Summary: a trip to Doctor Strangeâs sanctum for a lecture ends up with you either time travelling or going through multiple alternative universes. Meanwhile Bucky stays behind to worry over you.

âRoad trip to Doctor Strange!â
Tony had sent the message through Friday to everyoneâs rooms and Y/N all but groaned to out loud. She and Bucky were supposed to watch a movie. Bucky was her best friend - from the minute they met. They just clicked in a way you do with a soulmate friend. She didnât even really like Strange; he was very cocky about guarding the time stone. With a knock at the door, she opened it to find Bucky there frowning.
âStark ruined our movie plansâ he was pouting and gosh did she almost turn to putty in his hands. They watched a lot of movies together because she loved them and he needed to get caught up. If slowly became their thing and during it they would cuddle and eat junk food. She felt guilty during that time because it was a way for her to get him to hold her.
âI know Hun, weâll just watch it when we get back. I think youâre going to love Lady and the Trampâ he hummed and sighed nodding his head. He walked over and took off his shoes before jumping on her bed.
âCome on weâll hang here until Stark rips us from your bedâ she smiled and crawled in next to him and turned on the TV flicking to Cupcake Wars. Bucky loved baking shows.
âwe should go on that showâ
âBucky we would lose immediately. You put salt in Samâs coffee instead of sugar.â
âDoll I did that on purposeâ a gasp and giggle left your lips at his admission. Bucky and Sam were close friends and you knew Bucky had actually told Sam some of his secrets. But they were both tricksters; the two of them together were bound to make each other a target.
âokay Buck, weâll try bakingâ he hummed in agreement as the door flew open to show Tony standing there clearly agitated. âThe entire team is boarded on the Quinjet and whos missing - you two; always you two.
"you said it was a road tripâ Bucky was smirking watching Tony practically foaming at the mouth. Y/N stifled her laugh and clicked off the tv squeezing Buckyâs hand.
âcome on trouble makerâ Bucky smiled and followed Y/N off her bed. You both slipped your shoes on and followed Tony to the jet. No one really said why they were going to the sanctum, but there would probably be a debrief on the jet. Y/N yawned and took her seat next to Bucky and buckled up.
âStrange called us over because as the Avengers one day we might end up with an infinity stones. Tricks on him we already had to Tesserae Act. Anyway itâs like a little seminar on how powerful the stone is. Please be cool. Tonyâs finish made everyone chuckle. He said it every time they attended a gala and theyâre pretty sure it was to keep him from doing paperwork.
Just from lying in bed for a bit you were tired. You let a yawn out and your head fell onto Buckyâs shoulder. He didnât jump or flinch; with someone else he might have. But with you he saw nothing but softness - he knew you and trusted you. When Bucky looked up Steve was smiling at him.
âno you want to say somethingâ Steve just laughed at Bucky calling him out and shrugged. Steve knew Bucky was too blind to realize the mutual feelings between Bucky and Y/N.
âjust want you to be happy - I always want you to be happy.â
âsame here Stevie and I think I am. Iâve got my family and Iâve got -â he paused as he looked at you all snuggled up on him mouth parted with little snores reaching his ears. For now he would leave it alone until he could find the perfect word for you.
Steve nodded with a smile and pat him on the shoulder and rested until they landed at Strangeâs. Bucky shook you awake and you looked at him half lidded.
âweâre at the Sanctum.â
âoops, sorryâ Bucky smiled shaking his head and chuckled a little taking your seat belt off and pulling you up to your feet. You gave him a sleepy smile and he booped your nose. You laughed and shook off the last tendrils of sleep and followed Bucky off the jet.
Y/N sat with her arms crossed bored out of her mind as Strange droned on about the danger of the infinity stones. Bucky was sitting next to you drumming his fingers against his jeans yawning. there was sudden jostle of a leg hitting hers; it was Bucky. He gave you a smile and gestured to his hand resting on his jeans. He was drawing out words on his pants with his pointer finger. U-G-H, you held in your laughter but smiled at him and placed your hand on your jeans. I - K-N-O-W, Buckyâs shoulders shook a little and they were corrected by Steve with a glare. Bucky was spelling again though, B-U-Z-Z-K-I-L-L. Y/N giggled a little bit and then focused back on Dr. Strange at the end of his sentence.
â - so please be careful if you come in contact with an infinity stonesâ Y/N sighed and leaned over to Bucky.
âcouldnât he just say infinity stone equals no touch touchyâ Bucky let out a small bout of laughter that made Strange snap.
âalright Ms. Y/N please come here and touchy touchy the time stoneâ Y/N held back a laugh as you approached the floating stone. He positioned you a bit across from him like the two of you were about to spar.
âokay so say Iâm an opponent with a stone doesnât matter which one all are equally dangerous. Now come at and grab the stoneâ
Y/N nodded and started to run at the wizard as Tony called. You reached your hand to the glowing stone and clenched it in youâd hand. You looked at Strange with a smirk and an eye brow raised. Strange looked back with the same smirk but added a wink. And then it was like fire was running through your veins. You were getting light headed and your vision was blurring. You heard yourself scream out and lose balance as you passed out. Everything was blinding white and felt like there was air whooshing around you. You just wanted to throw up but that feeling passed as you were now standing on stable ground looking at yourself and Bucky holding hands across the table, your left hand glittering from an engagement ring and wedding band. Buckyâs left hand was the same.

Bucky jumped to his feet staring at Y/Nâs body started convulsing on the floor. Tony was the same, well everyone was on their feet worriedly. Bucky ran over to Y/N grabbing her hand to hold and trying to wake her up but she was still convulsing. Finally she stopped and Buckyâs body deflated before he glared at Strange.
âwhat did you do to herâ he was seething. He hated seeing Y/N in any type of pain. One time you two were sparring and he accidentally punched you in the face. He apologized for a week and vowed to never spar with you again. Seeing you in pain was hard for him and nothing being able to do anything to help was even worse.
âyeah what did you do because the stone is supposed to be like time travel but if you did time travel she would be gone all together?â
âyes indeed Stark, but like any opponent with the dangerous stone I actually send her to alternate universes. She canât be a part of the universe. She canât be a part of the universe thatâs why physically sheâs still here but mentally sheâs in another universe watching herself. every time she goes to a new universe sheâll convulse like she was. Now after she comes out sheâll probably need some medical attention seeing what sheâll be seeing. Now do you guys see why you shouldnât touch an infinity stone?â The end to Strangeâs sentence was the one that broke Buckyâs fury.
