I might sound selfish on this.

Hot take, I will always prioritize my mental health first. I will help a friend if they need me to and I am happy to help. But the second my medication for my anxiety isn't working as well, I will become a bystander and focus on my own mental health. I will still help, but I will no longer be the main person that my friend leans on for emotional support.
