Diamonds Aren't This Girl's Best Friend || OPEN
"Edible jewelry is the best kind of jewelry!" She laughed before taking a bite of one of the 'beads' on the bracelet that was on her wrist. She didn't really care if she looked lady like at the moment. She was enjoying her bracelet.
Farther and Faster || Beck and Cyril
He usually tried to stay inside during the winter. It was better that way. Sweating and cold did not get along, and though he had a strong immune system, he also wasnât in a position where he was okay with risking illness. It wasnât that heâd be brutally murdered if he took a day or two off work, or that he had a horrible fear of germs. But the worst thing Cyril could imagine was his body failing, even temporarily. He went to such lengths to keep it in perfect condition, going to the gym every day, sometimes even more than once, eating healthy, everything one was supposed to do.
But he could only run in place for so long before he went stir crazy, and today heâd reached his breaking point. So instead of going to the gym, Cyril dressed in sweats and a t-shirt, pulling on a pair of running shoes, before he headed out the door in a sprint, making his way into the forest. It didnât take very long for him to get there, losing track of time and where he was going as he ran. Cyril wasnât lost, of course, having grown up and run these trails more times than he could count. That was the magic of running. He lost track of everything, except the beat of his heart and steady rhythm of his body, going faster and further than most anyone else could dream of without a break, years of conditioning getting him into the shape he needed to be.
He only stopped running when he saw girl coming his way, the path too narrow for both of them to fit. So he stopped, only for a moment, stepping off to the side and tugging off his shirt, taking a deep breath as he realized that not only was he hot and sweating, but also slightly sore. He hadnât had a good run in far too long.
Beck was out enjoying a run in the cold, it probably wasn't the best time to be running but she needed to check the grounds anyway. They always did a patrol. Since she was alone today and a walk would be much colder in the long run, she'd decided to go running. It wasn't a short route and it would mean she didn't have to go to the gym or otherwise today since she tried to keep herself in good enough shape so she could keep up with the others. Plus, she enjoyed the activity this place required and was determined to keep up with it.
She kept and eye out for everything around her as she ran. Animals were used to her though many still remained unseen she could see the signs of them that scattered the woods of the sanctuary. Foot prints and places where branches were shaken and dropped the snow off of it. Her eyes following the trails used by the animals and knowing where many of them frequented.
She was used to the paths here and though she was here almost every day there usually weren't any others out on the trails in the winter. In the summer they were occasionally run by those not wishing to run the roads. But the winter.... not so much. It was strange to see someone else out here and she found herself pausing to greet the now shirtless man who stood on the edge of the trail. Slowing before she got to him she came to walk a few feet before him. "Hey there hotshot, be careful on these trails... Â the woods aren't the most winter friendly places." She knew to look for branches or out of place things on the trails... but not everyone did.
Mr.Marty || Elisa and Beck
"Anyone I would know?" She asked then stopped talking. "Well⌠you probably wouldnât know who I would know." She said with a hint of a nervous laugh. She usually was so good about making sure things made sense before saying them. Maybe she was getting more comfortable around people and slipping up⌠she didnât like it. Being organized and collected was exactly what she wished to be known for and she wasnât that then⌠she didnât know what she was.Â
Beck laughed. "No but if you've ever been flirted with by an australian with an ego too big for his britches then you might have met Jake..." She laughed. "Brooke Carson and Taran Imani are the other two. Love them all, but I don't know what much of us do outside of the sanctuary... it takes up a lot of time..." She shrugged. She knew what she did but even though she loved the others, they were all avid animal lovers as well and when together they just fed off one another.
Misplaced || Grand Ball || Beck and Toni
Toni shrugged, not really knowing what to say to that other than what she did say, âIt looks nice on you, though.âÂ
She had friends here! That was good. That meant if she really wanted to get some space where she wasnât surrounded by people, she could ask a friend to come with her.Â
Toni smiled a little uncomfortably and shrugged. âNobody here with me, no, except for my big brother Harry, and he is with his friends.â
"Thanks." Beck gave a little nervous laugh. Still feeling weird in the dress no matter what anyone said. She'd be more comfortable at home in a too-big tee shirt and shorts.Â
Beck's eyes drifted over the dance floor, spotting a few of her friends, even Jake. Wooing some young woman who was making goo goo eyes at him. She'd have to pull him aside for a dance later. If she was here, she was going to dance with him at some point.
"Ah, well, it'll be fun anyway right? That's what things like these are for... making friends and... dancing and things... right?"Â
His & Hers
Sharing among roommates isn't all that uncommon. Be it intentionally or 'borrowing' from the other without permission. It's something most people who've lived with others understand just happens. However, with men and women living together, even married couples often have separate things. Like shampoo, conditioner or even deodorant. However, when it comes to Beck she just finds it easier to use Jake's. He questioned it at first but over the time they've lived together he's stopped bothering. He'll even go as far as to ensure he gets the brand and scents that Beck favors using. Aside from the basic toiletries, Beck also borrows Jake's tee shirts and hoodies on a regular basis.

