowing dress that almost appeared sewn from the Feathers she’d sported moments beforehand. Her long fiery hair draping over her shoulders almost seemed to blend in with the rest of her attire it would seem.

“I think I managed to give a few people on the ground a good spook as I flew over.” The Phoenix chuckled with her own smirk, as though mirroring Donna’s expression.

“And now I can get a proper hug.” Donna walked over to where Freya stood and gave her a quick hug before returning to her bedroom door. She opened it to reveal a beautifully painted nursery door on the other side of the hallway. Green and purple flowers adorned the wood along with flowing golden vines that connected everything. 

“Right through here..... they might be sleeping, but we’ll see.” The Asgardian said with a bright smile as she opened the nursery door, revealing not one but two little bassinets each containing a week old baby.

Donna couldn’t chuckle at how formal her old friend was being. Yes, he was the king, but that had never stopped him from being a goofball in the past. Luckily for her, the nanny had been staying in their guest room to assist while they got used to having three children and while Donna recovered.

“Ingrid, would you please send word to the King and Queen that their presence is more than welcome at this time.” She said with a smile before grabbing a simple gown to change into. Her hair was a bit messy but she couldn’t do much about it, and makeup was out of the question.

Instead, she put a kettle on the stove and placed several scones that her loving husband had made on a plate for when their guests arrived.

It was custom for the King and Queen of Asgard to visit and congratulate new mothers on their staff but this was more special since it was family who had went through birth. Not much news was given except for the fact that Donna was healthy and the delivery went well.

He sighed after having trouble putting his eye in. He’d have to get it refitted.

Agamotto had just been tucking Vernon in for the night after reading him a bed time story. Just as he turned the light off and closed the door to his room, a knock was heard at the front door. The old god wasn't expecting any visitors today, so he took his time walking down the hall. The last person he was expecting to see was his nanny looking slightly disheveled and out of breath.

"Sir! Sir, you're needed at the medical ward. It's time!" She said with a smile as she took a step to the side, allowing the old god to sprint past. Should he be running? Probably not.

But Donna needed him.

The heart rate monitors hooked up to the head councilwoman were steady as he eyes began to flutter open. It had been months since she had arrived and finally the day had come. When her eyes finally opened, Donna was thrilled to see her husbands handsome face next to her. She grabbed onto one of his hands and squeezed tightly. 

“Hey....” Donna said before clearing her throat. She hadn’t spoken in so long, it took a second for her voice to warm up. Agamotto has since kissed her forehead and moved her bangs out of her face as a few nurses bustled around them preparing. 

The birth was rather quick compared to what she endured with Vernon. When all was said and done and the nurses were leaving the room, Agamotto was on the bed snuggling with his wife, and the two little newborns that laid on her chest.

“I need to redo the nursery....” The old god chuckled, brushing Donna’s sweat soaked hair from her face and placing kisses on her head, cheeks and lips. “I should paint half of it purple and half of it green.” He chuckled, hoping to make her smile. It worked. She had leaned her head towards him and kissed him on the lips once again. 

“I know you had a few names in mind, and this is the perfect scenario.... one little boy and one little girl.” He smiled as his hand rubbed on the backs of the twins. 

“Welcome to the family, Mira and Leon.”

Twenty minutes. They had been a part of this word for twenty minutes, and Donna now had three reasons to be the greatest mother on the planet instead of two. Of course it was a shock to them both, but no one had ever really checked to see if it were twins or not because they were being so cautious not to check the sex of the baby.... well, babies.

"They're perfect..... hello Mira..... hello Leon." The head councilwoman smiled as he thumb rubbed the cheek of each twin. Both children seemed to instantly recognize their mothers voice and gave what looked like little smiles.

"I can't wait to see their eye colors.... what their hair grows out to be....." Donna began rambling a bit before sighing, leaning over and kissing both little heads. Realization struck the young mothers face and she turned her head to Agamotto.

"Vernon's still asleep, right? You put him to bed before you came?"

Agamotto had just been tucking Vernon in for the night after reading him a bed time story. Just as he turned the light off and closed the door to his room, a knock was heard at the front door. The old god wasn't expecting any visitors today, so he took his time walking down the hall. The last person he was expecting to see was his nanny looking slightly disheveled and out of breath.

"Sir! Sir, you're needed at the medical ward. It's time!" She said with a smile as she took a step to the side, allowing the old god to sprint past. Should he be running? Probably not.

But Donna needed him.

The heart rate monitors hooked up to the head councilwoman were steady as he eyes began to flutter open. It had been months since she had arrived and finally the day had come. When her eyes finally opened, Donna was thrilled to see her husbands handsome face next to her. She grabbed onto one of his hands and squeezed tightly. 

“Hey....” Donna said before clearing her throat. She hadn’t spoken in so long, it took a second for her voice to warm up. Agamotto has since kissed her forehead and moved her bangs out of her face as a few nurses bustled around them preparing. 

The birth was rather quick compared to what she endured with Vernon. When all was said and done and the nurses were leaving the room, Agamotto was on the bed snuggling with his wife, and the two little newborns that laid on her chest.
