Old warhammer art was one of the big draws into the game for me as a kid. John Blanche had a really unique style that's hard to replicate- I wanted to at least draw a little something in honor of him. His style was a big inspiration, but even then it's hard to get right.

The Crucible is a key strongpoint in the Mechanicum supplylines in the far east of the galaxy, where the Imperium and T'au Empire clash. The swirling pandemonium of the planet is filled with rare chemical compounds that forgeworlds in the region find hard to source.

The Crucible has a long tradition of insurgence and heresy, being settled during the Long Night by a xenos hivemind who merged with the local populace, purged by the Iron Warriors and forced to return to the Imperium during the final days of the Great Crusade. This xenocide was not to be the last, as the Ultim-Scyllia continued to return over and over- mostly due to Mechanicum meddling with their extremely advanced technology. Due to it's vast black-market of xenos goods (including traders directly from the T'au Empire itself), Crucible is rife with Techno-heresy- but due to it's importance to running several forgeworlds in the area these infractures are often overlooked.

Loveur herself openly travels with her bodyguard of servitors, modified by T'au drone equipment and Ultim-Scylla brain-linkages. However, her sheer loyalty is unequestionable- the planet runs like clockwork, and under her harsh rule has delivered more than any of her predecessors in service of the Mechanicum. As such, the open secret of her heretek is often ignored in recognition of her accomplishments- often called "The Witch of the Cauldron", much to her own approval.

However, recent evidence of a genestealer cult forming from a hivefleet that was once thought defeated has lead to the question of inquisitorial scrutiny over the Crucible- and aggression over the planet's openness towards affairs with non-humans/