Love That Dog || Beck and Poca
Ever since the idea of getting a dog had popped into her head, Pocahontas hadnât been able to get it back out. She loved al animals, whether it was those running through the woods or soaring through the sky, she wasnât picky, they all deserved her love, so they all got it. Lately sheâd been thinking that she needed just a little bit more, something that she could love just a bit more and something to call her own. Her father hadnât jumped at the idea of her getting a dog, but he hadnât said no either, so she took that as a sign that one should become hers. Sheâd debated for some time where she was going to go to start looking, but she finally opted on trying the animal sanctuary. The young girl gently knocked on the door before slipping inside and looking around for someone who might be working there. âExcuse me.â She called softly while approaching a woman, âIâm looking for a dog, could you help me?âÂ
Beck had just returned from her rounds around the sanctuary and returned to what she and the others called 'headquarters'. It was the sort of... ranger station should someone want a guide or someone to show them around. Or just to get basic information. It was also connected to where the kept the animals they were currently helping. Then upstairs was where both Beck and Jake stayed, with an extra room in case they needed a hand during the night or one of them were out. It wasn't much living space for such a large building but Beck wouldn't trade it for the world. Beck glanced up from her seat, curled up with Marty on her lap, his head resting on her knee lifted to observe the stranger. "A Dog? What kind of dog?" She questioned, picking Marty up and setting him on the floor to run and greet the other woman. "I'm Beck, by the way. One of the founders of this place." She smiled. "We don't usually have dogs here... but I've been put in charge of a litter of pups. The only problem... for most, is that they're half wolf. They're the sweetest little things though." Then again, Beck could probably say that about any creature.
Misplaced || Grand Ball || Beck and Toni
Toni giggled once again âYouâd look very spiffy in a tux!â she complimented, then blushed when the compliment was returned. âOh, thank you. I⌠I like it too!â she rocked a little from one heel to another, letting the gauze swish against her arms. Then she smoothed it a little with her stump, unconsciously mirroring her companion, and took a sip of her punch.Â
"So, um, are you here with anyone? Friends, orâŚ.?" she continued, trying to steer the conversation from herself while also feeling genuinely curious.
She laughed. "I would! But I guess a dress isn't so terrible... it's kind of nice but I still feel really awkward." She shrugged. She did like the dress... on it's own? Just not on her. That made it awkward and weird and she kind of felt like a monkey in a dress. A monkey actually would probably be a whole lot more coordinated... and probably a lot cuter if she was being honest. At least, in her opinion. She smiled at the girl's happiness at the comment. This young girl was so pleased to be here, her excitement was obvious in her movement. Even if she seemed a bit nervous she was enjoying it. It made Beck want to put a little more effort into enjoying it.
"My friends are around here somewhere, not really sure where though. We didn't really come together but we keep meeting up. What about you?" She smiled.
Misplaced || Grand Ball || Beck and Brooke
"Yeah, yeah," Brooke lazily rolled her eyes, starting to play with the whimsy bracelet on her wrist. She smiled, amused, as Beck blushed, then started to laugh softly as well. Thank the gods, maybe even Gaea, for the fact Beck decided to come. Though sadly without Mr. Marty. Snuggles with that little fox would make her feel better. "Thanks," she grinned. "YeahâŚ" her smile turned into a grimacing frown, "or going mud puddle jumping. That sounds fun too. But I think it would break my fatherâs heart if I got dirty. Even if Iâm⌠23 now? And we founded the sanctuary and-" she let out a sigh, "parents."
"Ugh, I wish I could but I spent too much on this stupid dress to go out and play in the mud." She laughed, as much as it sounded like fun. And as much as she wanted to... she wasn't about to ruin this dress for that when she could change into a pair of jeans that wouldn't stain or if they did she wouldn't really care. Most of her clothes were 'well loved' and made for working outdoors anyway. Perhaps that was why the more delicate dress she wore now felt so wrong. "You've done damn good for 23! We both have." Even if she was only 22 for the time being.
Mr.Marty || Elisa and Beck
She grinned. âWell thank you. Really?â She asked. âThatâs really cool. So is it just you that lives there or are there others?â
"There are four of us who work there but it's just Jake and I who live there as well. Sort of... man the headquarters you know?" She laughed. The four of them were actually really good friends, Beck adored both Jake and Brooke equally and loved working with them and Taran.
Furry Fella || Beck and Jane
"Okay, great" She smiled. She watched the woman interact with the caged animal and smiled, it really was cute, she wishes she was as good with wild animals as Beck.
