how can i communicate to wild bunnies that i am their ally

I was walking through the toy aisle at Target when I found this thing and had a VIOLENT AND IMMEDIATE FLASHBACK to when JP first came out and they had a bunch of REALLY COOL T Rex toys that I would have sold one of my scrawny small-child limbs for but my mother wouldn’t get me one because they were “too violent and also ate people” :(

regression doesn’t have to be pretty.

age regression isn’t an aesthetic.

age regression can be scary, hard, sad. it’s not always cute, sweet aesthetics and adorable pictures of people smiling with stuffed animals and pacifiers. sure it can be fun, and it can be positive too! and it can be cute and soft, it can be pretty. but it doesn’t have to be pretty. it isn’t always pretty.

i see people getting jealous of others for their regression, their blogs and their pictures. they want to be as cute as those people, as perfect as those people.

but you can’t be. everyone’s regression is different. not every part of regression is beautiful or cute. regression can be crying into your caregivers lap. crying into your stuffed animals. regression can be scary when it’s due to things like ptsd/trauma. it can be difficult and hard because you don’t know what’s going on sometimes. regression can be during a breakdown. regression can be taking week long breaks from tumblr just to relax and play with your toys or sleep. it isn’t just about the cute blogs and adorable content.

so please don’t feel bad if your regression isn’t “pretty enough” or “cute enough”. don’t feel bad if it doesn’t appear as good as other people’s, because i can guarantee you that those people with thousands of notes on their cutesy posts ALSO have bad parts of their regression. and that’s okay. it’s not always meant to be pretty, not everything is picture perfect, life is hard, we’re all just kids and being a kid isn’t easy, especially if you have other things going on. but your regression is still good. you’re still good, even if it isn’t always pretty aesthetics. just be you, be yourself, post what makes you happy when you feel like it even if it doesn’t get thousands of notes, reblog things you like and not just for the aesthetic, stop giving yourself rules and guidelines to follow so you can appear pretty and perfect. just do what makes you feel good, not appear good. be you. you are good.
