“If you can see a future without me and that doesn’t break your heart then we’re not doing what I thought we were doing here.”
— That 70’s Show
“It won’t be like this forever. One day, someone’s going to want your voice as the soundtrack to the rest of their life.”
— Maxwell Diawuoh
I want to go home, but it’s not a place—it’s a feeling of knowing it’s over, and that you are safe. It’s no longer waiting for hope; it’s knowing that you are at peace. It’s no longer cupping the future in your palms, watching it fall through the gaps between your fingers. It’s knowing that you’ve reached the end of the tunnel, enveloped by light, clean, and free.
“Sometimes people think they know you. They know a few facts about you, and they piece you together in a way that makes sense to them. And if you don’t know yourself very well, you might even believe that they are right. But the truth is, that isn’t you. That isn’t you at all.”
— Leila Sales
Am I really so unlovable
Are my feelings so unreasonable
I showed you my heart
I showed you my skin
You bit into it
You often loved to
I enjoyed it too
Now you avoid my advances
Now you avoid my presence
I fought myself to stay
And I asked you to understand
Yet you began to fight me too
You left then returned
And I don't know what to do
“Some of us think holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it is letting go.”
— Hermann Hesse
“When you love someone, when you care for someone, you have to do it through the good and the bad. Not just when you’re happy and it’s easy.”
— Lauren Olivier
"I tried and begged her to brave The winter and not to leave. She only replied: “It’s a grave, How can you even breathe?”
— AKHMATOVA, Anna. From "White Flock: Poetry of Anna Akhmatova"
Sylvia Plath // Fyodor Dostoyevsky
— Last Toast, Anna Akhmatova (translated by Katie Farris and Ilya Kaminsky)
[text ID: I drink to our ruined house / To the evil of my life / To our loneliness together / And I drink to you— / To the lying lips that have betrayed us, / To the dead-cold eyes, / To the fact that the world is brutal and coarse / To the fact that God did not save us.]
“It’s sad isn’t it? I once thought worlds of you and now you’re just another lesson.”
— Beau Taplin, The Lesson
“How someone reacts to your sadness says a lot about how long they’re going to be in your life.”
— blossomfully
Something my father taught me is to always make people feel special when they’re in your presence, I think this kind of attention makes people uncomfortable sometimes and they aren’t sure what to do with it and they label it as intensity when nothing was intense, I was just the first person who listened to you in a month and not cut you off with advice or check my phone.
After this year, I've learned a lesson.
When someone ghosts me, I know where the door is.
When someone ghosts you, it means they aren't mature enough to have an open, honest, raw and uncomfortable conversation with you.
I've stopped blaming myself when someone ghosts me. I blame them.
Like I said in a few posts that I did; when someone can't have that open, honest, raw, uncomfortable conversation with me... I'm leaving, for good.
I know you made your bed and I made mine. By me leaving and I'm never coming back.