"I agree, and of course I can, he is adorable" she said looking down at the fox. She had never seen a fox act as well trained as Marty. She bent down to gently pick him up and cuddled him to her just as she straightened back up. "Ready to go?"
 She carefully shifted the cage in her hands and peeked in on the other fox, nudging another cherry into the cage to keep him occupied. "We've got four of us at the sanctuary, but if you ever want to stop in and learn a couple tricks, none of us would mind!" She grinned.
"He is, he's a little spoiled baby. Aren't you?" She directed the question towards Marty and tapped his nose affectionately. "I'm ready when you are!" She nodded, heading to the door and opening it for Jane. Considering her arms were full of fox and Beck had the cage at least.

Mr.Marty || Elisa and Beck
"Woah." Elisa said. She seemed her age. "Thatâs amazing." She laughed slightly. "Youâre making the rest of us twenty somethings feel inadequate!"Â
Beck couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Everyone has their own time! You'll do something amazing. Honestly, it's a lot of fun but it's a lot of work too. It's funded by the town so we don't get paid a lot, but it's so much fun it's worth it. Plus, I actually get to live on the sanctuary grounds too and it's great for Marty. He loves it."
Misplaced || Grand Ball || OPEN
Brooke laughed a little when Beck relaxed, definitely would have done the same if the roles were reversed. She shrugged, âyeah, I would have. Thatâs how sisters work, I guess.â With a soft smile, Brooke looked down to Beckâs dress and smiled even more. âYou look absolutely stunning in that though!â Even though Beck didnât seem completely like her true self in a dress, a formal one for that matter, it still looked beautiful. âYou just need a laurel wreath, stand out in the forest, wait for some friends to flock, and wha-la~ goddess of the woodland critters.â
"See? So you can't blame her!" She laughed, knowing the sisters well enough that she knew it definitely would have just reversed itself if Bria had been the first to say that she wasn't going. She blushed at her friend's compliment though and looked down at it. "Thanks..." But, as she continued she laughed. "That I could handle, animals don't care if I cover a dress in mud and dance with them." She sighed. "You look really nice too, by the way."Â
Misplaced || Grand Ball || Beck and Toni
Toni jumped a little at the response, finally registering that she was actually talking to a parson. And the person was talking back! âYouâre really pretty though!â she assured the girl. âSorry you donât like it, but⌠I dunno. I like pretty dresses, but itâs fun to wear jeans and do outside stuff too. Being part of both worlds can be fun!â She bounced up on her toes like a little over-excited fairy, gauzy ruffles floating around her waist.
"I like them as long as I don't have to wear them. And my friends woulda killed me if I wore a tux." Plus that was just as uncomfortable too. She laughed though. "You look nice, it suits you, I'm just not used to it I guess." She admitted with a nervous laugh, smoothing her dress a bit,not becuase it was wrinkled but because she was nervous and needed something to do with her hands.Â
Furry Fella || Beck and Jane
Jane let the woman talk to the scared, little critter. She wasnât paying them much attention anyway, she was having too much fun petting the tame one. It was so cute, she had never been so close to a fox.Â
"Really?" she questioned a bit surprised. "As long as I wonât be in your way, Iâd like that, it might help to know how to deal with these situations" she said honestly. She didnât know much on how to deal with large wild animals. Birds and squirrels werenât hard but foxes were different.Â
"Nah, there's plenty of room!" She had the entire sanctuary and with only her and Brooke running it there wouldn't be too much issue with space. She cooed to the caged fox who was finally looking a bit more calm, even coming up to the edge of the cage. Beck offered it a little cherry and t took it and disappeared to the back of the cage.
"I'd be a good thing, I think. It can never hurt to have someone else who can help in a situation. Want to carry Marty? He'll follow but he loves  being carried." He was a big baby. She had the truck here since the sanctuary was on the outskirts of town and stretched a little ways. It wasn't a walk she minded but the fox would be to it's temporary home quicker this way.
Misplaced || Grand Ball || Beck and Toni
"ButâŚ. itâs so prettyâŚ." Toni replied quietly to the stranger next to her. It was true, there were streamers and lights in all quarters, and people in their shimmering dresses and handsome tuxes looking like a fairy tale coming to life before her eyes. She couldnât help gasping at the beautiful sight before her, and she honestly barely realized that her reply was made aloud.
"It is, but I'm not used to dresses." She said sighing a bit, fiddling with the previously mentioned dress. Adjusting it a bit, though not really doing anything to make it more comfortable. Dresses were horrible. They just-- didn't suit her. She liked jeans, and pants and tank tops, not dresses. "I'm not really a pretty type girl, I like animals, and mud and grass... Â She shrugged.
